And the surprise comes from Germany !!!
A beautiful score with perky accents‚ sometimes really enchanting -- thanks to very simple themes idealized by varied‚ developped and sensitive arrangements. We have to go back to Radio Flyer or Nine Months to find such a musical treatment of Childhood theme by Hans Zimmer. (but in this soundtrack‚ it's more orchestral without any synth).
With the great return of Nick "Rock where we were soldiers in the Puy Du Fou" Glennie-Smith (after King Arthur and his Chorus) and the growing influence of Henning Lohner (The Ring...)‚ this score‚ in complete contrast to the very latest zimmer's works‚ is the best gift that could happen to us after the big disappointment of the rock-bottom Sharktale' score.
Finally‚ let's point out that‚ if the team is roughly the same‚ this CD is a 100% non-MV production...

oh so nice I like the dvd beautiful...and also the music .....I have so nice time when I look the movie The song....TOUCH THE SKY...every time I listen this than I am far away.
it's not a NGS solo score it's really a hans zimmer and NGS collaboration ... look at the credits, hans zimmer is almost everywhere. Nick Glennie-Smith was solo only on short cues.
If you listen carefully to Der kleine Eisbär 2, We were Soldiers, Man in the Iron Mask, Puy du Fou or The Lion King II you can clearly hear that Lauras Stern is written in NGS style :)
He is IMHO one of the most underrated composer and should get some better scoring assignments. :(
mostly written by nick glennie smith ... why is it so good ? Because hans zimmer took part in the process of creating the score ? i've never heard a nick glennie smith score like this !
