It's nothing short of a masterpiece, a modern opera. The choir is beautiful, and the choice of gospel for the first track gives it a unique identity, though I'm not sure how well it meshes with the orchestra. It feels a bit off, but will hopefully improve for me on further listens.

The composition, has to me, elevated Powell to the status of the second best living composer (Williams is still first for now). It's pure orchestral beauty and mastery with variety of texture, color, and style, with seamless tonal transitions. The complexity rivals some of the great works of the past.

It's strange to me that this is called "choral works". Sure the choir is an important element, but it really should be named "Hubris Symphony", or "Hubris: The Opera", because that's the status the album deserves. My Attempt at a chronological order with edits (feel free to correct any mistakes or if I missed anything)

1. Rogue One is a bit of an odd one. From what I'd heard, Desplat had joined on the condition he'd be allowed to do his own thing and not ape Williams. But once they decided to overhaul the film, they pressured him to go that exact direction. Things stayed still for a while (in which he still got paid) before he was finally let go very late into production. So the idea he sorta just left is interesting, so I'm curious to hear what that was about.

For BW, it seems very likely to me that Marvel simply were unsure about Alexandre's music, so I'm guessing they hired Balfe to do some demos and decided from there. Who knows what the exact timeline is, but I'd wager it'd have to at least be this year if he's been on it a bit. Especially with AD's name having stayed on the posters during it.Hybrid, Desplat left Rogue One just for his own idea? I know he left that movie beacuse schedule conflict for the reshoots.
But for Black Widow seems that the replacement was since months ago with Lorne writing and recording the score at the same timeht tp:// filmmusicreporter. com/2020/04/01/ track-list-for-disneys-live-action-mulan -soundtrack-album-revealed/

Why release a tracklist for an album that won't be released for another 6 months at least. That's just a punch in the gut, in my opinionSo it won't be a last minute and hasty job?No idea but he was on it for a bit, I think.
Hybrid, do you know how long Lorne had to score?Score is recorded already.Yup, which makes me wonder if they had to wait before announcing it, considering Desplat was still being listed in posters prior to the delay.I think Lorne teased this some time ago by sending a picture of researching Russian music on insta (maybe)Hello,

I'm looking for the translation of the song God Yu Tekkem Laef Blong Mi in English of French.

Could anyone help me ?

Thank you !

Yes, all of the Metal Gear solid games are good...
BUt I'm also talknig about the original, ORIGINAL games that were released for the nintendo..I've been playing MG since the first one ever =)

They had to go back in time for the third one, you know why? Because they messed up the plot of the second so much, that they didn't know what was going on..notice how that particular plot revolves around 'The Patriots' and their 'schemes'..all through the games its "--Patriots this, Patriots that"-- and in the end all 12 of them were dead 100 years ago...anyone else find that odd?

The games still rule and MG3 has a million and one hidden features in it =)

Try saving the game and turning the console off when you're in the cell after getting slaughtered by Volgin and see what happens when you load up the game again..

You can snipe The End when you see him being carried off in his wheelchair and he dies right there and then!

Try wearing Raikov's suit when fighting Volgin in the Shagohods Holds.

Hold Raikov up and he'll qoute things from MG2 =)

Theres more but I'm not going to ruin them all for you, happy secret hunting =)

confused this mp3 track IS played during the game. Try to hear after you destroy the bridge when Shagohod is passing it.

I recommend all of you to buy this soundtrack. I loved MGS2 soundtrack, but I admit, this one is really better.

confused reply Replies: 0 || 2005-03-16 00:00:00
Okay, can someone explain to me why the mp3 track here is only featured in the trailer but not the game? Is this only cd that has it?

This is just god-like, I can't say there's a better theme song for a movie or game. Even the Gladiator-soundtrack comes in 2nd place. It's so uplifting, it gives you hope and makes you feel great.. But who composed the original melody? Harry-Gregson Williams just made a mix with a few new instruments and some little variations.
