I actually don't know which I prefer. I guess nostalgia might be clouding my judgement, since the album version was the one used on the DVD menu. Both are still pretty good, nonetheless.Yeah no contest IMO, it's much more dynamic and more "Powell-y" compared to that Superman-style rhythm he uses in the album version and elsewhere in the score. Must have been a hasty last-minute redo or something to not show up on the album.The films Powell is currently choosing allow him to write much more interesting music than your average Marvel movie... ;)

Excited for Call of the Wild in a few weeks.Does anyone know what the correct chronological tracklist for this would be?Honestly, i think i will be that few people who likes Lights Out. But his best horror score is A Cure for Wellness
Thatís a cool choice, Iím hoping for something more like ďItĒ and less like ďLightís OutĒ.Wallfisch has compose the score for The Invisible Man, another horror score for the best guy today for the jobPowell has his personal reasons, but I sincerely hope he comes around to do another superhero score again, especially for MARVEL since his style isnít fit for the likes of DC as of now.I like the film version of Bathroom Titles better.LOL!

He has had some experience with animated projects, Iím interested to hear him do more diverse projects like that.
I will never understand when people can't stand people opinions and 'attack' them.

If some loves Trent Reznor (i hate the guy's music), is his opinion and i no one to say nothing about it.Bring on the remixes!LOL!!! You have no idea about film music
====================

It's his opinion, my friend.

And his opinion is equally as valid as the opinion of someone who thinks this score is the worst crap ever. Why? Because when it comes to appreciating art (movies, books, music...) it is all completely subjective.

I always use this example: I have two friends - educated, family men - who have seen The Godfather. One of them thinks it's one of the greatest movies ever, while the other one barely finished watching it.

At the end of the day, just because a group of people (film critics, film buffs, etc) proclaim that something is "good" or "bad" doesn't mean that it's automatically a holy statement that everyone should agree with.

We are all different :)

Cheers!Judging by the clips of this movie, it will be a good choice.

I can't wait for this one, after seeing those clipsAccording to Film Music Reporter, Tom is also scoring Scoob!
MMichaels LOL!!! You have no idea about film musicFantastic score by Balfe.Best action score writer to come from RCP since Powell for sure .It hits all the same notes you would expect out of a feel good sports movie, but the performances and real life story really add a lot to it, as does Rabinís score.
=======================

Well said!

Agreed.I've demanded for it to be removed a long time ago... Maybe in 10 years, who knows...RIP to a legend....

Just rewatched Coach Carter a few weeks back. It hits all the same notes you would expect out of a feel good sports movie, but the performances and real life story really add a lot to it, as does Rabinís score.

thanks for your kind words damien i am glad that am being appreciated here by some folks why are you a moderator?

all told, i decided to hand over my programme to you for a small fee to compensate my expenses and it will then be for you to decide whether or not to use much time was spent in perfecting it so i am afraid its not asked too much

Damien, Moderator reply Replies: 0 || 2008-04-12 00:00:00
I agree with DemonStar and Rapier on that.
mgbube, all you can get with such a program is to belittle the petition and letting think to Disney it is not a serious one.

The only suggestion I can say is to be patient (the petition has just been released, so you cannot expect it to give result in only some weeks). And if this petitition does not change Disney's mind, your program won't change anything.

mgbube reply Replies: 0 || 2008-04-12 00:00:00
can you assure other means as outshine my programme and lead to prompt release of the lion king score if so please do suggest am willing to postpone application of programme until someone proposes superior solution i challenge everyone to devise better idea than i have done in laborious work and my programme is the child of this effort undertaken in many nights i am favourably inclined toward hans zimmer site here so will grant you another day to come up with your proposal otherwise programme will be applied to petition site as has been previously said mgbube

DemonStar reply Replies: 0 || 2008-04-12 00:00:00
mgbube, NO! Please try to understand, the petition will be ruined if you do this!

Zurg reply Replies: 0 || 2008-04-11 00:00:00
Intrada just released a limited edition of Baby by Jerry Goldsmith, so it proves Disney is not impenetrable. Effort could bear fruit.

mgbube reply Replies: 0 || 2008-04-11 00:00:00
programme is now ready for application to site signatures will be produced and entered into petition at 12am mst please support release of the lion king effort will bear bitter fruit unless proper means be taken

Rapier reply Replies: 0 || 2008-04-07 00:00:00
mgbube, no offense but please do not post comments like this on a public board, or Disney might take some true signatures to be fake as well! We're better off with doing it the honest and right way, even if it's difficult. Perseverance pays off, remember that.

DemonStar reply Replies: 0 || 2008-04-07 00:00:00
No sorry mgbube, we need genuine signatures for this purpose.

mgbube reply Replies: 0 || 2008-04-06 00:00:00
hello,

maybe i can help i wrote lil programme as will consume petition site as input and produce innumerable illegal fake names as output and enter them into said petition site for more support idea accepted?

DemonStar reply Replies: 0 || 2008-03-29 00:00:00
Pushkin, at least it's better than sitting there doing nothing. And Lion King is one record breaking movie and score, so there could be a chance. I am very familiar with Walt Disney Record's policy, but I just cannot bear to listen to my favourite score in this form. I could live with a bootleg like this for any other score (yes, of course I listen to it day and night) but for TLK we really need the score in a good quality form it deserves. No offense :)

Pushkin reply Replies: 0 || 2008-03-29 00:00:00
Ladies and Gentlemen, this petition is doomed to failure. Disney doesn't give a rat's ass about their fans. Even if 100,000 people were to sign this, they would not release it. Face it. Be happy you have the bootleg and listen to it all day and night. Apart from that, there's nothing more I could do for you. Thanks for your time :)

Rapier reply Replies: 0 || 2008-03-02 00:00:00
Not bad for a start! C'mon everyone help spread word about the petition around!

DemonStar reply Replies: 0 || 2008-02-22 00:00:00
Guys can anyone help me a bit? I've posted the petition link on every forum I could but I can't register or MovieMusic, dunno why. If any of you could post it there, I'd be much grateful!!

Pridelander reply Replies: 0 || 2008-02-20 00:00:00
Wow, thank you very much Shawn Chandler-Pa! Now I'm thinking what to write on the comment section ;)

DemonStar reply Replies: 0 || 2008-02-19 00:00:00
Yahoo!! :D Well done, Shawn! I'll try to get as many signatures as I can!

Damien, Moderator reply Replies: 0 || 2008-02-18 00:00:00
For the petition:
www.petitiononline.com/LIONKING/petition.html
(problem has nothing to see with bootleg or not, it's spam filter)

Jeff reply Replies: 0 || 2008-02-18 00:00:00
i have the petition but its not letting me post it...

Shawn Chandler-Pa reply Replies: 0 || 2008-02-18 00:00:00
Yeah, why can't you post the address to a petition? I mean its NOT asking for a bootleg copy. Its to get the real thing. Come on webmasters. What the deal??? I put some work into this thing and now, where I wanted to post because its the root of all this petition business, I can't.

Shawn Chandler-Pa reply Replies: 0 || 2008-02-18 00:00:00

Because its an amazing movie, and the CD missed all the great stuff really.

Rapier reply Replies: 0 || 2008-02-13 00:00:00
Go on and create a petition, guys!

DemonStar reply Replies: 0 || 2008-02-06 00:00:00
Looks like it's becoming a sort of "who will bell the cat?" situation here! LOL... come on, guys, we've got nothing to lose by creating a petition, and who knows, if we get enough signatures, TLK complete score might actually be released!! There are SEVERAL TLK score fans out there, and I bet even people who have this bootleg will sign as many want to obtain the mono tracks in good quality. Go ahead!

Foehammer reply Replies: 0 || 2008-02-02 00:00:00
Go ahead, Shawn!!

Rapier reply Replies: 0 || 2008-01-26 00:00:00
Spot on, Jack! Chris Knight is a great guy and I bet he'll definitely give advice regarding a petition. If the word is spread around enough there's really a chance that Lion King is released! Of course, I'll help spread it around as much as I can.

Jack reply Replies: 0 || 2008-01-24 00:00:00
Come on guys, let's make this dream come true! We did that for Transfomers, we can do that for The Lion King as well.

Shawn, you should ask Chris Knight (http://theknightshift.blogspot.com) to give you some advices about building a petion up.
Then I'm sure that ALL the fans will support you.

Rapier reply Replies: 0 || 2008-01-23 00:00:00
And yeah Shawn, my email is raviscrentor@gmail.com if you want to contact me for information about the petition. Webmasters, plz don't delete the address as this is only to contact Shawn here and not related to bootlegs or trading etc :-)

Rapier reply Replies: 0 || 2008-01-23 00:00:00
Shawn, I am ready to spread the word around as much as I can, though I also have college and studies attend. If we do our job good enough, there's a good chance it might be released!
