And I can tell you Hans brought the matter to the very head of Disney Music... Everyone seems game to release it, just need to work out some technicalities...He mentions the Dark Phoenix second CD here. 20:33 onwards.<br><br>https: //www.youtube.com/watch? v=mHmKZbUZiIA<br><br>"I did a film recently that got away, but we wrote 16 hours of music. We're actually fighting to get another CD released because the film didn't do anything, just to have it out there. Because you can't use again in something else, so it'd be nice to have it out there. So that it doesn't disappear into a rubbish bin".Life's Not Fair first part is similar > Tears of the Sun - Yekeleni Part 1 lolAny idea on the name of the song from the trailer?Honestly the biggest problem with this new version for me is the lack of new variants of the themes. They mostly just repeat verbatim Hans' original ideas with little to no innovation or changes made most of the time. <br><br>It also doesn't help that cues that did have wonderful variations such as "Nala Attacks", and "Nala & Simba" have been shortened to mostly cut them out. The worst cut being for the ending to "Mufasa's Ghost" which originally peaked the emotion with that lovely variation of Simba/The One True King theme transitioning into the Pride Rock theme, all of which is absent now.
The comic con trailer for Season 3 looks excellent.<br><br>Really looking forward to next season & score.<br><br>I saw some early 1900 world. (One of the other parks?) Thanks Hybrid for explaining that. Makes more sense now.Yes it is because the FYC is horrible... The OST is what Steve & co wrote. Hey all. I was able to buy a pretty cheap program at Best Buy called Magix Audio Studio. I got it for like $20 and I've used it to clean up my version of the soundtrack. It can create surround sound so the Mono tracks sound more enveloping. I love it!

PS: I just go the soundtrack myself. It does sound amazing. I'm so happy to have it now because as a kid, I loved this movie!

Thanks again for all the helpfull tips on track renaming

I also meant to add that you can edit the speed with it as well, changing the speed and/or the tone...which will bring it to what it should sound like.

Well, if you think I am playing a trick, then all right, I'll not bother you. It is for your own benefit that I offered to help you. But maybe you don't want to display your email ID publicly, eh? Well, then if you want you can mail me at #### and I'll reply. And BTW that "--..."-- is because the way to get this CD is very tough and requires a lot of patience, which everybody doesn't have. And if you're connected through dial-up, then the only way you can get it is in DREAMS.

Caephalo Trecca reply Replies: 0 || 2005-09-04 00:00:00
Hey cubsimba! Yes, the track 7 does sound similar to the music from that scene, and so does the "--once and future king"-- music. Thanks for the info! :)

cubsimba reply Replies: 0 || 2005-09-02 00:00:00
I believe they reused the panpipe solo from "--The Once And Future King"-- at 0:30 played softly behind the dialogue in the water-splashing scene. BTW, I've noticed that track 7 ("--Hyenas"--) closely resembles the music from the scene in the beginning of the movie where Scar plays with the mouse:

0:09 into track 7: Scar lifts up the mouse
0:31 into track 7: Zazu announces Mufasa
0:36 into track 7: Mouse scurries off to safety
0:53 into track 7: Scar catches Zazu
0:54 into track 7: Mufasa appears
1:00 into track 7: Music stops until next scene

So the first minute of track 7 ("--Hyenas"--) is really the music from the mouse scene, just arranged with different instruments (I'm glad they decided against the saxophone). The rest of the track apparently never made it into the movie.

This makes perfect sense when looking at the track list: as previously stated, track 2 ("--Life's Not Fair"--) should actually be the 7th track (renamed "--Setting The Trap"--), and the 7th track ("--Hyenas"--) should actually be.. yep, the 2nd track (renamed to "--Life's Not Fair"--). They're swapped. :)

Caephalo Trecca reply Replies: 0 || 2005-09-02 00:00:00
Speaking about that, I really wasn't able to hear music from that particular music (when Timon splashes water onto the unconscious Simba's face) anywhere in this release. If you listen closely, this tune is NOT played on the "--On Our Side/Simba Awakens"-- track. Similarly, the track "--Life is not Fair"-- is misnamed here, and the actual track isn't included anywhere in this release (too bad, if it would have been released it would've possibly been in stereo :( And so I fully agree with cubsimba that the guy who made this release must be having his head in the clouds while doing this or was really careless (now making some tracks mono and misnaming them isn't a small mistake, eh??) So it is right to say that this release is not the complete score but an EXPANDED one, right? ---)

Guest reply Replies: 0 || 2005-09-02 00:00:00
In response to cubsimba's comment about the woodwind solo, isn't that played during Simba's awakening? Around the time Timon gives that joke about being on top of the food chain?

cubsimba reply Replies: 0 || 2005-09-01 00:00:00
I fully agree with you Caephalo Trecca :) As you said, it seems unlikely that the sound effects were hard to remove from only a specific range of the movie. There's sound effects coming from every speaker in the final battle of Pride Rock scene, so if this score was somehow ripped from the DVD, there should at least be some sound effects in this particular track 19, but there are none at all. This, and the fact that there's music on this bootleg score that wasn't even in the film itself (and thus not on the DVD) pretty much refutes the DVD rip theory. The mono tracks are probably due to negligence on the bootlegger's part or have been copied from a medium on which they were stored in mono to begin with.

My own personal theory is that the full score was given to someone in 2003 during the production of the DVD so that this person could choose suitable background music from the score for the DVD menus. Some of the menus on the DVD feature parts from the score that haven't been released on the official soundtrack CD. This person (or maybe an evil coworker :) then copied the full score and locked it away for a year or so, delaying the release till early 2005 so it couldn't be readily traced back to him by Disney lawyers. Or something :) At least that's how I would've done it...

Caephalo Trecca reply Replies: 0 || 2005-09-01 00:00:00
All right, I agree with you guys about the slowing down. But. BUT. How in the world can u separate music from SFX and dialogue in a DVD rip? If it is so possible, won't everybody here with a DVD combo and aduio software be making his/her own bootlegs ---) ???And even if you're smart enough to do it, how come only score pieces ranging from a certain part of the movie (the stampede to simba and nala's reunion) are in mono. You can't say that it is due to heavy concentration of SFX and Dialogue only in these parts, because the Pride Rock scene has far more SFX and dialogue than these scenes, and it is in quite good quality stereo. Anyway, it is quite difficult for me to understand all this gag, so let's just stop whipping arround and enjoy the good quality stereo tracks (especially Track 19) and hope they release the mono tracks in stereo soon, probably in another promo ?? Okay, fellas? ---)

Déjà Vu reply Replies: 0 || 2005-08-31 00:00:00
Well, it's obvious Caephalo Trecca. I believe this is a rip from either the DVD or another source. If you listen to the 17th track's thrid part (Remember) at the end of the track before the music turns into a loud choir there is a slight voice which appears to be Raffiki's voice. I think the parts that appear to be mono are ones where to producer of this bootleg couldn't just cut the SFX off due to the nature of the sound mixing in that part of the film.

cubsimba reply Replies: 0 || 2005-08-31 00:00:00
I doubt that it's a rip from the DVD. This bootleg includes some music that hasn't been used in the film at all, most notably the beautiful 30 seconds passage starting about one minute into "--The Once And Future King"--, the last 15 seconds of "--A New Era / Bowling For Buzzards"--, and the woodwind solo at the end of "--On Our Side / Simba Awakens"--, if I'm not mistaken.

Regarding the incorrect speed: I increased the speed in Goldwave by simply setting the playback rate (Effects ->-- Playback Rate) to the original 48,000 Hz which resulted in the correct speed. However, this method will produce 48 KHz sound files which aren't CD compliant. On the upside, none of the sound information will be lost.

If you want 44.1 KHz MP3s or WAV files (e.g. to be able to burn on CD), you should first set the correct playback rate (48 KHz) as outlined above and then save as 44.1 KHz MP3 or WAV files. Goldwave will then downsample them correctly. As with Time Warp, this will, of course, result in loss of some of the sound information. The change rate in the Time Warp settings should be set to 108.84% (48 KHz / 44.1 KHz * 100 = 108.84%)

Caephalo Trecca reply Replies: 0 || 2005-08-30 00:00:00
And for all you fans concerned about the slowing down, only the score pieces have been slowed down, not the OSTS. And Regarding misnaming, I've already posted my custom tracklist here, see it and you'll find out the actual names. If you want to speed up the tracks without altering anything else, here's the solution:

1. Download Goldwave and the LAME MP3 encoder.

2. Open the original MP3s in GoldWave and in "--Time Warp"--, reduce the speed by 0.10.

3. Save the file at the original bitrate.

The only thing I don't understand is WHY did they have to make some tracks mono??

Caephalo Trecca reply Replies: 0 || 2005-08-30 00:00:00
Keep hunting on the internet, you'll find it --) You can't find it in the market, this is an unofficial release, the net is the only source.

this expanded edition is strange !

track 10 "--What Have You Done - Run Away"-- sounds like "--to die for"-- movie version but it seems slowered and pitched down ...

it's me again, the author of the last comment,

i confirm that this edition is pitched down and slower than the movie in some cues ... listen to the extract "--track 6"-- it's the music we hear during Mufasa's reprimands scene, slower than the movie version

Hey guys I finally found this release, it is SO wonderful! Almost all the music in the movie is included, and lots of themes we never heard before are also covered! There's the bouncy Timon and Pumbaa theme heard on tracks 12,13 and 19, and eerie hyenas theme heard on tracks 5 and 9, the opening of "--King of Pride Rock"-- of the OST is heard in tracks 6,12 and 19, and the two major lion king themes are used everywhere just enough to be memorable, and fit in very well. The first one reaches its climax in track 17, and the other one in track 19. This score simply ROCKS!!

Caephalo Trecca reply Replies: 0 || 2005-08-01 00:00:00
Surprisingly, the "--Life isn't fair...."-- track here is actually the "--Setting the Trap"-- music and the actual "--Life isn't fair..."-- music isn't present at all!!!! It is there, though, in the SFX bootleg version (not very good quality...)

Caephalo Trecca reply Replies: 0 || 2005-08-01 00:00:00
All right, here's the correct track list, arranged by me scene-wise and all names have been corrected. I've put the OST instrumentals at the end, though, to avoid any confusion :) I've also changed some track names to make the readers understand which scene they are from. They're only MY versions, though. Ok, enjoy!--

1) Circle of Life
2) Painting/Everything the Light touches (reorder)
3) Scar tricks Simba/Simba and Nala
4) The Elephant Graveyard/Mufasa Rescue
5) Kings of the Past
6) Scar meets the Hyenas
7) Be Prepared
8) Setting the Trap (reorder)
9) The Stampede
10) What have You Done?/Running for Life
11) A New Era/Bowling for Buzzards
12) On Our Side/Simba Awakens
13) Go Hunting (reorder)
14) Under the Stars/Simba Alive
15) Hunting/Pinned Again/Reunion
16) Can you Feel The Love Tonight
17) An Argument/You're Mufasa's Boy/Remember
18) This Is My Home
19) The Return/Battle of Pride Rock/Cleansing Rain/The Ascension/End Credits
20) This Land (album version)
21) Under the Stars (album version)

As I mentioned earlier, "--...To Die For"-- here is NOT from the Stampede scene but the scene just after Hakuna Matata when the hyenas talk to Scar about scarcity of food. If my list creates any confusion, just ignore it :) It is just for help of fans who don't find the corresponding scene for the tracks. And this is in the order in which I burned my CD after speeding up the tracks :)
