You gotta realize one thing, this score is US recorded so every new 15 min of score you release, you gotta pay back reuse fees. So it's very complicated & costy and that's why they released "only" 15 min of extra score.<br><br>If it was recorded in the UK, they could have released 2 hours of bonus tracks it wouldn't have cost anything more... :)<br><br>As for a chrono order, since all cues are mixed together in different tracks in the OST, it gets complicated... Whoever did it, it works!me who seldom watch any of these superhero movies and remakes went and saw the new aladdin last weekend.<br><br>based on my own experience of that remake i have come to the conclusion that maybe some of the reviewers are stuck-up and not open-minded? i did enjoy the new takes on some of the songs. the new movie felt like that. a new different movie to me. <br><br>i decided that i will go and watch these movies for myself now. and i would not watch (or listen to original scores) in advance to build up expectation. i will go and enjoy my time and the songs.<br><br>that's all &#175;\_(&#12484;)_/&#175; you can't please everyone.To be honest. Finally! It would be nice to have composers credits@DT<br>Disney definitely tries to put quality into their projects, which is why I admire them. As youve said, WDAS and Pixar are both churning out some excellent and original films. Even Marvel, despite its formula and flaws, tries new things with the films and stick closely to the source material. <br><br>The problem with the remakes is that they seem to be nothing more than cash-grabs that prey on nostalgia. If you are going to retell a beloved story at least try something different and exciting, instead of trying to copy/paste what everyone has seen.This is where I wish we could edit our comments.<br><br>Not only do you have WDAS doing mostly-new movies (I hesitate to say 'original') but you have Pixar doing them as well. Toy Story 4 was their last sequel for the foreseeable future, with them even eschewing the popular option of doing an Inside Out sequel for original projects.I feel like people are overreacting in a way that suggests these remakes have far more power than they actually do. The studio that makes them is separate from every other studio. WDAS is still creating new content and will be for many, many years to come, long after the remakes have had their heyday.<br><br>If anything, the proliferation of superhero films is far more likely to drown out originality on that front: there are multiple studios doing it.Order I went with for the album<br><br>Everything I Need (Film Version)<br>Arthur <br>Home Invasion (Bonus Track)<br>It Wasn't Meant To Be<br>Permission To Come Aboard<br>Ask the&#8239;Sea (Bonus Track)<br>Atlantean Soldiers<br>Ahab Waves (Bonus Track)<br>Saving Pops (Bonus Track)	Soundtrack	0	1<br>Swimming Lessons	<br>Kingdom of Atlantis<br>The Legend of Atlan	<br>The Ring of Fire	<br>What Does That Even Mean?Soundtrack	0	<br>Obligation (Bonus Track)	<br>Dunes (Bonus Track)	<br>Map In a Bottle<br>Mera&#8239;Montage	<br>The Black Manta	<br>Trench Engaged (From Kingdom of the Trench)	Soundtrack	0	<br>Reunited <br>What Could Be Greater Than a King?<br>Suited and Booted <br>Between Land and Sea <br>He Commands the Sea	<br>Ocean To Ocean (feat. Same here. The cue I want the most is We Strike First.@Edmund<br>I cant agree enough. These remakes suffer from the issue of being inferior to the original source material, mainly because they rely so heavily on copying the originals so heavily. Im not necessarily against Disney updating their classics if they are willing to do new takes on the material. Take Jungle Book for example; they were able to do something fresh with the concept while keeping elements of the animated film. Even Maleficent, which Im not crazy about, tried something new. <br><br>Another BIG issue Ive noticed is the fact that they lean towards hiring actors who cannot sing, or at least cannot sing on the level required. Emma Watson, Will Smith, Chiwetel Ejiofor, etc.Best shot <br>It wasnt meant to be<br>Home invasion<br>Ahab waves (0:39-end)<br>Permission to come aboard?<br>Ask the sea<br>Ahab waves (0:00-0:38)<br>Saving pops<br>Swimming lessons<br>Kingdom of atlantis<br>Legend of atlan<br>Ring of fire<br>What does that even mean?<br>Ocean to ocean<br>Obligation<br>Dunes<br>Map in a bottle<br>Black manta<br>Mera montage<br>Between land and sea<br>Trench engaged<br>What could be greater than a king?<br>Suited and booted<br>He commands the sea<br>Reunited<br>Everything i need<br><br>"Arthur" and "Atlantean Soldiers" are probably suitesJust want shrike death cue!I feel as though Menken did a bit more to differentiate his 2017 Beauty and the Beast from the 1991 one. The major pieces like "Prologue" and "Transformation" were left relatively intact but otherwise the rewrite was a bit more substantial than what Zimmer and crew did here. Compare the final battle music from the original (which consists to a large degree of upbeat instrumental versions of "Be Our Guest") to the remake (which is largely serious, straightforward orchestral action music). I haven't heard his new Aladdin so I'm not sure what the old:new ratio was there.<br><br>I'm not necessarily complaining, this is basically what I expected the score would be from the moment it was announced. The problem lies deeper, with the entire premise of these pointless remakes that allow very little wiggle room for freshness or creativity. Of course, I have no doubt this movie will make north of a billion dollars and give the Disney execs further license to print money. Maybe by the time they've remade every single film in their vault enough time will have passed that they can just start from the beginning again and nobody need ever be subject to the indignity of an original story ever again.

Thanks cubsimba! I just tried that with the stampede track, and it rather sounds like Joint Stereo than mono. Anyway, it is a lot better. Thanks so much again!!

Caephalo Trecca reply Replies: 0 || 2005-07-31 00:00:00
BTW isn't "--To Die For"-- the music from the scene where the hyenas complain to Scar that "--there's no food"-- and he tells them to eat Zazu? That's MY guess...

cubsimba reply Replies: 0 || 2005-07-31 00:00:00
You're right, that's where it's been used. I never noticed the little xylophone background beat in the movie during that scene but when I just checked the scene it was there, though barely audible :)

Here's a good and easy trick to enhance the mono tracks in a way they'll sound a lot better:

1) Open them in a sound editor (e.g. Goldwave) and select either of the two channels so you're working with just this one channel.

2) Cut approx. 40ms from the beginning of that channel and slightly emphasize this channel's low frequencies with an equalizer.

3) Now select only the other channel and slightly emphasize just the high frequences.

It's not quite stereo but it'll sound much wider :)

The quality if the stereo tracks is incredible, almost like the original soundtrack! Who needs "--King of Pride Rock"-- from the OST when here there's the magnificent "--The Return / Battle of Pride Rock / Cleansing Rain / The Ascension / End Credits"--? I just so love this track!!!

The tracks are pretty slow.
In fact, the guy who recorded made a mistake.
He pasted tracks from 48Khz to 44,1Khz (CD quality), that' why every track sound slow.
If you want to hear the track as it is supposed to be played, use a sound-editor (soundforge, goldwave, cubase...) copy-paste your actual song directly in a 48Khz file. And then, re-sample it as 44,1Khz.
Now The track plays at correct speed.

Such a thing is pretty strange... was it intentionnal ? Was it made for a longer album ?

Caephalo Trecca reply Replies: 0 || 2005-07-27 00:00:00
Yes - in fact, I used GoldWave to find out that the tracks have been slowed down by 0.10 <--insert units>-- so I sped them up again. I don't think changing from DAT quality to CD quality causes much loss in quality. Although I still don't understand why some tracks had to be mono....

Caephalo Trecca reply Replies: 0 || 2005-07-27 00:00:00
Some tracks were okay but the Battle ofn Pride Rock track sounded horrible without speeding it up...it almost made me go to sleep, so slow! :-P

Sicronis reply Replies: 0 || 2005-07-27 00:00:00
i have the score 2, but the mono tracks aren't very noticeable unless you turn on the mega bass, isn't it?

Caephalo Trecca reply Replies: 0 || 2005-07-25 00:00:00
Owners of both the original soundtrack and this score, compare the both and you'll realise how heavily even the little bit of music released on the official album was cut, mixed and edited :( "--This Land"-- is a mixture of the music from "--The Once and Future King"-- and "--You're Mufasa's Boy"--, the stampede music "--To Die For"-- was cut in more than 4 places and thus left out some sensational music, "--King of Pride Rock"-- skips out all the wonderful music from the battle scene. Probably "--Under the Stars"-- is the only track which escaped major cutting and editing.

Lord Villacio reply Replies: 0 || 2005-07-24 00:00:00
It seems that all the tracks dealing with scenes from the Stampede to Simba's meeting with Nala are in mono, not just tracks 9-15 or something like that. The proof is that the "--Setting the Trap"-- track, though at no: 2 here, is also in mono.

Caephalo Trecca reply Replies: 0 || 2005-07-23 00:00:00
By the way did you guys notice that the "--hyenas"-- track from the french version of the Lion King soundtrack is a mixture of the music from "--Plotting"--,"--The Elephant Graveyard"-- and "--Alternate 1"--. And the opening of the official "--King of Pride Rock"-- track is the opening of "--Kings of The Past"-- and the rest of the notes is from the Track 19.

Sure, I just got all the tracks, here's the table to help you:

Misnamed Track Exact Name
------------------- -------------
Track No: 2 "--Setting The Trap"--
Track No: 8 "--Be Prepared"--
Track No: 10 "--The Stampede"--

I don't think any other track is misnamed....but I don't know what scene is the music "--To Die For"-- and "--Hyenas"-- from. Can you guys please tell me?

Caephalo Trecca reply Replies: 0 || 2005-07-21 00:00:00
And yes, most of the tracks have been slowed down. I first sped them up using GoldWave and then burned them onto another CD :) and unfortunately, Track 2 and Tracks 9-15 are in mono --) but the blazer, Track 19 is of very decent quality, and that is what is important :)

X__Alien reply Replies: 0 || 2005-07-20 00:00:00
In fact, most of the tracks have wrong names. I'm hearing right now track 10 "--What Have You Done ? / Run Away"--, and it's the Stampede music (not like the original cd, but a close one).

Can someone post here the correct track names?

Caephalo Trecca reply Replies: 0 || 2005-07-18 00:00:00
hey, what music is the track "--To Die For"-- from this CD play?

jamadam reply Replies: 0 || 2005-07-18 00:00:00
that's right but the overall quality of the album is very good...........even if many tracks are in mono..........at least the whole score is there.......blablablablabla............etcetcetc........

Caephalo Trecca reply Replies: 0 || 2005-07-16 00:00:00
That's right, you can't expect a bootleg like this to be 100% good quality, and sure many tracks are in mono, but, nevetheless, this is the best bootleg released. I'm going nuts over it, I love it so much!!

Joey reply Replies: 0 || 2005-07-15 00:00:00
Tracks are not correct. some are mislabeled, the alternates are not alternates, but songs like "--be prepared"-- and "--can you feel the love tonight"--. with words, tracks exactly like the OST. "--circle of life"-- is just like the OST, alternate 3 is "--This Land"-- from the OST, alternate 4 is "--Under The Stars"-- from the OST.
some tracks are just mislabeled.
For example, some tracks, such as "--Life isnt fair, is it"-- (which, correctly should have been titled "--Life's NOT fair, is it"--) is not from that part of the movie. it is actually the Stampede Introduction.

after weeding out the OST tracks, renaming/reordering the tracks, you come out with a, 16 track 10-star, 192 bit rate, lion king extended bootleg score. Its not the Entire movie, but Totally worth it for Lion King Super-fans like me.

After hours of hunting I found the stampede track and lo! it was in mono.....I was do dissapointed!

Lord Villacio reply Replies: 0 || 2005-07-11 00:00:00
the Stampede track would have been better if they removed the loud gong strike and let the awesome percussion rule in the beginning, as it was in the movie (and of course made it stereo)

Lord Villacio reply Replies: 0 || 2005-07-11 00:00:00
isn't "--Life isn't Fair..."-- the music played just before the Stampede begins (Scar signals the hyenas)?? I thought it must be from the mouse scene....

Caephalo Trecca reply Replies: 0 || 2005-07-07 00:00:00
hey guys i found some tracks from this cd, I nearly fell in a swoon when I listened to Track 19!!!! It is SO wonderful!! The expanded Stampede track is cool too, only if it wasn't mono....k, see ya!

z67 reply Replies: 0 || 2005-06-30 00:00:00
Oops, never mind. Alternate 3 is "--This Land"-- and Alternate 4 is "--Under The Stars"-- (the songs from the original soundtrack). I'm not sure why those two songs are included, seeing as they're both already on this CD anyway (You're Mufasa's Boy, The Once And Future King).

z67 reply Replies: 0 || 2005-06-30 00:00:00
To the hans-zimmer.com team, I was wondering if you have a higher resolution version of the front cover, or even a back cover. Or anybody else who has the score - does anybody have bigger front and back covers?

z67 reply Replies: 0 || 2005-06-29 00:00:00
Okay, I figured out that Alternate 2 is actually "--Can You Feel the Love Tonight,"-- Alternate 3 is actually "--I Just Can't Wait To Be King"-- and Alternate 4 is "--Hakuna Matata."--
