Heitor Pereira, Satnam Ramgotra and Richard Harvey are credited musiciansSounds like a Zimmer version of the Top Gun Anthem to me. Whoever did it, it works!me who seldom watch any of these superhero movies and remakes went and saw the new aladdin last weekend.<br><br>based on my own experience of that remake i have come to the conclusion that maybe some of the reviewers are stuck-up and not open-minded? i did enjoy the new takes on some of the songs. the new movie felt like that. a new different movie to me. <br><br>i decided that i will go and watch these movies for myself now. and i would not watch (or listen to original scores) in advance to build up expectation. i will go and enjoy my time and the songs.<br><br>that's all &#175;\_(&#12484;)_/&#175; you can't please everyone. To be honest. I love the bonus score tracks, nut those remixes are a wazte of disc soace in my opinion. @Hybrid is this the combination of FYC promotional score + official release by LLL?Use your hybrid skills to unravel the mysteries of the score.Cuesheet is blank.oh yes please, including Balfe - don´t start yelling, I´m just really curious who did whatFinally! It would be nice to have composers credits
@DT<br>Disney definitely tries to put quality into their projects, which is why I admire them. As you’ve said, WDAS and Pixar are both churning out some excellent and original films. Even Marvel, despite its formula and flaws, tries new things with the films and stick closely to the source material. <br><br>The problem with the remakes is that they seem to be nothing more than cash-grabs that prey on nostalgia. If you are going to retell a beloved story at least try something different and exciting, instead of trying to copy/paste what everyone has seen. This is where I wish we could edit our comments.<br><br>Not only do you have WDAS doing mostly-new movies (I hesitate to say 'original') but you have Pixar doing them as well. Toy Story 4 was their last sequel for the foreseeable future, with them even eschewing the popular option of doing an Inside Out sequel for original projects.I feel like people are overreacting in a way that suggests these remakes have far more power than they actually do. The studio that makes them is separate from every other studio. WDAS is still creating new content and will be for many, many years to come, long after the remakes have had their heyday.<br><br>If anything, the proliferation of superhero films is far more likely to drown out originality on that front: there are multiple studios doing it.Order I went with for the album<br><br>Everything I Need (Film Version)<br>Arthur <br>Home Invasion (Bonus Track)<br>It Wasn't Meant To Be<br>Permission To Come Aboard<br>Ask the&#8239;Sea (Bonus Track)<br>Atlantean Soldiers<br>Ahab Waves (Bonus Track)<br>Saving Pops (Bonus Track)	Soundtrack	0	1<br>Swimming Lessons	<br>Kingdom of Atlantis<br>The Legend of Atlan	<br>The Ring of Fire	<br>What Does That Even Mean?Soundtrack	0	<br>Obligation (Bonus Track)	<br>Dunes (Bonus Track)	<br>Map In a Bottle<br>Mera&#8239;Montage	<br>The Black Manta	<br>Trench Engaged (From Kingdom of the Trench)	Soundtrack	0	<br>Reunited <br>What Could Be Greater Than a King?<br>Suited and Booted <br>Between Land and Sea <br>He Commands the Sea	<br>Ocean To Ocean (feat. The cue I want the most is “We Strike First”.
@Edmund<br>I can’t agree enough. These remakes suffer from the issue of being inferior to the original source material, mainly because they rely so heavily on copying the originals so heavily. I’m not necessarily against Disney updating their classics if they are willing to do new takes on the material. Take Jungle Book for example; they were able to do something fresh with the concept while keeping elements of the animated film. Even Maleficent, which I’m not crazy about, tried something new. <br><br>Another BIG issue I’ve noticed is the fact that they lean towards hiring actors who cannot sing, or at least cannot sing on the level required. Emma Watson, Will Smith, Chiwetel Ejiofor, etc.Best shot <br>It wasnt meant to be<br>Home invasion<br>Ahab waves (0:39-end)<br>Permission to come aboard?<br>Ask the sea<br>Ahab waves (0:00-0:38)<br>Saving pops<br>Swimming lessons<br>Kingdom of atlantis<br>Legend of atlan<br>Ring of fire<br>What does that even mean?<br>Ocean to ocean<br>Obligation<br>Dunes<br>Map in a bottle<br>Black manta<br>Mera montage<br>Between land and sea<br>Trench engaged<br>What could be greater than a king?<br>Suited and booted<br>He commands the sea<br>Reunited<br>Everything i need<br><br>"Arthur" and "Atlantean Soldiers" are probably suitesJust want shrike death cue!I feel as though Menken did a bit more to differentiate his 2017 Beauty and the Beast from the 1991 one. The major pieces like "Prologue" and "Transformation" were left relatively intact but otherwise the rewrite was a bit more substantial than what Zimmer and crew did here. Compare the final battle music from the original (which consists to a large degree of upbeat instrumental versions of "Be Our Guest") to the remake (which is largely serious, straightforward orchestral action music). I haven't heard his new Aladdin so I'm not sure what the old:new ratio was there.<br><br>I'm not necessarily complaining, this is basically what I expected the score would be from the moment it was announced. The problem lies deeper, with the entire premise of these pointless remakes that allow very little wiggle room for freshness or creativity. Of course, I have no doubt this movie will make north of a billion dollars and give the Disney execs further license to print money. Maybe by the time they've remade every single film in their vault enough time will have passed that they can just start from the beginning again and nobody need ever be subject to the indignity of an original story ever again. It's a variation of the theme Anthem from the first Top Gun film by Harold Faltermeyer.

There's a bunch of the african lyrics on here

http://www.lionking.org/lyrics/

...I just noticed that Pridelander already posted that hahaha. BTW <3 TLK and Hans Zimmer :)

And I have another website bookmarked on my old computer, it has a lot more of the African words on it. Unfortunately, I'm still in the process of resurrecting that stupid thing... I forgot to back up some kinda important music file and stuff, so if I happen upon the site again, I'll definitely post it ^-^

hi.. folks... to Pridelander... there is an additional ad zulu chant just as the lead female says the circle of life.. not the ingonyama chant.. and actually thats why i'm here.. i am also looking for the additional ad libs for the lion king songs that for some reason dont appear in the scores or lyrics... through my obssesiveness with the lionking.. and that we're putting on the play this summer... i have been able to fig out some.. but not all.. < i always thought it was swahili. :(.. prob cause Simba is swahili for lion.. so i just assumed that the other native tounges were swahili as well)... thanks for clearing that up barry.. Ingonyama is zulu for lion

if anyone knows the zulu adlibs please email them to me at T14309@hotmail.com.. cause i found this page by accident.. and'll prob have a hellova time findin it back

p.s... ladysasha.. if u haven't gotten the lyrics for this land under the stars and king of pride rock yet... email me and i'll email em to u.. or jus check the lyrics for lala, busa, and noyana and work your way through the lyrics like i did. they aren't the same lyrics from the film.. but there are some familliar words and phrases

this is what i can remeber from under the stars

"We sangoma ngi velelwe
We baba ngivelelwe
We baba ngivelelwe"....

This one is truly got to be his greatest of all time. The Lion King was superb. Every track was absolutely gorgeous. I love the powerful theme right before the tempo picks up and the voices come in in King of Pride Rock. Perfect!

Hey, my question is does anyone have the lyrics for "This Land", "King of Pride Rock" and "Under the Stars"? I love how it sounds, but I want to know exactly what they are saying, not a translation.
By the way, HANS ZIMMER RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Brian,
Here's Zulu lyrics of "Circle of Life"
(from http://www.lionking.org/lyrics/)

----
Nants ingonyama bagithi Baba
[Here comes a lion, Father]
Sithi uhm ingonyama
[Oh yes, it's a lion]

Nants ingonyama bagithi baba
Sithi uhhmm ingonyama
Ingonyama

Siyo Nqoba
[We're going to conquer]
Ingonyama
Ingonyama nengw' enamabala
[A lion and a leopard come to this open place]
----

You can also get some interesting facts from this website:

(Unfortunately it hasn't been updated long time :( )

Hi!, does anybody know what is the translation of the african lyrics in "Circle of Life"? Thanks!

Sylvos:
>the track called 'Hyenas' which was released on French version of the album but not on the US ones.

"Hyenas" was released not only on French version, but also on Japanese version, and German, Spanish, etc... It seems that all the foreign-dubbed versions have this additional score track, instead of Elton John's "Circle of Life" and "I Just Can't Wait to Be King".

I think they should have put "Hyenas" (and more score) in all versions and removed Elton John's terrible (imho) songs... Blame Disney Records, who think that all customers love only pop songs and don't want any 'boring' score! :(

Oh but don't get me wrong. I'm not saying Elton John songs are bad. Actually I admire his songwriting works for TLK. These songs are catchy and enjoyable. And his own version of "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" is beautiful and suitable for closing the movie.
Though, his version of "Circle of Life" and "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" are totally out of place on this album. I always skip these tracks.

And honestly, I think all the Elton's songs would've been out of place in the movie if they were not arranged by those talented arrangers(Hans Zimmer & Mark Mancina) :)

Also in the Italian version of the soundtrack there is the track "Hyenas"...

A simplistic, yet very powerful and effective score. It's always been a personal favorite, and easily qualifys for the greatest animated film soundtrack to date. I really never would have guessed that Zimmer's trademark use of heavy percussion would fit so well in this genre. And somehow, it does, and it works wonders.

One thing that was interesting about this release was the track called 'Hyenas' which was released on French version of the album but not on the US ones. I wonder why they decided to do this.

One of the best soundtracks ever. I really enjoyed it when I heard it for the first time and since then I have been listening to it over and over again. I believe that this soundtrack really deserved to win the Academy Award. My favourite song is "--Can You Feel The Love Tonight"-- and my favourite instrumental song is "--This land"-- and "--King of Pride Rock"--.
