I genuinely was surprised that they went with Richter in the first place. <br><br>Literally just came out of the movie and I can’t believe such a dull and generic score could come from the names attached. What happened? Other than that beautiful almost sweeping string theme (that went nowhere) - there’s nothing. <br>I kept waiting for the music to peak and reach a hundred but it never did. <br><br>It’s no Interstellar, no First Man, no Gravity, not even The Martian.Link to said theme? The synth man creating a mostly synthesizer score? what a shock...because that's what Hans doesMain theme is on Youtube. I quite like it. I prefer Hans doing themes like this rather than the stuff he is doing with FIFA.
I'm surprised no one is talking about this one, its one of Rupert's best scores imo.Lately I have been listening to the album carefully, and the truth is that I did not quite understand why Hans did not just use a big orchestra instead of the synthesizer. It would have really been interesting to see Ritcher scoring a chase on the photo, although without a doubt his work would not have been anything generic.Richter is a conceptual artist, I love his Leftovers score, but come one, scoring to picture ?<br><br>He writes pieces that are used in scenes, not the other way around...<br><br>Richter scoring a moon buggy chase ? Hell no... lol you could see from day one it was gonna be replaced...^ Yeah the edit floating around matches Felix’s almost to a T. Only major difference is <br><br>“Our Final Stand - Showdown - United Greece - Finale”<br><br>Which is broken up into four separate cues. Realistically you could edit it anyway you want if you prefer the smaller cues. Personally, I like the long suite-like format of this release. Kinda like the album release for “Event Horizon” lol.
I hope they at least release Richter's score. My Edit:<br><br>01. Hybrid can you tell us what album cues are the suites ?!well, from what Lorne wrote on Twitter, it should be releasedCool thanks for getting back! I am still a little bit confused though. Do any Basil Poledouris cues go somewhere in that list? It’s been a very very long time since I have seen the film. The Hans cues used are :<br><br>1M1 OPENING CREDITS / MAIN TITLE (USED FROM 2:18 TO 3:03)<br>1M2 GOLDEN STAIRCASE (USED FROM 0:00 TO 1:56)<br>2M2 JACK SEES WOLVES<br>2M3 BLACK WOLF<br>2M6 THE TREK CONTINUES (USED FROM 0:28 TO 1:15)<br>3M1 THIN ICE<br>3M2 SKUNKER'S DEATH<br>3M3 FULL MOON WOLF ATTACK<br>3M3A MORNING WOLF ATTACK<br>6M4 THE BEAR<br>6M4A THE BEAR ATTACK<br>7M3 IN THE STABLE<br>7M5 WHITE FANG FIGHTS SATAN<br>8M1 FIGHT MONTAGE (FIRST HALF USED)<br>8M3 PIT FIGHT (FINAL 20 SEC USED)<br><br>All the rest, by definition, is Basil's score...Hey hybrid soldier! You mentioned on the ghost in the shell page about white fang so I came here! Can you give us a list of the cues as they appear in the film please? The Basil Poledouris cues and the Hans Zimmer cues please

A very good compilation with Zimmer's early USA projects. Very good for beginner fans to have a "Zimmer-ish" idea. But for advanced fans, it's just a simple collection CD. I personally like the first volume because it contains unreleased material, rather than this. If I would have the opportunity to change the tracklisting I would add unreleased material from Rain Man and The Lion King which are very good soundtracks. Overall, think twice before buying this CD because you risk feel sorry later for the money.

I don't see any reason for this release for all these tracks have previously been released on seperate albums. If they really wanted to do something special they could have got some never-before released tracks from Hans' works during this period, especially The Lion King, not the ones that are already in print.

Oh well, they've already shown us what is meant by Official Expanded Scores of Hans Zimmer in the movie music industry with what we saw back as Gladiator Special Anniversary Edition, haven't they? *Shakes Head*

First saw this compilation in Borders® last Feb.2006.

I was compelled to buy it but it contained tracks from previous released scores, and not enough variety that challenged my collection.

Although they are good tracks from Zimmer's work from early 1990's through late 90s-- if you do not have these yet, these are good selections.

- As for commercials using Zimmer's work from other films, these music pieces are not directly in films associated with the commercials - it happens almost every trailers, commericials, promotions and teasers. Some producers may have obtained rights or already have rights to use Zimmer's and other Media Venture works.

i love hans zimmer. the last samurai is my favorite soundndtrack of all times. i know every note. listening to the "--memoirs of a geisha"-- commercials it seem to have part of hans zimmer's Samurai music in it , although he didn't do the soundtrack. i thiink someone is plaigerizing him? does anyone elso know what i'm talking about. 3/4 thru the tv commercial is absolutely the samurai theme. very upsetting. meri. c
