Finally this gets some sort of release outside of China !Well it's complicated cause on the first film it was done such in a hurry that some themes became more "situation themes" than "character themes". But yeah, there's a loooooooooooot !I did a breakdown for the hell of it a while back, the sheer amount of themes/motifs is astounding, not quite as many as Lord of the Rings or Star Wars but very close!<br><br>Itís tricky to really place some of the theme meanings in as much as they were repurposed for the other films through temp tracking.I was recently revisiting all of this scores and I was wondering...<br><br>Could anyone help me identify all of the themes from the whole saga and tell mewhat they represent?<br><br>I already got a lot of them like the Kraken, Davy Jones, Mermaids, the main theme, etc. But others are still a bit confusing on what they represent, like for example the theme Neely and Badelt created in the first movie that were used in the following movies.<br><br>Thanks in advance!why no cd release?
Haha! Wear the mask. how fitting.yap. and all of the alternates :PI want that "Final Confrontation" cue so much! Most of them are done actually and should have been released a while ago !Hybrid why is HZ scoring so many films lately, has he placed a bet with himself or something? lol<br><br>Looking forward to it. Boss Baby was a really fun score.
I'm confident he would care. Not saying he has any control over it. <br>I don't think Mondo should be making any money from this release. It ought to be canceled and removed from their website. <br><br>It's more than just a tempo issue. The tone is entirely off, and parts that were once pleasing to hear, now sound awful to my ears.<br><br>Seems Mondo is lacking the proper quality control. Hopefully this is a wake up call for them. If enough people avoid buying this album or return it, they'll get the message. I like to see capitalism work properly. <br>Maybe Pope is involved.Great news! The first one is fun, not Zimmerís best animated score imo but itís still pretty enjoyable. I almost wish they got Conrad Pope involved again, ďLoveĒ is one of the most beautiful cues of the past few years. The first one was quite pretty good.We knew Steve would return for quite some time, but I was surprised Hans would actually return too. But he's very involved with that one.
Who is Hans Zimmerman?i want it so much <3I guess it's only fair that they do shoulder the blame, considering again that releases like these aren't really the norm for them. I still wouldn't expect a recall and replacement, since it'd be a lot of money down the drain there. Their loss ultimately at the end of the day.<br><br>A bit disappointed about the content being the exact same as the leak, as I would've liked some of the film edits or at least the alt mixes I've seen pop up. I guess I'll just have to hope Disney does end up cooperating with LLL sooner than later. You gotta realize one thing, most of the time, Hans doesn't even know about these releases (and honestly I think he doesn't care). Only a few labels like LLL play ball and have him involved (but as Hans doesn't own most of his music, they have no other reason than courtesy to do so).<br><br>As for MI2, people who complained about the "content" instead of the tech aspect of it were goddamn wrong. Yes, the film mixes / OST mixes are pretty different. Because you have suites & sometimes material specifically arranged for the album or alternate cues.<br><br>Mondo having released the final mixes (and I know what Paramount provided them, it's just exactly the same 2 CD set copy that leaked years ago), I have no problem if the content is different.<br><br>And that's the topic on which they answered, James. Technically, they're not wrong, but they are ditching the REAL problem, for which they are responsible for ! The speed issue is on them, not on what they got.Considering the recent issues with the isolated score on Days of Thunder's 4K release sounding very inconsistent, I do wonder if Paramount has simply been poor in preserving stuff. Especially when they mention the studio and not the record label, which might've had a better copy on hand (they did finally put the OST on digital recently, after all).<br><br>I am not going to hold Mondo responsible for this, especially considering they normally do just press the regular OSTs onto LPs. I don't expect them to be fully privy to if a score sounds fine or not, since they're often just given the stuff prepared for them. Besides, repressing records would be a super expensive ordeal, especially with how limited they're often designed to be now.<br><br>And honestly: since no one has made the comparison to Sherlock 2 yet, how bad sounding is it really? I'd much rather it be slightly off than it being complete trash like the Perseverance release of Rain Man was. If HZ was able to let that slide once, then he won't be so worked up over a small tempo issue.

Great film made even more spectacular by the soundtrack. I watched the film around a year ago and I remember thinking the soundtrack was awesome. Recently I was walking through a room where the film was being shown and I stopped still in my tracks to listen to the music, Chevaliers de Sangreal what an amazing few moments! I bought the soundtrack shortly after and it's never been off. This piece and "Now we are free" from Gladiator are two of the most amazing scores I've ever heard.

Today I purchased the soundtrack from the motion picture 'The DaVinci Code' and although all the music is beautiful and has captured me, the number 13 piece has been played over and over in my home. Will you be doing the soundtrack for, but not sure, 'Angels and Demons?'

Thank you for letting me comment.

"Chevaliers de Sangreal" is without a doubt one of best modern classical works out there.

I truly wish Hans many years of success.

In the tradition of wondering where tracks are that aren't on the soundtrack (see "Twister"), I'm asking yet another question. I've listened to bits and pieces of the soundtrack - yes, I own it, and have for a little over a year now, but I've spent the majority of the time listening to track 13, great work Hans!!

When the promotional website first emerged, it contained EXTREMELY haunting music that I thought for sure would make it into the final cut of the movie -- sweeping orchestras, haunting choral arrangements. Imagine my surprise when I bought the CD and listened to the tracks -- there was a completely different set of themes.

The promotional arrangement of website themes and trailer music provides a hint as to what I was hoping for on this CD:

##########

From 1:09 to ~1:52 on the promotional arrangement the main theme of the website can be heard - when visiting the main page, looking at character profiles, etc. From 2:24 to 2:55 there's the Da Vinci Gallery music, which is the song I'm looking for. These tracks can be heard still by going to the Da Vinci Code movie website and clicking around. It seems hard to believe that these tracks were composed specifically for a website - they must be available somewhere in a full, high resolution form, either CD or mp3 or on a production music website. If these tracks are on the soundtrack CD itself, could someone let me know what tracks and times they are (like I said, I haven't listened to the whole of the soundtrack yet, even though I've listened to a great deal of it.) If the tracks aren't on the soundtrack, does anyone know where they might be located?

Thanks!! :)

WOW Unbelievablely moving piece, Chevaliers De Sangreal gave me goose bumps, it was absolutely PERFECT for the movie. I am not a man of very much emotion but that piece brought me to the brink. Standing O in my book.

Una pena que la mejor banda sonora del 2006, no sea ganadora del oscar. Sin duda se lo merece. Pero no te preocupes Hans; para nosotros tu eres el ganador. GRAN SCORE!! EXCELENTE!!! *abrazos*

I am a french fan of MediaVentures and more particularly of Hans since many years. This album is once again splendid and magic and marrie with wonder with the extraordinary work of Dan Brown.

Chevaliers of SangReal is one of the most beauty masterpiece of the album and the introduction recalls me Woad To Ruin of movie King Arthur.

I think this score "Chevaliers de Sangreal" is the most beautiful music I have ever heard in my entire life. It is soulful and godful. It brings you to tears. It is mysterious yet enlightening, sad but hopeful, peaceful yet energizing, soft yet strong. It takes your emotions on a journey you never knew they could take. I was drawn to the score while watching the movie and couldn't wait to hear more and to know more about the music and the composer. This song is so fitting for the film, yet magnanimous and lasting in its own right. I am so proud to know of a composer such as Hans Zimmer living and writing beautiful music in my time.

Thank you.

You inspire me to follow my destiny and to contribute what I can in my own little way to life on earth. Thank you so much for re-awakening my creativity and making me believe again in the gift of art in music, in words, in pictures, in imagination.

With your music you have made the world a better place.
