Does it even exist? <br>I spent the last hours digging but nothing. I always desired to hear some comments about it, like he does for the other works he's done.<br>I know it's a far stretch for Hans To release docu scores, but am really curious as to what Brave Miss World, Believer and Jalous of the Birds sound like...<br><br><br>@Mephariel<br>You can find Great Bear Rainforest on bleedingfingersmusic.com under Anze RozmanMondo only offered to send me a return label and a refund. This soundtrack is confusing me alot. All of a sudden Mr. Zimmer seems to have undressed his music from the great themes and by using austhere ones fills his score with a lot of underscore. Da Vinci Code was really good and I loved it to the core since it had that "classical" mood in its veins but this one is starting to worry me. In Da Vinci Code it was reasonable to fill up such a mysterious underscore since it was such a mystical & mysterious movie. But here I don't find the ambient really approriate. Most of the time that the rock guitar starts to play, the only thing that I want to do is to switch to the next track and hope that it will note start to play again.
The thematic material that is represented in the soundtrack is not bad, not bad at all, but sometimes I get the feeling that the soundtrack is missing something to connect one track to the other. Out of 100 I gave it 55 and I gave it such a low profile because I had been expecting a lot to come out of this score and I was dissapointed.
One very good & solid point in this soundtrack is again the rhytmic feel and the so complicated rhythms. I like them and just hope that Mr. Zimmer continues to be inspired to write such rhytms such as those in Crimson Tide, The Rock, Gladiator & this one.
I would like to see a Mr. Zimmer as concentrated as he was back then at 2000. At 2000 Mr. Zimmer used to concentrate all his forces at one score and thus he created the sensational Gladiator. Maybe the fact the nowadays he has so many thing to do in film productions and being so highly involved in all Media Ventures productions is not lefting him any time at all to concentrate and compose music as he did so well in 2000. Just hopes that Zimmer will re-concentrate and makes his mind in putting another big and huge score like Gladiator. One should see with what Zimmer will cone out in the next maybe 3 months. Hope to get an epic score with wonderfull thematic features, choir, Zimmer's Brass and now the GOTHIC ORGAN which I really fancied being thrown in this score with the other orchestal instruments. The Sound is getting Better, Just Hope that in the imminent Future we will be able to enjoy it with those Hummable Themes that Zimmer often used to offer.

I believe he uses Steinberg (www.steinberg.net) Quebase. As you can hear Harry Gregson-Williams talk about Zimmer teaching him to work with Quebase.

shen_ryu_law you mentioned one of the few moments featured in the soundtrack.
You must try to wait until the 7 minutes mark into the kraken track.....

I'm disappointed 'cause all of musics in the movie are not on the soundtrack, it's so bad. I loved the scene with the kraken eating the boat with Will turner on board and i've faith to ear it again... :'(

Hi !
I just want to say one thing... I think Hans Zimmer is the only composer that, when you see a movie where the music is from him, you never forget this music. That's Hans Zimmer's magic...!
(Excuse me for my English, I'm from Switzerland !)

I'm a great fan of Zimmer, and I find this new release a decent addition to his repetoire. I found that the themes the world loved were only presented for split seconds. After a while, it actually started to disgust me--to make me want more. Just as I think Zimmer will finally push it into an enriched and developed melody, it seems as though he kicks it aside... (Hello Beastie and I've Got My Eye On You and, well, pretty much all of them except Wheel of Fortune and Jack Sparrow. I will not even mention The Kraken) My only wish is that more dynamic and memorable melodies are used for a more complete movie. I found the soundtrack boring at times and my initial thoughts of the use of the electric guitar in The Kraken were terrible. But then, I saw its role in the movie and realized that it makes it more enjoyable. Great job overall! Although, I believe Badelt should have taken this project.

By the way...WHERE ARE THE THEMES I SWORE I HEARD IN THE MOVIE? I'd like to know how they wiggled out of the soundtrack. I heard some pretty good ones...Ah well...maybe next time.

Like DaVinciCode, i bought the score before seeing the movie ! What a pleasure to listen to it in the cinema, with a great sound ! We had the 'avant-premiere' yesterday evening , and what a blast in my face ! Frankly writing, i asked myself where you put the 7th track, i know now :-)))))

The 2nd track is the one i prefer !

This music can make newbies come to film score !
Each time i listen to it, i believe that i'm the conductor of the orchestra ;-))))

Hans, you mark the score cos your music was whistlable !

Hello reply Replies: 0 || 2006-07-31 00:00:00
The Score has some nice tracks, but I'm missing one. In the official trailer, when davy's ship breaks through the water surface, you hear the piece of music I'm missing. Is this track not on the CD? I'd really appreciate to hear the entire track.
btw: I also think the "He's a Pirate"-Remix, would not have been necessary ;)

erieman reply Replies: 0 || 2006-07-29 00:00:00
Much more thematic than POTC 1, Jack Sparrow's theme a good one. Matches perfectly the actor's portrayal. Yet I was dissapointed to see that there wasn't more of the "He's A Pirate" theme since that seems to be the one that has gotten the most play - certainly the most electronic dance versions!

GENIAL!!! CONGRATULATIONS ZIMMER ( Lo has vuelto a hecer). *Sorry for my comment in spanish*

I just bought the soundtrack to Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. I was impressed with the score. I love Hans Zimmers work. But the bonus track, that was a dissappointment.

Martin reply Replies: 0 || 2006-07-27 00:00:00
The number Hello Beastie can also be found on the King Arthurs Original Score, but does it matter, if it's the best music of the world. Listen and enjoy this great music.
No bad comment on the works of Hans, there is no better filmmusic composer!!
