As always with unused pieces of music. There are always be more interesting. Like with Dark Phoenix.I think what Lorne wrote for the last 30 min of the movie is way better than what ended in the movie... Lorne tried to elevate what was going on on screen, but it was probably too "bold" for the taste of production... They wanted to keep as "kow key" as possible but to me it made the ending of the film fall super flat...

In the end there isn't that much Lorne in the film (most of the "Moon" reel is Lorne though, that big 4 notes motif appearing during the moon landing and then takeoff). Ironically most of the droning you're all complaining about is not that much Lorne... lol

I really hope Lorne will put out as much music as possible, even all the unused parts, which are the more interesting ones !Taking in the movie now after having seen it. The cinematography is brilliant, and there are some interesting concepts that really will have you thinking long after walking out of the theater. Still, I couldnít help but feel like the film dragged throughout. Coupled with the voiceover the movie has a very ĎTerence Malick-yí, ďThin Red LineĒ feel throughout.

Iím definitely not familiar with Max Richter so I canít comment on what he might have written, but Balfeís broad-chord style is pretty recognizable throughout. There are also some interesting electronic pieces used throughout, possibly might be Balfe but hard to say as of now. The rest of the music is pretty contemplative, ranging from slow/emotional string pieces to more ambient droning.Well, I heard only Balfe's "Prayer" and Richter's "To the stars"... All I can say is we need to wait for the full release, hear both composers and only then talk about who better coped with this. (and watch the movie of course)
I don't think Balfe is a bad composer. He does pretty good as an additional composer but not as a leading (mostly). The only soundtrack that I consider the best to date in his solo career is "M:I-Fallout" and "Assassin's Creed III". (imo)
Who knows what will be this time. But for now I like Richter's track more.I'm just waiting for Gemini Man, that (i hope) would be fun
I love that cue.So I created a page for it, move away from Ghost In The Shell !! :PI wonder if this track is the one causing consternation: Nils Frahm: 'Says' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIwwjy4slI8

It sounds a bit like what Richter and Balfe could produce, but it is much more artistic than Balfe and much more synth-based than Richter. Frahm is credited for additional music.Not writing negative comments about Balfe for the purpose of writing negative comments - ie. trolling - but for the fact that Balfe does not seem to take film composition seriously. Goldsmith had a similar pace in the 1990s that equates to contemporary Balfe, but he managed to produce fantastic scores like Air Force One in a few weeks (yes, with some help from McNeeely). Balfe simply does not seem to have those skills so he resorts to cliches and drony nonsense. I await to be proven wrong. That Balfe track is not half-bad so I do maintain a general sense of expectation for this.Not any more lame than the Balfe cue
Lorne says it will be released and insists itís not a GITS situation.That's been standard in certain cases, though considerably less nowadays with how complicated these situations have become.

Having heard both tracks posted, both give me little on their own. I'm sure they work better in the context of the film, and we might see better tracks unveiled eventually.He deserve better.Hans and Lorne like twins. Lorne has a very good personality. I still don't understand why some people are still writing bad comments to Lorne?Probably... lolSo is this how itís gonna be? Official release for Richter and leaks by Balfe :(
Lorne posted a track from Ad Astra on his YouTube channelThank you. And i suppose "Need You Busting My Balls - End Credits" title would correspond to ASCAP "Need You Busting My Balls" + "RUSH END CREDITS", while "Just Married" to "RUSH MAIN ON END"?Thatís literally the best part of the score though. But itís typical Richter (Miss Sloane, Black Mirror: Nosedive).Hunt Drunken Weirdness is barely a cue actually, it's just a patch up of sound designs by Mel...

Italian Party is a name I made up for a cue that's not used in the movie ! :)In ASCAP there is a cue "HUNT DRUNKEN WEIRDNESS" - is this by a chance an alias to "Italian Party", which is absent in ASCAP. Though there are different credits Zimmer/Wesson vs Zimmer/Klebe.

I think the score by Jablonsky is a decent one. It has some impressive cues to it but the one thing that I really hate about it is its lack of originality. I mean come on the cues sound like Batman Begins, The Terminator, The Kraken Theme and several other Zimmer scores even King Arthur for goodness sake.

Jablonsky is talented but with this score you hardly ever hear any of it because all you hear is just a regurgitation of previous Zimmer scores.

Mr Jabsolnsky, thank you for making me cry with one of the most endearing, sweet, hopeful scores ever written.
I can say it is one that I will forever look back on as a
masterpiece.
Keep at the excellent work and I hope your music will grace the second Transformers film.
Thank you once again from an appreciative Badis in London. Good day to you sir.

The lyrics of Decepticons :

"I was wondering for a longer time now what the great lyrics in the "Decepticons theme" mean, and today, I found out: The Decepticons theme is influenced by the world famous Dies Irae. Jablonsky mixed it up, and uhm, well now you have a meaningless pot of words:

Low-voice-chant:
Tuba, mirum, Tuba, spargens
Tremor, David, mirum, ante

Chant which gets louder throughout:
Totum totum totum totum David
Totum spargens totum david
Totum quarens, sedisti totum

(I wasn't able to understand the rest of it.)

If ya would translate it, it would be something like this:

Trumpet, casts, Trumpet wondrous
Horror, David, Casts, before

Contained, contained, contained contained David
Contained wondrous contained David
Contained seeking, hope contained

So, it's all kinda nonsense (although the real Dies Irae has a biblical meaning behind it)."

Hi Steve,
As one of the participants who signed that petition Chris Knight had set up to support the release of the Transformers Score CD. I just wanted to thank you for making it a reality that we can enjoy such beautiful music at the comfort of our homes or even in our cars. I've been wanting this CD ever since I saw the movie on the big screen. I can tell this must be a very demanding CD because just about every store in Connecticut was out the moment they got them in. Hell some stores even told me they haven't even gotten copies yet. And that they are on the waiting list or back ordered. Just as I thought I wouldn't get the album that day. I made one final call to a store called Newbury Comics. The only store in CT. They said they had gotten only one copy in, and I got it thankfully. I was so happy, I felt like a little kid that gotten exactly what I wanted for Christmas. The music is so Beautiful that my girlfriend even wants a copy. Well I know what to get her for christmas now. I enjoyed every track of it. Especially the Arrival to earth track which I know that was the #1 requested track. And the Optimus Prime theme. The flute in the song would almost bring tears to my eyes. I hope sales do well enough for you to release that possible 2 disk set that I heard you might consider doing. I promise you if you do release it. I'm gonna take no chances and researve my copy. Thanks again Steve. And hope to hear that you'll be doing sequals. And I look forward to future music projects that you'll be doing for films.

"you can add : Deciphering the Signal (album) and Frenzy (album) as "alternate" takes at the end of your compilation."

Why did you save those for the end as alternates?

Levente reply Replies: 0 || 2007-10-12 00:00:00
Well I always tought Decepticons were two cues merged together. You can clearly hear where it were edited together. Well I think it is obvious, I can hear it, don't know who else.

This score is simply fabulous!!
The official cd is amazing. Pieces like 'Arrival to Earth'(Wonderful arrangement), the All Spark (Martin Tillman's Cello,Viva Armageddon) or BumbleBee are ones of the best musics i've heard on my life!

Felicitations Steve Jablonsky!

I have found the lyrics for Decepticons. It is on the Knight Shift webpage.

Mr Tweedy reply Replies: 0 || 2007-10-11 00:00:00
Hey Levente,

Decepticons IS the cue for all the Air Force One sequence.
The cue you mean, when Starscream attacks the Hoover dam is used later, and it is called, on the 52tracks bootleg, "Nokia Bot" (which is a wrong track title). But of course, it sounds a bit similar to the Decepticons / Main Frame Tampering cues.
Just check the CD and bootleg, "Decepticons" (at 2:14) segues to Main Frame Tampering (minus the beginning of the latest cue), and has the same progression until the end.

Amazon sent a letter everyone who ordered the score, that 1 from 3 weeks is the waiting time for the album. Transformers opened as the 3rd best selling soundtrack and it was in the top 30 for all music albums.

Levente reply Replies: 0 || 2007-10-11 00:00:00
Okay Mr. Tweedy I wans't exact the last time. The music I was talking about, Sector 7's soldiers and the soldiers from Quatar are preparing their weapons for the Decepticons in the Hoover Dam. And we hear a boom I think they hear Starscream attack. Then big silence and John Torturo character places a grenade in to his weapon while he still looks up. There were I was talking about that the second part of Decepticons were used.

Levente reply Replies: 0 || 2007-10-11 00:00:00
Sorry don't take it offensive.

Mr Tweedy reply Replies: 0 || 2007-10-11 00:00:00
No problem Levente ! I'll check it out.
In fact, the cue "Decepticons" seems to be written not for only one scene but as a "use it when you want to" cue for Michael Bay. Bay's editing sessions appears to be pretty chaotic, and it must be hard for composers to write cues for a precise scene !
I know parts of Decepticons are used during the Mars Transmission too. This is the same thing about "Soccent Attack", it can be heard twice : the first time during the Soccent Attack of course, and a second time when Megatron Awakens.

Mac reply Replies: 0 || 2007-10-11 00:00:00
This is a great score, true. But there are portions lifted wholesale from Batman Begins, The Island et. al.
Don't misunderstand, I like it and it's great for anyone who (like me) is a huge fan of the Media Ventures sound. The only qualm I have is when Jablonsky starts to shamelessly cannibalise other MV scores - this can't be a good thing. Top album nevertheless!

Levente reply Replies: 0 || 2007-10-11 00:00:00
"Main Frame Tampering (remove it because it's already the second part of "Decepticons", or maybe you enjoy listening the same stuff twice ! :P)"

Actually when Frenzy got busted, and security is looking for him Main Frame Tampering is heard. The second part of Decepticons, the percusion part I mean, is can be heard when everyone is in Sector 7 and they are preparing for the Decepticons. It is somewhere when Starscream attacks the Hoover Dam. Before they release Bumblebee.

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2007-10-11 00:00:00
Here's a good way to combine official and bootleg versions without having the same stuff twice. I already propose some alternate tracknames... I don't enjoy much those "fan made names" which sometimes sound a bit cheesy ! I definitely prefer names from the regular release. Try to prefer album versions instead of bootleg versions because they have a much better sound quality.

Autobots
Soldiers Arrive (/Osprey)
Bogey Approach
My Ladies
Under Attack - Transformer Takes Aim (/Soccent Attack)
Crazy Grandfather (/Arctic 1887)
Angry Camaro
Young Subject Matter (/Keller's Briefing)
The Lake (/Sam at the Lake)
Belly Shot
Pentagon to Air Force One (/Signal Analyse)
Decepticons
Main Frame Tampering (remove it because it's already the second part of "Decepticons", or maybe you enjoy listening the same stuff twice ! :P)
Camaro On the Run
Scorponok (official album is shorter but has much better quality... I prefer to keep the good quality one)
Sim in the Compact
Deciphering the Signal (bootleg ! not album version)
Satan's Camaro
Pink Bike Pursuit
Are You LadiesMan217 ?
We're Locked in (/Bumblebee Vs Barricade)
Arrival to Earth
Why Are You Here (/Cybertron)
Whitwicky House Pt. 1a (/Witwicky)
Whitwicky House Pt. 1b
Whitwicky House Pt. 2
Take Em and Bake Em Pt. 1
Take Em and Bake Em Pt. 2
Criminals Are Hot
Autobots to the Rescue
Not to Hear That
Simmons Takes It Off
Speaker Phone
When Feds Attack (/Sector 7)
When Feds Attack (/Bumblebee Captured)
Hoover Dam
Optimus
Frenzy Falls
People Are Going to Die Here
The All Spark (album version)
The All Spark (bootleg, should be renamed "Decepticons Mobilize Pt 1")
Nokia Bot (/Decepticons Mobilize Pt 2)
Bumblebee
Speeding Autos (/To Mission City)
Optimus Sword (/Freeway Fight)
F-22s to the City (/Downtown Battle)
Stumble Bumble Pt. 1
Stumble Bumble Pt. 2
Soldiers Retreat - Take the Cube (/You're a Soldier Now Pt 1)
Sam Takes Off - Optimus Hero (/You're a Soldier Now Pt 2)
Megatron vs Optimus (/Confrontation)
Mountain Dew (Sparked)
Sam in the Building
Surreal Mikaela
Sam Flares it On the Roof (/Sam on the Roof Pt 1)
Sam and Statues (/Sam on the Roof Pt 2)
No Sacrifice, No Victory (/Optimus Vs Megatron)
Sam Our Hero (/No Sacrifice, No Victory)

you can add : Deciphering the Signal (album) and Frenzy (album) as "alternate" takes at the end of your compilation.
