Same here, I want to re-live the whole film through score and there is so much more we havent heard yet. Keeping my fingers crossed.Just listen to all of it !!!! It’s a great classic soundtrack with cool electronics and great tunes- balfe is the topListen all the score and make the list yourself with the best moments for you, guy! Lolcan anybody recommend the absolute best themes on this score to me please! No he is not. It's just the musical palette created for all the futuristic scifi films that are inspired by what Vangelis did in 1982.
Balfe is doing a Reddit interview in 2 hours time . Hopefully we can get to the bottom of Why he replaced Pinar and Clint Mansell on Ghost in The ShellI totally agree with you. I was let down when I first heard the album. It's great but it's a selection of the score. I feel like they could've done a better job crafting the album.
Hell, something experimental like releasing the music as it is as a long (digital) track would've been interesting.

I think what made it difficult for them is how the tempo changes all the time, which might have resulted in an unpleasant listening experience (I think that might have been their point of view). For example, in the movie, the tempo of the cue "Home" changes a lot and some layers are taken out while the album version has a constant tempo.

Unfortunately, the number of people who noticed how unsatisfying this release is, is quite small, so there won't be anything official. Once again, we have to wait for leaks or bootlegs.also seems very like ghost in the shell. Did Balfe also help out on this score ?I can hear it
'Her Eyes were Green' gave me a heavy Arrival-vibe for example
Am I the Only one that feels Johánn Johánnsson touch everywere along this score?
Truly is the Vangelis reminiscense in each song, but the style is more near to Johánnsson than Wallfisch and of course Zimmer.
Could be Denis Villeneuve's suggestion, or maybe Benjamin has study Villeneuve last works, but is unquestionable that 2049 score sounds very Johánnsson.

Many people these days talking bad about 2049 score (No melodies, No Vangelis, All ambiance...), but the reality is that this work has perfect match with the rest of the film.

2049 is different to the original Blade Runner. Yes it has the same world and feeling, but is another director's vision, and the music follows (perfectly) the same way.
OK, there seems to be a regular edition at amazon and other retailers with the same content (2 CD) for a cheaper price than the limited one. It's nonsense. Will the record label pay me back a couple of bucks? I don't think it is ethical business at all.Saw the film last night and the music score was really good . Big and epic . It is how more scores shouldYou're right, matthew, but i'd said everyone here is used to this kind of album release with HZ/RCP, like The Thin Red Line or Inception with a lot of suites and not so much of the actual movie score. Personally i don't mind because I know the full score will be release some day and I really enjoy suites. However, I'm afraid there is nothing else to do that wait.

ps : i think Hans or RCP has no right to publish a full score (even they own), it's up to the studio--If they decide to release a proper FYC hopefully that will contain the film order/versions/unreleased/etc.

But I do agree, this is one of those scores that is tremendously improved by the film flow. Honestly I never understood the thinking behind putting out an album if you aren’t going to use the full 79 minutes it allows. Especially when you are missing cues which are vastly different from what’s presented. Why “Escape From Ship” or “No Time For Caution” weren’t there to begin with confuses me.Love Ocean Bloom. Hybrid, no release date yet for the album? The first episode is coming out in a week.
as a giant fucking fan of this movie, I can't put it into words just how lazy is this presentation of the actual music.

it annoys the shit out of me when I read comments on youtube, Itunes, Amazon and also here, like whats the opening music? and the stupid answer is from everybody: "oh yeah, you're looking for The Mole, thats the opening scene!" well, fuck, the movie opens with The Mole, but it goes on for only 2 minutes, and the rest 4 minutes is unused, and the actual 4 minutes after 2 minutes, from the opening is unreleased. it is a minor fact that seems 100% unnoticed by every person. because the music is non-stop in the film, I consider the opening from the logos, until we arrive to the beach.

Shivering Soldier is the first track that appears "as used in the film" form on the release.

Supermarine is a misleading action suite released before the premiere, because of marketing purposes, I think the studio was a bit scared, so they wanted to demonstrate that this is more of a summer blockbuster than a black and white war movie.

Home is the classic "different version in film" case, only to give Hybrid Soldier the chance to come here and give a defense speech about how Zimmer, Nolan, and every soul at warner bros, at water tower music, at remote control and every world-class star status earned professionals in hollywood couldn't make the "as used in film" presentation dream come true. the "no the time for caution" event is still comes hilariously amature from a creative business built on the words: "Make it happen"

include the bible and i agreeBalfe is with all this year.
Best tv score of the year: Genius
Best movie score of the year: Lego Batman
Best action score of the year: Geostorm
Best drama score of the year: Churchill
And best scifi score: Ghost in the shell
2017 has been a hell of a year for him
It really is an excellent soundtrack with cool action and big epic tunes .Thanks for reply. I asked Watertower Music and they said they did limited edition and that it may be sold out. I was looking if somebody got it from them or if it's just a mistake on their part.

Actually, the only thing composed by Hans Zimmer on the soundtrack was the Main Theme, which was Mark Mancina as well. I think he was also a music supervisor, but I don't remember for sure. What has been driving me mad is who wrote the Rhapsody?!? It doesn't say in the movie credits, and he album on iTunes says it is composed by "August Rush". Big help.... Shame, because that was a magnificent piece and I would have loved to look up the artist's other works. How is it that no one claims the song that stole the show?

Actually I bought the "August's Rhapsody" and it says Freddie Highmore & Mark Mancina. ;)

as a music lover, i liked the movie.......... i liked the way the kid Evan Taylor(as known in the movie) listens all the voices n noises that he hears n transformed it into music. the director or the story writer as i would say must be a great music lover. this is for the director of the movie.......... "way to go dude" keep doing this n u will be on the top within no time.

Why so little score? you'd think that a movie so musically driven would include more score or even an entire score album. I loved the music so much

The movie and the music as itself was pretty amazing, but the music actually took my own breath away. The music on the other hand....makes it the key on how it's made into a great movie
