It's nothing short of a masterpiece, a modern opera. The choir is beautiful, and the choice of gospel for the first track gives it a unique identity, though I'm not sure how well it meshes with the orchestra. It feels a bit off, but will hopefully improve for me on further listens.

The composition, has to me, elevated Powell to the status of the second best living composer (Williams is still first for now). It's pure orchestral beauty and mastery with variety of texture, color, and style, with seamless tonal transitions. The complexity rivals some of the great works of the past.

It's strange to me that this is called "choral works". Sure the choir is an important element, but it really should be named "Hubris Symphony", or "Hubris: The Opera", because that's the status the album deserves.My Attempt at a chronological order with edits (feel free to correct any mistakes or if I missed anything)

1. Rogue One is a bit of an odd one. From what I'd heard, Desplat had joined on the condition he'd be allowed to do his own thing and not ape Williams. But once they decided to overhaul the film, they pressured him to go that exact direction. Things stayed still for a while (in which he still got paid) before he was finally let go very late into production. So the idea he sorta just left is interesting, so I'm curious to hear what that was about.

For BW, it seems very likely to me that Marvel simply were unsure about Alexandre's music, so I'm guessing they hired Balfe to do some demos and decided from there. Who knows what the exact timeline is, but I'd wager it'd have to at least be this year if he's been on it a bit. Especially with AD's name having stayed on the posters during it.Hybrid, Desplat left Rogue One just for his own idea? I know he left that movie beacuse schedule conflict for the reshoots.
But for Black Widow seems that the replacement was since months ago with Lorne writing and recording the score at the same timeht tp:// filmmusicreporter. com/2020/04/01/ track-list-for-disneys-live-action-mulan -soundtrack-album-revealed/

Why release a tracklist for an album that won't be released for another 6 months at least. That's just a punch in the gut, in my opinionSo it won't be a last minute and hasty job?No idea but he was on it for a bit, I think.
Hybrid, do you know how long Lorne had to score?Score is recorded already.Yup, which makes me wonder if they had to wait before announcing it, considering Desplat was still being listed in posters prior to the delay.I think Lorne teased this some time ago by sending a picture of researching Russian music on insta (maybe)Hello,

I'm looking for the translation of the song God Yu Tekkem Laef Blong Mi in English of French.

Could anyone help me ?

Thank you !

jajajajaja ok Hybrid if you said so. For information, the expanded score of 28 tracks is a fake version. But, whatever you say, i imagine that you the real complete score. jajajajajaajajaja

I just pity you for your childish attitude.
Je ne vous salue pas monsieur!

black beard the pirate2011-10-26 15:02:31
This model does not talk about ways to score. Why do you insist on the release of pirated track list? I do not do a thing, I hope you will understand all of the destruction.

There is a legitimate, longer version of JUMPER. It runs 48 minutes, 10 seconds and is 25 tracks. It is however missing 12 cues.

Anthony reply Replies: 0 || 2008-04-13 00:00:00
Yes it's fake. It's not expanded at all. Some person just thought cutting up bits of the OST to "make" the unreleased cues was a clever idea.

nash reply Replies: 0 || 2008-04-13 00:00:00
just a question about the expanded that is floating around, is it fake or not???

Cloud reply Replies: 0 || 2008-03-09 00:00:00
Whoa, what a disappointment. I have to agree with other people here, it seems just like an album full of dull underscore. Haven't seen the movie, but I certainly hope it works at least there if not on album. Oh well, maybe next time ;)

what is the name of actual song which is sang in the movie and who sings it?

Anthony reply Replies: 0 || 2008-02-14 00:00:00
In all honesty, 3/4 of this is rather flat. It still brought a few minutes of nice music into the world though.

wtf? this is the most boring JP score ever... 44 minutes of underscore :-(

Bring on Stop Loss and Hancock!

Sylvos reply Replies: 0 || 2008-02-12 00:00:00
It looks like there were loads of short cues in this score. All those 3 or 4 minute tracks in this album are made from several smaller cues. I'm guessing that if they weren't made into those 4 minute suite-like tracks, it would definitely be a 30+ track album.

Anthony reply Replies: 0 || 2008-02-12 00:00:00
Haha, we did EXACTLY the same for number 19. ;)
