Isn't his problem when people like Bruckheimer wanted a specific sound and give no freedom in his movies.

He works for what is given.I think Lorne already has enough noise behind her, for my liking I should start to give way to quality instead of quantity.ASCAP shows that "Farewell To Lilliput" is credited to Jackman/Willis. Is it correct or there is only Jackman? Just thought may be there is a typo on the site.Any news on the soundtrack for Jack Ryan season 2?I was hoping for Ramin Djawadi to compose The Eternals, well Joseph Trapanese is a good composer so its good news.
John powell is flying lowkey now which sucks, His X3 score is just jaw dropping. The Eternals would be perfect for him cause he'd make it epic but Joseph Trapanese is scoring that Surprised Jablonsky hasn't tackled DC or Marvel yet eitherDamn i miss Klaus, he needs a damn come back. Stupid talentedpush...

please add them...Iíve talked to Lorne (we follow each other on Instagram), he says heís very open to doing a superhero movie.

Plus, Henry Jackman tackling Black Widow isnít a surprise, but itís pleasant news indeed. Heís scored for her during Winter Soldier, so I hope we get an expansion of whatever thematic material there was for her in the Captain America films.

P.S, itís long overdue for Powell to score another superhero movie. X3: The Last Stand is a solid score and Iíd like to hear his ideas for a MARVEL or DC film.He has only had two films get released though this year ?What has IMDB got to do with it ?
I mean 7 films and 2 tv shows from his IMDB with upcoming projects.@James Lorne did 7 films this year and last project will be 6 Underground in December 2019. Also, He has 9 projects with 6 films and 2 tv shows, I checked out from his IMDB with upcoming projects. How many films has Balfeís done this year ?Whatís wrong with Gemini Man?I would love to see Lorne in a superhero movie, but the truth is that his calendar is very changing and that is not good, since it gives the feeling that one day he is making a movie and the next day a different one, and it gives me the feeling that you don't just squeeze the potential of a movie. (I prefer to make a series and a movie and make it spectacular, to make eight movies like Gemini man)
Yeah, I always thought that would be the case for the Academy Awards. Don't know about others but if it's not eligable for the Oscars I can't see Disney submitting it for consideration at any other awards either. Could be wrong - I have the vague notion BATB got an FYC despite being ineligable.

Best thing to hope for is either a leak of the 'sessions' or a future official expanded score release.John Powell composing the eternals would be a dream come true. Itíd be so amazing. I also want Lorne to compose a super hero movie but he has yet to do one which is very odd considering how popular he isvery underrated score - you can't change my mindHenry Jackman seems to be composing Black Widow, it's great news. The bad thing is that Joseph Trapanese composes The Eternals, would have preferred Powell or has one of the Gregson Williams brothers (preferably Harry).Zimmer himself confirmed on Facebook that this score wouldn't be eligible.

Sorry about that, it just seems that people are really eager to get the Batman Begins complete score, so much so talkback on it is leaking onto the Dark Knight Score. Just goes to how how badly folk want it.

I wont post the link to the sites either, and chances are it is just another fake but it looked kind of legit. Anyone can really find it if you google "Batman Begins complete score". Apparently the owner of the site was only able to get a copy of the track listing/artwork.

I'm just waiting for all the "We need a Dark Knight Complete score" talkback starting. It's bound to happen seeing as theres about 2 and a half hours of music in The Dark Knight lol. Really looking forward to it. The new score is epic!!

Congrats on "Escalating" the score from Batman Bagins Mr Zimmer and Mr Howard

I'm glad I already pre-ordered the album, because the audio quality of the leaked album is lower than what I like and there are moments when it seems like the audio hasn't been smoothed over or run through the appropriate filters or edited. Maybe it's just a leak of the unfinished thing, like a wooden table just before it's been stained.

Hey can anyone tell me if they remember the theme from Batman Begins that played when bruce plays the piano to open the batcave doors? Does that apprear on the cd? And if so does it sound like it did in Batman Begins? I loved that theme

"Hey can anyone tell me if they remember the theme from Batman Begins that played when bruce plays the piano to open the batcave doors?"

Dear Matt, the theme you are looking for is heard on Batman Begins expanded score, "End Credits", (which I call "Ametrida", to corelate with other BB track titles). I'm not sure if that particular theme is heard on The Dark Knight soundtrack, but I think it is not there. Perhaps in the movie, so that would mean we will have to wait for The Dark Knight Complete Score.

By the way, does anyone know if there is Batman Begins Complete Score, beside the regular and expanded ones? I mean, the BB score is amazing and it would be pity not to hear every single note from it, because there we some pretty cool themes not heard on the regular score, or the expanded one (which is actually the regular with only track order changed plus few official score edits - pretty dumb, ha?).

Bring on Batman Begins Complete Score!!!

Cheers!

Matt, sorry, I realized later I had made a mistake. The theme I mentioned is when Alfred plays the piano while the mansion is burning, not Bruce. We should wait for a Complete Score to appear to hear that outstanding theme!

I'm in Australia and just got a copy of the soundtrack and all I can say is that it is a masterpiece! The opening track "Why So Serious?" is harsh, brutal and down right chilling, but like every track, there is a constant pulse to the music. "Like A Dog Chasing Cars" will be a highlight for many action score fans and "Harvey Two-Face" is just so full of honest passion! The end track "A Dark Knight" is 16 minutes of pure beauty, power and menace and i'd pay huge bucks just to have that one piece of music. It is by far one of the most brilliant pieces of music I have ever heard! "The Dark Knight" score is one of the most innovative and compelling scores I have ever heard. It may sound crazy but every time the Joker's theme comes in, I get a cheeky smile on my face. It is pure genius! This is a score for people who understand and appreciate the realm of sound design aswell as music itself. If this score doesn't take you to the deepest, darkest, adventurous thoughts of your mind then there is seriously something wrong with you! ;) As the Joker would say... "Why So Serious?".
This soundtrack is an absolute must for any music fan! Take care all.. :)

The originality of the score is amazing. I love how it still has strong ties to the first BB score, so it's more of a musical evolution than a sequel score. The duo didn't throw much out but instead added upon it and built it in layers. I love the dynamics introduced by combining Jame's pule elegance with Zimmer's very brash bombastico style. In my opinion this is by far the most intrigueing and dark scores ever written. Applaude gentleman, we've just heard the work of masters.

I have the leaked soundtrack and "A Dark Knight" seems to be screwed up at the last few minutes. It seems to skip a lot for some reason

"And No It isn't a Theme Of John god damn williams why should howard take a theme from a composer not as genius as him"

First of all, John Williams IS the GREATEST COMPOSER EVER! However, the theme heard in "Harvey Two-Face" is NOT from "Hook". That is simply a musical idea, or a motif, which occured to James Newton Howard, which concidentally sounds like a theme from "Hook". But, frankly, I cannot recall any such theme in "Hook".

By the way, The Dark Knight music is so good, I already have it pre-ordered at Amazon.com weeks ago!

I think this soundtrack has more action than Batman Begins, also BB themes are here somewhat more developed and much more defined, as if Hans and James attentionally did not allow those themes in BB to fully develop, thus emphasizing the movie's "Begins" character. Here, Batman is stronger, more defined, non-compomising and such is the music, as well.

The theme for the Joker is excellent. It depicts the character as not just some clown, but rather as a real psychotic murderer, also prone to theatricality as is Batman.

"Blood on My Hands" is one of the reare good love themes heard in 2008, or in couple of years. Harvey's theme is very good, nice, ellegant, but foreboding. Newton Howard used one of the themes from Batman Begins for Harvey Dent.

"Like a Dog Chasing Cars" is yet another brilliantly composed chase sequence theme, almost as a sequel to "Molossus" (which I call "Rooftops and Highways").

"A Dark Knight" could have been more thematically developed. However, I should wait for the CD to arrive to judge on that one.

So far, I'm not disappointed. The movie will be undoubtedly the best Batman movie and the best of 2008. Great work!

Cheers!

I'm sorry, I meant "intentionally" instead of "attentionally". Lapsus! :-)

I don't think so, it's a masterful sequel score. People who liked the Batman Begins score are going to love this one.

I listen the score and I'm a little disapointed to no hear real new things! The score is always between Da Vinci Code, King Arthur and some scores of James Newton Howard and there is cues very exciting (I think "Like A Dog Chasing Cars" and "A Dark Knight") but some tracks like "Why So Serious?" or "Blood On My Hands " are definitely boring).
However, it's a pleasure for those who have like the "Batman Begins" score. The themes are here and with a good arrangement but it lacks a piece of novelty.
But maybe 'Dark Knight' is the "Dead man's Chest" of Christopher Nolan's Batman serie.
I wait his "World's End".
Now, it seems that music of "Dark Knight" is very effective in the movie and it's the main objective!! :D

I heard the leak, and even though I was waiting for something more I still think it's brilliant and it grows on you. Just one wasn't there s theme for Harvey Dent that James Newton Howard worked on while Hans worked on the Joker's? I'm just asking

Tracks like "Harvey Two-Face", "Agressive Expansion", "Like a dog chasing cars" or "A Dark knight" are really brilliant. However maybe I'm a little bit disappointed by the rest of the soundtrack; although I think the Joker's theme will be perfect in the movie, it's really unlistenable as a music cue... (forgive my uncertain english I'm french^^)
