and Zimmer was also involved in this movie as if it was in the previous ones?
======================

Hmm, I don't think Hans was involved here. He helped on TF4 and did some work on TF2 (to what extent I don't know) but that's pretty much it. Then again, Hans seems to be always around when it's a Michael Bay production.... :)and Zimmer was also involved in this movie as if it was in the previous ones?Really waiting for this soundtrack and hope Wallfisch will bring new vision into Hellboy universe.@Hybrid thanks a lot for your answers and your detective work!
Funny to see that Lorne does that much uncredited help (I know it’s only the tip of the iceberg, and that he isn’t the only one, as Bayhem said the rcp composers must help each other every time...)Please Hybrid. Make a forum with register members.
It and A Cure For Wellness by Benjamin Wallfisch.
.....................

Well, I'll be goddamned! I totally forgot about 'A Cure For Wellness'. I absolutely loved the movie and yes, the score is truly great and memorable, especially the main theme. Wallfisch knocked it out of the park with that one.

It seems that every time Gore Verbinski makes a horror movie we're treated with a great score. First it was 'The Ring' - which IMO is one of the best horror scores ever - and more recently 'A Cure For Wellness'. Both very immersive, creepy and atmospheric scores. Exactly the type of horror scores that I love.I think it's safe to say that the power anthems and the tracks that were very much an homage to the 90's MV/RC sound were done by Jablonsky. Balfe was never a "power anthem" type of composer. He's more like John Powell, while Steve is more like Hans. Steve has embraced the MV/RC sound, while Lorne is more "reserved".

That's why I'm extremely curious to hear Lorne's music for SIX UNDERGROUND. The 13 Hours score is great but it was very, for lack of a better word, contained. Which is understandable, considering the subject matter. But Six Underground is a huge balls-to-the-wall action adventure that takes place all over the world and Lorne really has a shot to go as wild and big as he can. I'm sure Bay would love that :)We'll see...When is the new website gonna be up? and will there be a forum with registered members?I remember seeing discussion several times on this forum about how Lorne would often reply to people on his social media accounts when they asked him for his credits in the scores he did additional music for. So does anyone have any credits that he or other composers have shared about this film?
This feature will be gone from the future website, AT LAST...I just saw the show last night in London and loved the visual integration of the movies into the show .

Overall I reckon I preferred his show last time in London as he did not do interstellar which was really disappointing for me :( I also wish he did more tracks from the dark knight series as they were my faves at his last show.

In all the soundtracks the voters give very low note. You are a gang of unhappy people.Probably.Are there any other tracks in the album which were composed by Balfe? Just wondering...
I assumed you meant the forums themselves. I knew composer websites were a way to find their credits, I just didn't think to do it for this score yet for some reason.See the guys uotop listed next to jablonsky? click their names and go to their websites. You have to do the work. But there they are. Right on this site.^ Have to agree with you there. It’s not a terrible film by any means, but given the concept it is surprisingly bland. There were so many opportunities to do something cool with the dream concept, but it felt to me like they played it “safe”. And yes, the characters are extremely forgettable. I will give credit to Jackie Earl Haley, he does a pretty good job with the material he is given.

And I just remembered 2 excellent horror scores from the past few years:
It and A Cure For Wellness by Benjamin Wallfisch."Luke Richards did “Ospreys” and Gary Dworetsky did “Calling All Autobots”. You can find that out from this very site."

I've looked through this thread several times and I never saw that information, but I appreciate you filling me in! And yeah, Hybrid, it is kind of difficult for me to distinguish between Lorne and Steve's TF styles. They both kind of blend in since the style was established with their heavy collaboration in the first 2 films.
The music is good, definitely better than Amityville (which I never found scary or interesting). The overuse of the cello and ambient/atonal cues gets annoying at times, but unlike a lot of modern horror there is real substance here. A decent amount of themes (but not too many), some decent suspenseful ostinato bits, good use of children's choir, and good thematic development. I don't have any interest in Steve's ambient horror scores because I really dislike that type of music.

As for the remake it's really mixed for me. There are genuinely creepy visuals and ideas, but with often poor execution. My go-to example is there's a great dream sequence with "not-Johnny Depp" in the library with dream-like visuals such as Freddy turning around inhumanly quickly. But that final visual is accompanied by a jump-scare for no reason and completely kills the impact of it. If his turning was completely silent, it would have been much more terrifying.

Jackie Earle Haley did a really good job as Freddy, (especially in the alternate ending), and Rooney Mara executed the material she was given very well. But unfortunately the characters are bland, all fitting into the emo/hipster teenager stereotype and little else. It also doesn't help that much of the deleted and alternate scenes ended up being much more interesting than the final ones we were stuck with, (Hospital Opening, Dean's original death scenes, and Alternate Ending).

Compatto2015-09-02 11:13:39
In my opinion this is the worst score of the franchise. Electronic chaos.

Leo2015-09-02 17:42:58
I don't know, I think it fits the theme of chaos and revenge the game portrays, and the electronic 80's vibe in some of the tracks is quite good, lol :P

It seems Justin Burnett has receive full credit for composing Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain...
I'm not sure what to feel right now, Harry Gregson-Williams became the soundtrack producer, and no sign of Akirhiro Honda or Ludwig Forsell

Hybrid Soldier2015-06-15 23:34:08
That's true... Well there are 2 different teams on the project, usually the "Hollywood" one and the japanese one (like MGS 2 & 3 (HGW / Hibino)...

The US one usually gets all the attention in the trailer, but I can assure you Forsell and the rest of the japanese team did its share ! :)

Boldizar2015-06-16 03:03:35
Yea Hibino is always around creating the awesome in game tracks.

Leo2015-06-16 05:21:31
Do you happen to know if Burnett, Harry, Lurwig or Honda composed the what it seems to be the theme for Quiet in this trailer?

TheDude2015-06-16 12:00:39
Well, Ludvig's credited as "Lead Composer" check out the screen towards the end of the trailer with all the finer print credits.

I love this soundtrack! I'm Harry Gregson-Williams's number 1 fan!

However, I can't believe he was confirmed to be the composer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, because I don't like the films. But who am I to judge. He always surprises me. Let's see how he does it with the next Twilight movie.

I probably considered this weakest out of the series. The music in this game isn't that great, except for a few parts. Though I do have to say metal gear solid soundtrack is probably by far just a synth soundtrack for background listenining. Metal Gear Solid 3 proves that HGW can do a great job to these series. I also understand that HGW did not do the first metal gear solid and thats why it failed in the music department in my opinion.

Deakins reply Replies: 0 || 2008-06-16 00:00:00
Good score, but very synthetic and not very original. A pure "Remote Control" productions style. HGW was better a few years ago. When he composes in the pure action-style, he's not original and very good. But it's a game score, not a movie score.. He'll never accomplish a good performance like "Metal Gear 2" and his arrangement of Tappy's theme..

starberry reply Replies: 0 || 2008-06-04 00:00:00
so, uh, what is the official word on the status of a "main theme"?

Cloud reply Replies: 0 || 2008-06-04 00:00:00
What do you mean official word? The main theme is probably HGW's cue from MGS3 as plagued said. Who knows why they decided not to go with TAPPY's original MGS theme this time. Maybe it's because of the accusations of plagiarism or they just thought they'd give old Snake a bit more nostalgic tone...? Anyway, I have to say I felt HGW's score to be quite overshadowed by KONAMI's own composers' score this time. Never thought I'd say something like that.

plagued reply Replies: 0 || 2008-06-03 00:00:00
the main theme has been cut from this score.. the cue HGW wrote for MGS3 (before the main/classic theme cuts in at the end) is the only thing that carried over to MGS4

Michael reply Replies: 0 || 2008-06-03 00:00:00
As of now, the soundtrack will only be released with the limited edition of MGS4. I don't think it will be the entire soundtrack though.
