I agree guys. Yhis album and parts of the experiments are vey enjoyable. I tend to listen to OST prriodically, and each year there is one or severall scores that replace what I listen the most, and so on... but Dark phoenix is one I can listen every time.
I made personal suites assembling music from the OST and mixing it with expremients, and it results in a 50 min suites album, I really like it.Same for me. I'm so happy ! :DA Celebration? It's actually on youtube now.Got it. I assumed as much for the first 3. Thanks.hahahaha ... crack, sorry. Well so far there is no news of anything. Only the video that one track and one with Dave, but it's a preview.
I'm not sure how to get news on this, I really would like to get it hahaha.
Isabel Suite = Isabel the Strong
Thadeous Suite = Thadeous
The Quest Suite = Let Us Quest!

End credits is probably ripped from the film.> Fair enough, but I know for a fact that Steve was inspired by Harry Potter because of the complete score track "Tavern Fighting (Part 1)". The end of that track has a direct reference to The Chamber of Secrets theme from the second film.

Nice catch. Those are very similar.

Btw, I have some "expanded" version of the score, which seems to be identical to the complete score on this site, aside from the fact that it's missing the last 4 tracks. Do those have equivalents in the regular release?Yes, I was referring to A Celebration. "It's out there" as in "it can be obtained unofficially". Were you referring to the Sia track? That is on Bleeding Fingers' site.no, but you can find it on the bleeding fingers page.
it also doesn't look like planet eart: a celebration has a release :(Well, it's out there. Looks like no official release?

I really hope this starts a trend...

I imagine having your own label-thing helps for stuff like expanded releases and sheet music?can you produce track for me?How do I become your apprentice? tremblayliam@yahoo.comGreenland is so good!

Nice mix between kids choir, electronics and orchestra, remind me to San Andreas a little.Never listen the complete score, so i can't comment about that
Fair enough, but I know for a fact that Steve was inspired by Harry Potter because of the complete score track "Tavern Fighting (Part 1)". The end of that track has a direct reference to The Chamber of Secrets theme from the second film.I GOT HIS AUTOGRAPH!!!!!!Dark Phoneix is more playable than Dunkirk, more thematic in my opinion, and don't agree with that opinions saying are the same, specially when Dark Phoenix has more in common with the early 2010s and some of the 90s score by Zimmer.I don't find the similarities between Playful Secrets and Home Alone, mostly the track (and the most part of the score) reminds more to Danny Elfman than John Williams, even Goldsmith, which his synthesizers sounds, are pretty unique, much more than Jablonsky in this score, but i give that sounds like a 80s synthesizer.Please Inception be next!!
There are tons of music in the film that didn't make it to the soundtrack.

Hybrid do you know what Henry did on this score? His cue list on ASCAP for it has been deleted.

Did anyone noticed that the guitar cue when Hancock and Mary are dying is similar to Powell's showreel's "Music for the End of the World - Face, Hope and Charity", with a different arrangement ?

It's really interesting, because John Powell used many of the demos from his 1998's showreel in his career during the last 10 years (and especially from his "Music for the End of the World".
This is the case for Antz, Chicken Run, Just Visiting, Hancock and now Bolt ! A great part of his career is made out of this showreel's ideas.

iluminat I guess you're talking about the sound when he's alone in his trailer... It's my favourite too :p
It's called : Rachel's - Water From the Same Source
Enjoy

I don't know if it's going to be unreleased score or a song, but nothing from that scene is on the soundtrack.

As Cloud mentioned, check IMDB.

Cloud reply Replies: 0 || 2008-08-21 00:00:00
Why don't you just take a look at imdb?

The one piece of unreleased music that stood out to me was the movie version of "The Trailer". Totally different from what's on the CD and much, much better.

Amazing soundtrack, as always from one of my fave composers! I was just bummed to see the cue with the cello is not in it, that sort of mellow one that happens about 1/3rd into the movie...

This soundtrack is very exciting. Great work, oh yes. Its been a pleasure, Mr. Powell.

Anthony reply Replies: 0 || 2008-07-21 00:00:00
Lono, the cue you mention (the Superman knock-off) is unreleased.

Lono reply Replies: 0 || 2008-07-21 00:00:00
Anthony - thanks for your comment, but I actually meant the music that starts before the Superman-esque cue. It is more of a low pitched growling affair that builds as the robbers are shooting at the police, then ends on the shot of the robber holding the deadman switch. The generic superhero cue starts a few seconds after this.

I guess it's fated to remain unreleased also though... Shame. Powell excels in that vein of suspense/tension cues, a la Face/Off.

Lono reply Replies: 0 || 2008-07-20 00:00:00
There is a cue in the film that starts when Hancock is in prison and is told he has a phone call from the Chief of Police, builds while he is shaving, then bridges into the siege outside the bank. This was my favourite piece of music in the whole score, yet it is not on the soundtrack album. Does anyone have any information?

Thanks in advance,

Lono

DemonStar reply Replies: 0 || 2008-07-02 00:00:00
The Moon and The Superhero is gonna be one of the best Powell tracks of the year, I can tell. The rest of the score is pretty good too, though it's not really the kind of stuff I like to play a lot. 3.5 out of 5 I guess.

Peter reply Replies: 0 || 2008-07-02 00:00:00
The beginning of that excerpt of track 19 reminds me a bit too much of Elfman's Spider-Man score, but other than that it sounds like a great score.
