An awesome venue would be the Opera House in Odessa.Want this so bad!!!Does anyone have a breakdown of this with the official score album?<br>Hats off to Batu Sener for working on many of the score's best cues though!It all comes to personal preference I think. Personally I’ve moved on from collecting cd’s (or anything really) and would rather have everything digital simply to utilize space. <br><br>That being said, I completely understand the appeals of having physical media, it would be sad to see that go away for the people who really love it.
It's not only to appreciate the work, its to have something "real" in your hands, for your music collection. I don't like only to have a digital music archive. Of course, i rip all the cds i own to WAV and MP3. But i want to have them in my physical music collection.These day, sure. But we usually get news of the next one by the time he's finished wrapping up the current one.Powell only does 1 score a year.Still no news on his next score? Is he taking a break or something? Working on more concert stuff?Was pleasantly surprised by this one when I first heard it. Outside of the ‘modern scoring’ portions you get some fun noir music for the squad, solid action writing, and even some good emotional cues.<br><br>Also gotta love the rhythmic idea from Antz popping up here...
Also, the use of the guitars by Jablonsky, are still the best since the 90sI give a spin (almost 4 years after my last listening), it grown on me (still don't consider of the best of Jab), but much better than Skyscraper (ok score) and Battleship (guilty pleasure, but not a good score by any means), i like the style of Jablonsky in this one, his rhythms (but i still don't care about the 'motif' for Cohen or certain sound design tracks like 'You Can't Shoot Me' or 'You Know the Drill')<br><br>But still has such cool action moments (Hot Potato With a Grenade) and emotional/romantic moments, and still enjoyed that from this.<3 Buck Takes the LeadHybrid do you know what cues Mancina worked on here? I read in the Twister booklet that the director heard a cue from this and wanted Hans for Twister but he told him that it was actually Mark.100% for HybridSoldier!
I am very glad we have 2 scores by Steve this year. Waiting for Spenser Confidential.Agree!!!!! Please organize a concert in Budapest again! The 2017 live concert and this year's World of HZ concert was totally full house in Budapest!thank you, I appreciate that:) I should say that I am inspired by the music of the 90's, I started producing music on a cheap 200$ Yamaha between 1998-2000, and thanks to a few projects I worked on was able to purchase A more high end synthesizer. Right now I kind of just make music as a hobby but hopefully one day could compose A score for A Movie or even A video Game, that would be pretty cool. I'll be adding more tracks as well for this particular project. The next track I am planning will be a more orchestral reprise of the Miami Heat track I uploaded. I'm trying to get better at themes which is an area that I'm trying to improve on.Damn Powell is doing a lot of music on his own now a days with not many additional writers. I hope he takes on more project that aren’t just animated. I really miss his music, he’s so ridiculously talented.And even then, people rate before listening to it...

Did anyone noticed that the guitar cue when Hancock and Mary are dying is similar to Powell's showreel's "Music for the End of the World - Face, Hope and Charity", with a different arrangement ?

It's really interesting, because John Powell used many of the demos from his 1998's showreel in his career during the last 10 years (and especially from his "Music for the End of the World".
This is the case for Antz, Chicken Run, Just Visiting, Hancock and now Bolt ! A great part of his career is made out of this showreel's ideas.

The one piece of unreleased music that stood out to me was the movie version of "The Trailer". Totally different from what's on the CD and much, much better.

Amazing soundtrack, as always from one of my fave composers! I was just bummed to see the cue with the cello is not in it, that sort of mellow one that happens about 1/3rd into the movie...

Anthony - thanks for your comment, but I actually meant the music that starts before the Superman-esque cue. It is more of a low pitched growling affair that builds as the robbers are shooting at the police, then ends on the shot of the robber holding the deadman switch. The generic superhero cue starts a few seconds after this.

I guess it's fated to remain unreleased also though... Shame. Powell excels in that vein of suspense/tension cues, a la Face/Off.

There is a cue in the film that starts when Hancock is in prison and is told he has a phone call from the Chief of Police, builds while he is shaving, then bridges into the siege outside the bank. This was my favourite piece of music in the whole score, yet it is not on the soundtrack album. Does anyone have any information?

The Moon and The Superhero is gonna be one of the best Powell tracks of the year, I can tell. The rest of the score is pretty good too, though it's not really the kind of stuff I like to play a lot. 3.5 out of 5 I guess.

The beginning of that excerpt of track 19 reminds me a bit too much of Elfman's Spider-Man score, but other than that it sounds like a great score.
