To whom it may concern...

Is it possible to download or in any other way purchase the Hannibal (Expanded) score somewhere? I have the original motion picture soundtrack, but would LOVE to have them both..

Best regards

Nicholas10 and 16 are missing from the store pack.Most probablyI am not a hybrid, i will try to give my opinion. I think, music in 5 season will come out when and 6 season. But I really want to be wrong!!! :)It's very sad...(((
The 'Allentown Brothers' track is pretty damn awesome (find it on YouTube). It's like a mix between gothic Elfman, Desperate Housewives and Transformers. I love it.

It's one of those scores that people don't talk about much but it's actually pretty cool.

An awesome venue would be the Opera House in Odessa.Want this so bad!!!Does anyone have a breakdown of this with the official score album?
Hats off to Batu Sener for working on many of the score's best cues though!
It all comes to personal preference I think. Personally I’ve moved on from collecting cd’s (or anything really) and would rather have everything digital simply to utilize space.

That being said, I completely understand the appeals of having physical media, it would be sad to see that go away for the people who really love it.It's not only to appreciate the work, its to have something "real" in your hands, for your music collection. I don't like only to have a digital music archive. Of course, i rip all the cds i own to WAV and MP3. But i want to have them in my physical music collection.These day, sure. But we usually get news of the next one by the time he's finished wrapping up the current one.Powell only does 1 score a year.Still no news on his next score? Is he taking a break or something? Working on more concert stuff?
Was pleasantly surprised by this one when I first heard it. Outside of the ‘modern scoring’ portions you get some fun noir music for the squad, solid action writing, and even some good emotional cues.

Also gotta love the rhythmic idea from Antz popping up here...Also, the use of the guitars by Jablonsky, are still the best since the 90sI give a spin (almost 4 years after my last listening), it grown on me (still don't consider of the best of Jab), but much better than Skyscraper (ok score) and Battleship (guilty pleasure, but not a good score by any means), i like the style of Jablonsky in this one, his rhythms (but i still don't care about the 'motif' for Cohen or certain sound design tracks like 'You Can't Shoot Me' or 'You Know the Drill')

But still has such cool action moments (Hot Potato With a Grenade) and emotional/romantic moments, and still enjoyed that from this.<3 Buck Takes the LeadHybrid do you know what cues Mancina worked on here? I read in the Twister booklet that the director heard a cue from this and wanted Hans for Twister but he told him that it was actually Mark.

Awesome Score. A bit more generic than the first but still a great piece of work, especially because it complements the first one. After just 1 listen a main theme comes forth, appearing every now and then throughout the score.
"Prime" wich is the "Autobots" of this score, in theme and in sound. "Autobots" itself returns in 2 instances, at the end of "Forest Battle" in a more gritty and fast version, and, as in the previous score, as the 2nd half of "I Rise, You Fall" in an almost exact duplicate of "No Sacrifice, No Victory". I say almost because, although it mimics that score 1 track, it sound deeper and more majestic (if that is possible). And the final piece "Matrix of Leadership" is a delicious (though short) take on "Arrival to Earth".
I do hope that more themes from the previous score seep into the new movie, but in this score that is it, the rest is totally new. As i say said, a true compliment to the 1st score, building on its sound and feel.
For now, the only defect i find in this score is the one many have mentioned, it is too short. After these 43 minutes go by, you're left wanting more.
Only truly good scores make you feel that.
I once again tip my hat to Mr. Jablonsky. Now, let the 24th come to see what spectacular visuals illustrate this exquisite score.

And before I get attacked, I can completely understand other people liking it. Its edgy, fast, dark... just not what I wanted from this score. And maybe it is what other people wanted.

Deakins reply Replies: 0 || 2009-06-17 00:00:00
After a complete listen of the score. I'm a little bit disappointed.
Some tracks like "Prime", "Infinite White" or "Matrix of Leadership" are very angelous but others parts of the score aren't very original..
"The Fallen", "Fallen's Arrival" and " Einstein's Wrong"especially show the trend of an unpersonnal music without real emotion..(even 'Decepticons' theme from the first one was better!)
The reprise of the old 'Autobots' and 'Optimus' themes are really cool in 'Forest Battle', 'I Claim Your Sun' but totally obsolete in 'I Rise, You Fall" (same as 'No Sacrifice, No Victory' on the 52-tracks bootleg)..
The collaboration with Linkin Park is average but finally, upper than others electronic parts of the score..

I'm sure that the entire score is highly better in his context but I think if the cd reflects the quality of the score in his globality, it will be sad for 'Jablonsky' fans like me..

I'm with Deakins, however, I liked most tracks, but the score is too short. Anyone smelling a new petition coming up ?:P But I do not think it's any use...

That's True!!! hahahaha, this guy is right!! First Born Theme is 160 BMP variation... obviously, mixed with THE PEACEMAKER sound!

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2009-06-17 00:00:00
yeah guys you should listen to zimmer "first born" cue ( in the world of BBC theme , 1989, scroll down in disco section and you'll find the CD )

It sounds very close to angels and demon 160 bpm ! Funny

Badguy reply Replies: 0 || 2009-06-17 00:00:00
Another analyze... the track FOREST BATTLE is a variation of Soccent Attack, and we can hear the Optimus Prime theme of the first movie... about the choirs... it sounds like A&D... anyways, I think the TRANSFORMERS 2 soundtrack is very short, we want the complete score, nooooooow!!! hahaha

Badguy reply Replies: 0 || 2009-06-17 00:00:00
Well, to me, I liked "Infinite White", remember me the sound of KING ARTHUR, who is the female solo voice? I love her!!! (^^,)

Leonor reply Replies: 0 || 2009-06-17 00:00:00
@ Badguy

Yah... it really sounds like A&D... Now that I've heard it (in here - btw), it has everything to do with Hans! Well, he worked in this ost, so I truly believe it has his hand!
The same choirs style... with the melody being the main part of it... so Hans Zimmer!

I would like to listen "Nest" based on the song by LP...

For what I've heard, it really sounds a little bit more darker than the 1st one... more choirs! But I liked it... can't wait to have it!

Antas, Webmaster reply Replies: 0 || 2009-06-17 00:00:00
I prefer the first one I think but this one seems to be different -- darker indeed. Some tracks are very good imho and I am impatient to see how this score fits with the movie.

I agree with Ele, some tracks from T1 like Allspark theme are definitely missing but wait and see the movie with the complete soundtrack...

Ele reply Replies: 0 || 2009-06-17 00:00:00
Dark or not, i'd like to hear T1 style. I miss Allspark theme, and some good action-score cues (soccent attack was one of them for example)

anyone for the good track order ? ^_^

not yet ? ;-)

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2009-06-17 00:00:00
it's just different, more dark but very good ^_^

(pleaaaaaasee i want a complete or expanded score)

Deakins reply Replies: 0 || 2009-06-17 00:00:00
@Chris :
Totally agree with you, I waited more variations and new arrangements of the old theme.. like everybody like you said.

Antas, Webmaster reply Replies: 0 || 2009-06-17 00:00:00
new extracts added

Deakins reply Replies: 0 || 2009-06-17 00:00:00
Hey, Antas..
So, what do you think about this score?

DemonStar reply Replies: 0 || 2009-06-17 00:00:00
The "Arrival To Earth" theme is present near the end of the track "Matrix Of Leadership".

Deakins reply Replies: 0 || 2009-06-17 00:00:00
Yes but it's not the best motif of 'Arrival to Earth'. :-)
However, it's a good arrangement.

Badguy reply Replies: 0 || 2009-06-17 00:00:00
Einstein's Wrong sounds like Angels & Demonds... Zimmer's Hand??

Ele reply Replies: 0 || 2009-06-17 00:00:00
I heard to the score about 10 times by now, and i am very disappointed. "New" Prime theme is just mixed Optimus and Autobots theme from first part. Pretty weak action score, weak new themes. Too much electric guitar. Especially in The Shard. Hello, this is filmscore, not a rock/metal/whatever.
Srsly, big disappointment. I hope there will be complete score which will contain moar epic music.

@down Yeah, it sounds exacly as 160/Fire from A&D. Especially when female choir turns up.

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2009-06-16 00:00:00
waitin' for the complete score ^_^

What I've heard so far is very, very satisfying. I am now confortable with the way they are going with the music. I was worried that there might be too much Lincoln Park music but from what I've heard, Steve is still the man.

And as for the length, I am a little sad but hopefully there is more in the film because I cannot see how 43 minutes can score such a long and expensive film. Unless they do a lot of rehashing from the first one.

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2009-06-16 00:00:00
About the fees, I don't know what it costs, I didn't ask, but it's probably quite important... ;)

And about that US rule, it's not the case in other countries... That's why we get longer release for "foreign score"... For instance King Arthur, which is quite a long CD release for a Bruckheimer/Disney production, but the film & score were done in the UK...

I'm not sure but I think it's the same for The Da Vinci Code which got a 70 min release, or German productions like Der Kleine Eisbär 2 or Lauras Stern... :)

But every country has its owns rules, for examples in the UK there's a tax for non Brittish writers ! That's why Nick Glennie-Smith & Rupert Gregson-Williams got an official additional music credit, and American people Steve Jablonsky, Trevor Morris, Jim Dooley & Blake Neely didn't get the official writing credit... :)

Weird weird music world !!!! :S

To be honest, I'm a bit disappointed so far.

I'm hearing very little fresh, creative thematic material--which I'm hoping is due to the choice of clips and possibly material present on the disc. In the first film, the Autobot theme in the opening grabbed my ears IMMEDIATELY. But so far, I'm not hearing anything like that.

The other thing is that, again the first one, Steve used different instruments to convey different themes: Autobots and humans-horns; Allspark-cello; Decepticons-electronics. All I've heard from the new one so far are some standard orchestrations and a bunch of techno noise.

I hope the Score is really cool because the lenght of the score is not - okey. 43:56 for a Big Budget Movie is a badley joke!
I hope the Score is the Best from 2009!

Infinite White and I Rise, You Fall, look like Gladiator OST. I wish that someone bring something new. Something revolutionary.

i dont know who said the transformers track over at the Jablonsky site was a track from a video game, but Im here to tell you...

That track is better quality than the video game synths he uses for economic purpose, and for another, it's the chord progression of Bumblebee/Allspark without the layers.

Dead on balls accurate, and if Jablonsky used it in that video game score, then he clearly shamelessly stole from the Transformers well...

I really hope there will be a complete score, like the first one.
