I actually don't know which I prefer. I guess nostalgia might be clouding my judgement, since the album version was the one used on the DVD menu. Both are still pretty good, nonetheless.Yeah no contest IMO, it's much more dynamic and more "Powell-y" compared to that Superman-style rhythm he uses in the album version and elsewhere in the score. Must have been a hasty last-minute redo or something to not show up on the album.The films Powell is currently choosing allow him to write much more interesting music than your average Marvel movie... ;)

Excited for Call of the Wild in a few weeks.Does anyone know what the correct chronological tracklist for this would be?Honestly, i think i will be that few people who likes Lights Out. But his best horror score is A Cure for Wellness
Thatís a cool choice, Iím hoping for something more like ďItĒ and less like ďLightís OutĒ.Wallfisch has compose the score for The Invisible Man, another horror score for the best guy today for the jobPowell has his personal reasons, but I sincerely hope he comes around to do another superhero score again, especially for MARVEL since his style isnít fit for the likes of DC as of now.I like the film version of Bathroom Titles better.LOL!

He has had some experience with animated projects, Iím interested to hear him do more diverse projects like that.
I will never understand when people can't stand people opinions and 'attack' them.

If some loves Trent Reznor (i hate the guy's music), is his opinion and i no one to say nothing about it.Bring on the remixes!LOL!!! You have no idea about film music
====================

It's his opinion, my friend.

And his opinion is equally as valid as the opinion of someone who thinks this score is the worst crap ever. Why? Because when it comes to appreciating art (movies, books, music...) it is all completely subjective.

I always use this example: I have two friends - educated, family men - who have seen The Godfather. One of them thinks it's one of the greatest movies ever, while the other one barely finished watching it.

At the end of the day, just because a group of people (film critics, film buffs, etc) proclaim that something is "good" or "bad" doesn't mean that it's automatically a holy statement that everyone should agree with.

We are all different :)

Cheers!Judging by the clips of this movie, it will be a good choice.

I can't wait for this one, after seeing those clipsAccording to Film Music Reporter, Tom is also scoring Scoob!
MMichaels LOL!!! You have no idea about film musicFantastic score by Balfe.Best action score writer to come from RCP since Powell for sure .It hits all the same notes you would expect out of a feel good sports movie, but the performances and real life story really add a lot to it, as does Rabinís score.
=======================

Well said!

Agreed.I've demanded for it to be removed a long time ago... Maybe in 10 years, who knows...RIP to a legend....

Just rewatched Coach Carter a few weeks back. It hits all the same notes you would expect out of a feel good sports movie, but the performances and real life story really add a lot to it, as does Rabinís score.

@Dan,

Not too many people seem concerned about it. I think this score is highly underrated. I hope we get it too. I might even settle for an expanded.....

I hope we get a complete score of transformers revenge of the fallen before to long.

The teaser for Dark Of The Moon has now been released. Just thought I'd mention it here.

Dakota reply Replies: 0 || 2010-12-03 00:00:00
@ Adrian, I wish "they" was the record company!! "They" need to wake the F up and get their heads out of their asses and realize how many people demand a complete release and how much it would sell.

And I guess I did respond kind of aggressively. Sorry, I just had a million things on my mind the second I typed it.

Need the language? Seriously...I'd rather not read that...

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2010-12-03 00:00:00
Stop talking about some crappy DVD-rip expanded... I'll never list it here anyway, it doesn't count !! :P

Adrian reply Replies: 0 || 2010-12-02 00:00:00
@ Dakota
I didn't mean it aggressively, and I don't think the nameless guy either, but that's the problem with written language!

However, ''they'' implied that you meant professional people (like from a record company), but unfortunately, that is not the case!

Westfall says he's been working on it. Give me and the guy a break. I'm not saying you should believe me and take my word for it, but I think he's working on it, like he states he is. These things aren't a breeze. Maybe he has a life, which is why it's taking a while. Cool your jets guys. And if it doesn't come, it's not the end of the world.

Ricardo reply Replies: 0 || 2010-12-01 00:00:00
This score is amazing. I was wondering... is there going to be a full (or expanded) release of it?
Greetings from Chile.

Dakota reply Replies: 0 || 2010-12-01 00:00:00
@Ricardo,

They're working on it. Good things come to all those who wait. Sooner or later, it will get here. I know how you feel, this (along with Avatar and Sherlock Holmes) was my favorite Score of 2009.

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2010-12-01 00:00:00
@ Dakota,

Not to sound like a naysayer, but do you have any confirmation from "they" who are working on it?

Adrian reply Replies: 0 || 2010-12-01 00:00:00
Yeah, Dakota, what's your source?

I heavily Agree :o

No, I got it. When it was releasaed in May of '07 there was a Soundtrack album but no Score. It was total BS. This was before I knew how to download soundtracks from the internet in .rar format. Actually, this was before I knew that format existed. I only got it about a year ago. I know how you felt. I was shocked it didn't even get a release, even still to this day. It's not right.

scorefan reply Replies: 0 || 2010-10-25 00:00:00
slightly fair enough, but I don't think you completely got what I meant ;p

Dakota reply Replies: 0 || 2010-10-25 00:00:00
I was pissed Spider-Man 3 never got a release. Of course now I have several versions, including the "unreleased" and "complete". But Steve Jablonsky's score is just so damn awesome that it absolutely needs a complete release!

scorefan reply Replies: 0 || 2010-10-25 00:00:00
LOL.

I found it, but it still never got an actual release. ya know?

Scorefan reply Replies: 0 || 2010-10-24 00:00:00
To all complaining about missing cues and "Needing" an expanded score : Be happy you got a score in the first place. I'm still waiting for a spider-man 3 score 3 years after the release of the movie.

westfall

how's it going?

Dakota reply Replies: 0 || 2010-09-27 00:00:00
Hmm...could be. Good to know it's coming along, that just made my day.

westfall reply Replies: 0 || 2010-09-26 00:00:00
Sorry for the long absense, busy times.

For those waiting for news about the riped score, patience, it's going, slowly but surely.

@Dakota
I always pictured it in my mind that "Infinite White" is like a description of "heaven". Sure in the movie it's not actually white, it has hills and stuff but... just my 2 cents.

Dakota reply Replies: 0 || 2010-09-19 00:00:00
Anyone know why track 6 is called "Infinite White"? I've always wondered, but have no idea. All the other tracks have significant names but this one.
