How do you know it's not complete? The film hasn't hit the cinemas yet! Which idiot got the idea to release only 17 minutes of a longer score? I mean, 17 minutes is... short, it has almost no point in releasing it, just like Brothers in Arms 3's 15 minutes (which was even on disc!) :P More minutes = more money... so why only 17 minutes if there is more to make money with?
(Well technically more tracks = more money with digital releases, but let's assume more score = more tracks).
OMG James Newton Howard is involved?? this is unbelievable.

There is one cue in the film, not on the cd soundtrack, that sounded very clearly - to me - like JNH.
**Spoilers**
It was when Alec says that he's leaving his wife and he needs a place to stay, but Meryl doesn't let him stay. It plays as everyone is leaving the property, driving away, etc.
Loved the music....enjoyed the movie, but watched it several times to hear the instrumental. How do I purchase just the music by heitor Pereira & Hans Zimmer? Lilting sounds beautifully done. Need to hear it again. Help!

Would like to purchase just the instrumental part of "It's Complicated". Just love it. Absolutely makes you feel good.
I loved the music as well as the movie! Why won't they release a CD Soundtrack? Not everyone has an IPOD, etc. I understand that the music written by Pereira & Zimmer resulted in about 6 short selections, but they could include the other songs that were heard in the movie as well. Other movie soundtracks have included the popular songs as well as the originally composed songs specifically for the movie. Please reconsider and release a CD Soundtrack from the movie, "It's Complicated"!!!
why is there not a full soundtrack for this movie . The music was just great and Zimmer and Pereira well what can I say, they just continually out do themselves..
Maybe I'm mistaking, but I think that at the very beginning of the movie (like 1:37) Heitor Pereira and Ramin Djawadi are making a small cameo. They are the guys playing at the banquet...
I love the score in this movie, but I keep having this feeling of I've heard this before! No wonder, he did the soundtrack to "The Holiday" both were great movies and the music was the perfect back drop for these films!
I APPLAUD the soundtrack and song selections for this film. As one of my favorites of all time is the soundtrack from Somewhere in Time......the movie in this film It's Complicated was moving me just as much as the storyline! I was so tuned in to both. The parallelisms of the movie and my current life, saddened me, and yet blew me away....there were SO MANY parallelisms in my own situation, that I was completed taken in by this films story line, and the music.....which empowered its presentation to a music lover like myself.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.....finally....some incredible music with chord changes that could be felt all the way down to the bottom of my heart!
@ Sylvos: Option 1, he says so in his interview. I think Var鑚e turned it down because the score lacks minutes. Releasing short scores is just... silly, at least, perhaps that's what Var鑚e thinks. The official reason says so actually.
Possible reasons: 1. The rest of the music was more of the same with one or two instruments added or taken out. 2. Hans wasn't happy about the way the rest of the music sounds like. (Based on these 6 cues, that's unlikely) 3. The rest of the cues were very, very short and not really album friendly. 4. Some silly legal issues.
Still curious about the thing with Varese and their "Insufficient music in the final cut of the film" excuse for canceling their album for this. And why did Hans turn to another label to get the download only release out? Varese's done quite a number of Download Only albums in the past.
mmm... yet another RC mystery. Guess Hollywood should make a movie about the things that are happening at this company, at some point. :-P
Can anyone confirm James Newton Howard's involvement in this? He's not listed on IMDb as contributing anything. And I can't imagine why he would feel the need to work on it when there are already at least three composers, especially if these 17 minutes represent the entire score...
HZ said there's 45/50 minutes of music in the film... That 16 min release is Hans' choice !
And about JNH, feel free to trust me or not, but it wasn't supposed to be made public in the first place, cause it's more "the help from a friend to a friend"...
