Most of them are done actually and should have been released a while ago !Hybrid why is HZ scoring so many films lately, has he placed a bet with himself or something? lol<br><br>Looking forward to it. Boss Baby was a really fun score.I'm confident he would care. Not saying he has any control over it. <br>I don't think Mondo should be making any money from this release. It ought to be canceled and removed from their website. <br><br>It's more than just a tempo issue. The tone is entirely off, and parts that were once pleasing to hear, now sound awful to my ears.<br><br>Seems Mondo is lacking the proper quality control. Hopefully this is a wake up call for them. If enough people avoid buying this album or return it, they'll get the message. I like to see capitalism work properly. <br>Maybe Pope is involved.Great news! The first one is fun, not Zimmer’s best animated score imo but it’s still pretty enjoyable. I almost wish they got Conrad Pope involved again, “Love” is one of the most beautiful cues of the past few years.
The first one was quite pretty good.We knew Steve would return for quite some time, but I was surprised Hans would actually return too. But he's very involved with that one.Who is Hans Zimmerman?i want it so much <3I guess it's only fair that they do shoulder the blame, considering again that releases like these aren't really the norm for them. I still wouldn't expect a recall and replacement, since it'd be a lot of money down the drain there. Their loss ultimately at the end of the day.<br><br>A bit disappointed about the content being the exact same as the leak, as I would've liked some of the film edits or at least the alt mixes I've seen pop up. I guess I'll just have to hope Disney does end up cooperating with LLL sooner than later.
You gotta realize one thing, most of the time, Hans doesn't even know about these releases (and honestly I think he doesn't care). Only a few labels like LLL play ball and have him involved (but as Hans doesn't own most of his music, they have no other reason than courtesy to do so).<br><br>As for MI2, people who complained about the "content" instead of the tech aspect of it were goddamn wrong. Yes, the film mixes / OST mixes are pretty different. Because you have suites & sometimes material specifically arranged for the album or alternate cues.<br><br>Mondo having released the final mixes (and I know what Paramount provided them, it's just exactly the same 2 CD set copy that leaked years ago), I have no problem if the content is different.<br><br>And that's the topic on which they answered, James. Technically, they're not wrong, but they are ditching the REAL problem, for which they are responsible for ! The speed issue is on them, not on what they got.Considering the recent issues with the isolated score on Days of Thunder's 4K release sounding very inconsistent, I do wonder if Paramount has simply been poor in preserving stuff. Especially when they mention the studio and not the record label, which might've had a better copy on hand (they did finally put the OST on digital recently, after all).<br><br>I am not going to hold Mondo responsible for this, especially considering they normally do just press the regular OSTs onto LPs. I don't expect them to be fully privy to if a score sounds fine or not, since they're often just given the stuff prepared for them. Besides, repressing records would be a super expensive ordeal, especially with how limited they're often designed to be now.<br><br>And honestly: since no one has made the comparison to Sherlock 2 yet, how bad sounding is it really? I'd much rather it be slightly off than it being complete trash like the Perseverance release of Rain Man was. If HZ was able to let that slide once, then he won't be so worked up over a small tempo issue.So this is what Mondo had to say about their massive screw up. I've never heard something so stupid in my life. If I had a direct line to Hans Zimmerman himself I'd call him about this. I'm sure he would be interested to know they butchered his album. <br><br>"Hi James,<br><br>I talked with the soundtracks department and here's what they had to say:<br><br>We’ve been made aware of a discrepancy between how the audio sounds on our album versus how it was previously released in original releases.<br><br>Our masters came directly from the studio and from original recording sessions, and we did not do any adjustments to the masters in post other than standard vinyl mastering process. But it seems any previous post production on those original releases, and cues used in the film itself, are absent from our release and may account for the differences you notice.<br><br>We currently do not have any plans on remastering the score."<br>Great. Thx.<br><br>Score has much similarities with Sherlock, so there is many of Lorne's cues...Known credits are Runaway Train for Mazzaro (was on his website), for Andrew K : The Rangers, Cannibal, Dead Rangers & Finish Him (on his Soundcloud). Geoff is the only guy with Ann Marie Simpson that got the privilege of cuesheet credit.
<br>
<br>Battle of Aughrim arrangement (so everything lifted from "Silver") is Hans & Ann Marie.
<br>
<br>Geoff did a good part of the score, every other classical pieces arrangements are his (so, everywhere the William Tell Overture appears). Train Chase, the End Credits, This Is A Robbery.
<br>
<br>The stuff that sounds more or less like Sherlock have definitely Lorne. And I suspect a bit more epic drama have RGW.
Hello there!<br>Hybrid, do we have some composer's credits on this score?<br>Or this is situation like on Transformers score?<br><br>Somewhere I read that Geoff Zanelli helped Hans on Train Chase (pts 1&2), Mazzaro did Runaway Train and Kawczynski did like 2 or 3 tracks (the rangers, finish him). Is that correct?<br><br>btw good score, not genius, but pretty good action score.<br><br>Made in Italy<br><br>Beautiful new score by Alex Belcher, check it out!Oh, yes.<br><br>Maybe this month, right?The album is ready. Just waiting for legal to settle it... It'll happen.And about The Rhythm Section?, Mazzaro said the score is mastered...

Hello anyone! I kinda feel that "It Is Poison, Nanny?" and "Catatonic" are some sort of Suites or Demos for Blackwood' character. Is it true? And very interested about Hans 'n' Guy Version of Holmes, is it suite too?

HunterTech2020-07-21 01:22:08
Catatonic is just a combination of the cue before the credits + a version of the Holmes suite. The first half of It Is Poison, Nanny? is what I was asking about prior, since I've never seen a proper answer for it.

Knight2020-07-21 14:59:58
The set I have lists Is it Poison, Nanny? as an alternate for 3m18a Holmes Follows Irene.

And the Holmes (Hans 'n' Guy Version) is the only suite here, everything else is cues.

GermanRCPFan2020-07-21 21:39:22
Maybe, but for me hardly believe about first track. I think that "Is It Poison, Nanny" is two demos (first half is for Blackwood, second maybe for Holmes. Oh, and i forgot about "I Never Woke Up In Handcuffs Before", this is some sort of suite too, i think because in film there is two variations of this track, it's simular but has fine deffenents.

HunterTech2020-07-22 02:13:47
@Knight That's basically correct, since the second half of "Is It Poison, Nanny?" and all of "I Never Woke Up In Handcuffs Before" is basically the full "Holmes Follows Irene" cue with some differences. As for suites: there do exist two demos that one can come across. I was alluding to one of them in the first response.

@GermanRCPFan Maybe it's because I've actually recently assembled an SH1 set out of every currently available material, but there are no demos on the album. The two tracks listed above match the final in-film cue too much to merely be a demo. Perhaps a version tailored for the album, but otherwise pretty final. It's possible the first part of the first track wasn't intended for the film, but we know too little to be sure. Maybe in an actual sessions leak we might be able to tell.

HunterTech reply Replies: 0 || 2020-06-23 01:43:47
Does anyone know what the first half of "Is It Poison, Nanny?" intended to be? Someone mentioned it being a possible alt for 5m32-33 (or rather, "it's an alternate cue for the scene where Blackwood reveals himself to his followers"), but I'm just not sure. Thanks in advance.

If I recall correclty, this track has been on Lorne Balfe's website for a while now.

Also, a complete isolated score has surfaced a certain time ago, including every material heard in the movie, sfx-free of course.

It surfaced same day as Inception and Rango. Almost 2 years ago

love this score. hasn't grown on me. was listening to it on my commute today. do you guys know if the track "psychological recovery" is the "suite" that came first. and then other cues developed from it? thanks

Hybrid Soldier2018-08-16 17:54:33
Nope, not a suite, a mix of about 4/5 cues.

Edmund Meinerts2018-08-16 17:56:53
No, "Psychological Recovery" is scored to picture, a bunch of cues put together from the climax of the film. IIRC the first three minutes or so are a solo Balfe cue actually.

Mike2018-08-16 18:36:53
...and a very good solo Balfe cue, at that. That theme and Hans' Moriarty theme are the most engaging ideas of these movies, to me.

Hey, while I'm here, any word on Hans doing the third movie?

@Hybrid Soldier:

Why you still don't add the Complete Score Page? It's since a long time out

Mike (OTM)2018-05-14 18:56:10
He said a few years back that he "doesn't like" this bootleg. I imagine he still doesn't like it. ;)

Medigo2018-05-14 19:32:03
Its because its the film mix as opposed to the sessions, isnt it?

Anonymous2018-05-15 15:19:06
yes it is the film mix. I have it. plays like an isolated score. including source cues.

Edmund Meinerts2018-05-15 16:14:16
Yeah, it's pretty frustrating. It's full of unmusical crossfades and volume fluctuations, and to be honest there isn't a whole lot of worthwhile material there that wasn't already covered by the album (only the Dredger/boatyard fight music is really necessary). Still worth checking out if you're a big fan of the score, of course, but if you skip it you're not missing too much.

mpolonest123 2018-05-15 17:22:18
Someone did an edit on that release which removes the source music and cross fades, as well as fixing the volume. Still not great but much better than the other version.

But Edmund is right, almost everything necessary (excluding the Dredger fight and Blackwood Resurrection) is on the album. Probably one of Zimmer’s best album releases.

Medigo2018-05-15 17:47:21
I also quite like the Saving Irene/Blackwood Plan Explained tracks
and the proper opening of course

Bibi2018-06-07 15:25:08
I've got the new edit of the recording sessions, it's so much better than the previous one. Now I don't see any quality difference with the recordings sessions of Game of Shadows.

But isn't it nice to have a proper place to discuss it? And there's no way of legally buying it so there's only one option! I would just like to have the credits that Hybrid Soldier posts on some of the other complete scores. That information is most helpful and I am thankful for that :)

Mike reply Replies: 3 || 2014-05-07 18:12:32
Interesting....Remember how Hybrid said that if Lorne gets an "additional music / score producer" credit, it's a disguised way of saying he's a co-composer? Well if you look at the "Thanks" section in here and on Inception, it lists "Eva and David Balfe", who are usually only thanked in scores where Lorne is a fully-fledged composer, right? ;)

Anonymous2014-05-07 18:25:53
Part of me thinks that calling Balfe a co-composer on this one is understatement.

Mike2014-05-07 19:28:36
Same with Inception and any other score of Hans' he "produced"....lol

Zimson2014-06-03 19:08:13
He did the first half, or so of "Psychological Recovery... 6 Months", the rest is basically arrangements, I suppose.

Zimson reply Replies: 8 || 2014-02-11 18:58:03
I always thought Discombobulate was by Hans? On lornebalfe.com it says that the end credits music is by Lorne (It's basically the same thing).

MacArthur2014-02-11 19:29:15
I think it's by both.

Mike2014-02-11 19:48:59
It's Lorne Balfe's arrangement of Hans' original theme (check "Holmes (Hans 'n' Guy Version)"). So it is essentially by Hans, yes. All the elements found in Discombobulate are pretty much in Hans' original theme.

Zimson2014-02-11 21:00:14
Yeah, the theme is by Hans, but I've once red a post by Hans in a composer forum, where he says that he composed Discombobulate (indirectly, to be honest), after he got criticized by another composer. It was like: "Hey, I wrote it." or sth. like that if I remember it correctly.

Btw, I have the link, but I am not allowed to post it. (Or is it no problem?).
Use Google and type in: "Hans Zimmer in a forum!!!??" The first link that should appear is to a thread on the John Williams Fan Network site. The first post features a number of links. Hybrid Soldier2014-02-11 21:06:44
Discombobulate is 90% HZ, what's this debate about ? lol

Zimson2014-02-11 21:11:57
@Hybrid Well, the end credits music is basically Discombobulate with more brass and and according to Lorne's website it's by him. So I thought this would be worth a discussion.

Mike2014-02-11 22:36:54
Well even on this website, Lorne's name is under Discombobulate....

RealFfingMusic2014-02-12 03:37:00
If anyone wants to bet here, I'm on Hans.
Apparently Discombobulate is so awesome everybody wants their name on it! (Except Hans, Heh-heh)

SamFisher2013-09-26 21:14:47
Lorne Balfe

Areozz2013-09-27 00:22:23
Methinks that by now, Blackwood's theme originated from music that has to be public domain. Unless we're not talking about the same theme, the one I'm thinking of bears a strong resemblance to the tune that grandfather clocks play. In fact, one occurrence of the theme happens during a shot of Big Ben.

Are we thinking of the same theme?

Mike2013-09-27 00:59:40
I daresay we are. Had you not mentioned it, I wouldn't have noticed the similarities, but now they're really obvious.

Lorne Balfe is an enigma to me. Sometimes I like his music a lot ("Is It Poison, Nanny?", credited solely to him, is my favorite track on this album, and I love the whole Inception score, as well as the Skylanders and MW2 scores). On the other hand, I dislike some of his stuff and think it sounds cheap (a lot of the TDKR cues and the AC3 score).

Nice!

Any chance this gets leaked in the near future?

e2013-05-11 08:59:41
Got a tracklist for game of shadows?

Score_Trader2013-05-11 09:19:48
I am going to call this guy's bluff.

I don't believe Garage sent you anything due to the fact that he would be risking his source, and I am sure he is smarter than that.

Garage2013-05-11 09:20:54
FAKE !!!

Mike2013-05-11 09:51:58
I'm beginning to think that anyone who claims to have a complete score on this site will now use the name Anonymous123.

Cody2013-05-11 23:02:46
This track list is legit.

T-Mann0362013-05-12 17:30:10
The leak is FINALLY here!!!!!

Hybrid Soldier2013-05-12 17:56:04
And no, I won't create a page for that one...

Cause I basically don't want to... Cause I don't like that bootleg (the boot, not the music :P).

al bundy2013-05-12 17:59:26
has now been leaked as well.

Anonymous2013-05-12 18:42:48
This thing sounds like it was taken directly from the film. All the edits and cuts and crossfades are present - but no dialogue and sfx. How strange.

cheesy2013-05-12 18:57:36
I noticed that, too. As opposed to Inception and TDKR, which sound like they were earlier than the actual film mix.

Hybrid Soldier2013-05-12 18:58:15
You just explained my previous message... :)

cheesy2013-05-12 19:04:22
Hey Hybrid, any idea why some bootlegs from around 2008 (Iron Man and TDK being the best examples) sound much more richly mastered and have more noticeable bass than most others (like POTC and TDKR or even Inception) which sound... emptier, almost?

Hybrid Soldier2013-05-12 19:06:09
Hard to say... Just depends on the original recording... Some are recorded loud, some are not. Bootlegs are original files so not mastered by definition. There's no rule.

Mr Motivator2013-05-12 22:12:21
the 'boot' actually sounds better than the commercial release imo

Medigo2013-05-12 23:43:38
Makes ya wonder how many bootlegs are still out there

watch it be the next thing everyone begs about

Rene2013-05-13 13:57:01
Hybrid; Now i can say this is not the original sessions, it is only an complete isolated score(bootleg) but i do not know the source of this and the slates!!!!

Hybrid Soldier2013-05-13 14:04:47
I honestly don't know the source, nor understand it. Is it some DVD isolated production (like WarmButter DVDs) ? Is it true sessions "arranged" in film mix by someone ? No idea.

The titles just come from the cue sheet I posted years ago...

And some are even wrong here, Arrival Of Dredger should actually be "Meet Dredger"... ;)

Anonymous2013-05-13 14:06:21
The slates and titles are clearly from ASCAP. Some cues are mis-titled at parts too.

lkjj2013-05-12 17:25:38
