The New Lorne Balfe 08/15 Score making f..ing bad stuff!!!

I Hate this guy and his bad f...ing music

crap hit on this bad siteI agree completely.

The movie was awesome, the score works perfectly, and the only thing I didn't like was the use of songs. Too much of them. Songs rarely work during intense action scenes. They distract.

But every time the score started, I liked it. Bay may be known as the big action guy, but when it comes to scoring the more intimate/emotional moments, he and the composer (no matter who he is) always do a good job.Greenaway for President! :))I agree with Knight.

It seems some peeps were expecting power anthems left and right. Yes, this is a big movie, but not a "Transformers-big" movie. I didn't like the use of source music (I hate songs in action movies) but when Balfe's work popped up I noticed it right away.

The more emotional cues were definitely the most memorable.What a fantastic soundtrack.
It’s totally crazy and works brilliantly in the film.
The bit emotional sections are very classic Bay but Balfe’s electronic weirdness is very unique.
It’s nothing like Balfe’s Dark Materials BUT why I’m earth should it be !
10/10
Gavin should be listed as conductorBecause Ice Age was composed by David Newman and Collision Course was composed by John DebneyWhen i heard just the sound clips, i thought wtf. Sounds like the worst score, a michael bay movie ever had. Then i listened to the whole album and i have to say, there are some pretty cool tracks. I really like the electronic rhythmic stuff. Welcome to florence is awesome. The emotional moments are nice, but standard balfe stuff. In the movie, the music works really good. I think this music style is the only style, that works in THIS movie. And as hybrid says a mish mash of score and songs. The movie itself is.....strange. but at least the action rocks as hell.If "The Meltdown," "Dawn of The Dinosaurs" and "Continental Drift" are added, then how come "Ice Age" and "Collision Course" aren't?I haven't heard the album yet but there isn't much score in the film. It's like Bad Boys II meets Domino in terms of editing, songs everywhere (19 sourced songs used), short cues... Hell there's even a 13 Hours cue tracked in the film ("Getting Aboard The Plane").
"Second time"... lolAnother awsome score by lorne balfe. I really like the film 6 underground directed by michael bay, is very awsome and intense and i begin to hear the score composed by lorne balfe, and its phenomenal and his second time working with michael bay since 13 hours, which i like lorne balfe's score too. Balfe's work is really inspiring in his film score.I don't expect Lorne to make a masterpiece with each movie, but it is true that most of her films are action candies, and I can't understand how she can deliver 6 underground and then make His dark materials. It seems that within Lorne there are a thousand different composers. And I don't know what to expect from Lorne again.Can't help noticing not one, but two Zimmer titles in here.... Tracks 14 and 16. lol.What is most disappointing is that this is a Michael Bay movie with a score being so bad. Historically his movies have fantastic scores by either Hans, Steve Jablonsky, and even Lorne Balfe. But this is hands down the worst Michael Bay score I’ve ever heard.

It’s functional, yes, but nothing compared to 13 Hours, any of the Transformers movies, The Rock, Pearl Harbor, etc. I definitely had high hopes for another good “power anthem” score... and the only cues that are any good are just Time ripoffs.

Highly disappointing.
Again, if we have to expect every piece of work of one composer is have to be as good like his others pieces of work, that's pretty underwhelming and impossible.

Yeah, 6 Underground is not a good score by any means (neither Gemini Man, but is far more listenable), but works perfectly in the hiperbolic movie.I expected a lot from this score, and the truth is that it left me cold. Honestly, I think it is Bay's fault, Balfe has shown that he is capable of doing everything, but here it gives the feeling of being covered. Again, Balfe must focus on fewer projects and the projects he accepts are of quality.There are speculations about the track "Til Death Do Us Part "as being composed by Brandon Campbell. Can anyone confirm whether it was Djawadi or Campbell who composed it?Come to Portugal again.> which ones are listenable
all of the ones I listed are the melodic/orchestral moments in the score not counting Memories and Beautiful Sunday.
Listen to Haunt the Living, Thrones, A Million Battles or One, But Not Done and tell me that the score is a travesty.

Hybrid soldier. Thanks for playing your part in getting the bonus tracks. Any news on whether any "making of" or studio recording featurettes will feature on the inceptionscore.com (as i am assuming they are the ones that will eventually replace the "coming soon" slots? It would be amazing to see this if available!

Anybody know if a 2CD collector's edition is likely at this point? I'm praying for one like they did with The Dark Knight, because the score was amazing yet definitely incomplete. Anybody have any word on it?

i'm with JustinCat:

those two bonus tracks are soooo awesome but if it was also the cue from the second trailer, it would be just perfect. so anything possible to get it???

tomPoland reply Replies: 0 || 2010-08-16 00:00:00
How many times you have seen it? Because it looks that more than 5 time, since you can fit every minute of music:)

I was 2 times, and unfortunatelly this movie is overrated. Very good, but far from masterpiece like Prestige.

In the film, does 'Half Remembered Dream' play in its entirety at the beginning of the film? I remember the first part playing over the opening logos, but were the last 30 seconds of that track there as well? I don't think they were, but I could be wrong...

Bonus tracks works fine with Opera.

Mescalito reply Replies: 0 || 2010-08-14 00:00:00
'Half Remembered Dream' is the theme for change a level of dream... we can listen it too, when Cobb decides rescue Fisher in the last part of the movie...

JustinCat reply Replies: 0 || 2010-08-14 00:00:00
@hybridsoldier any word on the second trailer as a track being available in the future, or even something Hans may have wrote (despite it appearing to be a remix of 528491)?

I'm not referring to hempsey's track "mind heist" from the 3rd trailer, I know that isn't zimmer at all.

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2010-08-13 00:00:00
OK All is well !

I still can't believe I'm at the origin of 12 unreleased minutes LOL !!

Again, big thank to Hans for making this possible !! :D

Actually, I believe at 4:21 in "Don't Think About Elephants" is where Cobb snipes Mal from the tower. The quiet atmospheric synths before that are when Ariadne is trying to convince Cobb that she's not real.

Mescalito reply Replies: 0 || 2010-08-13 00:00:00
Yeah!!

Don't Think About Elephants: 4:21 (it is the scene when Arthur fights against a projection!!) oh, thanks!!

jj reply Replies: 0 || 2010-08-13 00:00:00
more then one for sure.

another missing cue that I remember is the entire scene with fischer and cobb in the hotel (when they pull a mr. charles). kinda like the beginning of mombasa except secret-agent-mission style. that cue i'd pay money for. hopefully we see an expanded release or more bonus tracks.

HZgui reply Replies: 0 || 2010-08-13 00:00:00
there's one cue missing. This cue is not that long but it worth the shot maybe later.
When Saito Cobb and Arthur are in the helicopter in the first quarter of the movie and when arthur explain what an inception is to Saito (how the idea has to be simple) and he uses the "don't think about elephants" theory to him.

Alex reply Replies: 0 || 2010-08-13 00:00:00
Don't Think About Elephants is 5:35

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2010-08-13 00:00:00
this is the best I could do according to the screenplay. it's pretty much impossible to have a clean chronological order because since the score wasn't directly composed for each individual scene everything's edited all over the place. Keep in mind the mere 12-track ost we got is nowhere near complete even with the bonus tracks....

1. Half Remembered Dream
2. Projections
3. One Simple Idea
4. Radical Notion
5. Mombasa (first half)
6. One Simple Idea [again]
7. Paradox [first 3/4s]
8. Mombasa [last half]
8. Dream Within A Dream
9. Don’t Think About Elephants
10. 528491
11. Waiting For A Train
12. 528491 [again]
13. Paradox [last quarter]
14. Time
15. Dream Is Collapsing

a bit early to tell. i mean someone might know...?

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2010-08-13 00:00:00
Does anyone know the chronological order (including the two new bonus tracks)?

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2010-08-13 00:00:00
The track is fixed by the way. It's now 5:36 long.

Yay :)

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2010-08-13 00:00:00
Yup thanks Hans and thanks Hybrid Soldier!

I expected the bonus tracks to be 4 minutes in total but in the end it is 12 minutes.

I personally think that the score is fairly complete now. There where other cues in the movie but most of them are variations with more brass or beats of cues what we already have.

Now hopefully Warner does their work better in the future and release stuff at release date; something that was planned and announced in the first place.

Hey Hybrid Soldier, tell Hans that I'm in love with him. :)

Mescalito reply Replies: 0 || 2010-08-13 00:00:00
Hey, lank14

I check the scene... and, I say the same: Arthur fights against a projection...

"Don't Think About Elephants": 00:00 - 01:36 (Yusuf drive the van... while projections chase him) then, there is a mix...: 04:21 (scene Arthur fights...) =P I don't lie
