He did...once... ;)So why exactly did Hans fight for Rupert with Wonder Woman and why is he scoring '84? Not criticizing, I just remember him thinking that it was better for more women to be involved as composers or performers on Wonder Woman projects.

I don't even necessarily agree with the concept that a woman needs to score a movie about women, I'm just curious why he wanted Rupert in and why he himself took over for the sequel if he felt that way?I would have gone with...
Music was good, didn't fit the DCEU, film was the worst thing ever.

Hans is fine, prefer his older stuff.Hybrid, do you have the Inception credits?Hybrid? Any chance you could upload some unreleased tracks from this to your channel? Or just that suite, that you did but was removed :/
Welp, necro thread i guess.Back then people still used CDs from time to time and a CD can only fit a little more than an hour worth of MP3s on it.Music was good, film was better. Nay, good. nothing, better than Hans

Hans, for you. <3

Sincerely,
RicardoSometimes, I wish the world was, one with iself. This, music and harmony set into one man's vision. Can someone ask Powell or Zimmer to put up some demos or suites from this score for study. It's such a great score and a real demonstration that a team effort can produce real quality.@Hybrid Soldier
Did HZ just do the first season of wormhole and then his stuff gets reused/rearranged by Jacob Shea or did he consistently write throughout several seasons?Thanks for the great insight as always Hybrid!Any idea when can we expect a track list of Tom's score ?It depens on person, you don't like it but this ost got millions of likes. You are only free to express your opinion.
Mmmh yeah let's say he acted like a music producer until Rupert was in, even as early as 2016 (right after BVS) he met with Patty Jenkins, he was never gonna do it because he was on tour anyway but he had the ideas as to who could/should score it. He had many ideas, submitted names etc.

Rupert got the gig in the end. Rupert I think could actually have come back to WW84, WW was a tough project but there was no problem (hell, he nailed it with Aquaman too, which was much easier cause there was no "legacy" to follow), but it really is Hans who showed interest to actually do it. Hans got really attached to Wonder Woman, playing the theme in his 2017 Live Tour. I think he wanted more than be the "WW Theme Writer", he wanted to have a full WW score.@Hybrid to what extent was HZ involved on the first Wonder Woman?
He said in an interview for WW84 that he was reluctant to accept because he had « fought hard to get Rupert the gig »
Is it a case of the producers/director wanted him and he said « I can’t do it but Ruper can »? And was the first one a mess, hence the fact that RGW isn’t scoring the sequel?It’s encouraging to know that Tom was proud of this score, as excited as I am to hear his reuse of themes I am just as excited to see what new ideas he came up with for the project.
Someone who supposedly heard a bit of the music on here (I think they worked as his assistant) said it sounded a bit like Fury Road and Deadpool mixed, but who knows.

If the score hasn’t been recorded yet my personal wish is for Conrad Pope to be involved somehow lolHey, so...a new expanded album for KFP2 seems to have leaked last January, and I haven't seen it listed on this site yet. I bring it up because it finally honest-to-God included a cue from the Zen Ball sequence I've been waiting to hear isolated for years, since BOTH the other albums just completely omitted it. And I dunno, I guess I feel like it deserves some acknowledgement.It would be cool if Junkie has the chance to use Rubert's Aquaman theme as well now that we have it. It would make the score feel even more complete!

Really liked the score.
Waaaaaaay too much music used in the movie though.
Less is more...when its wall to wall... you kinda switch off.
It could have been used to greater effect-Pity.

I consider it an intelligent score. Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien slowed down makes up the theme of Inception, and that song is used a lot in the film too. Time slows down in a dream, so does the music.

HZgui reply Replies: 0 || 2010-07-29 00:00:00
The theme of Inception? NO
the intro? YES ;)
It is really cool, HZ still has his creativity :)

i just like hans zimmer. true, he sounds the same after 5 1/2 hours and 360 road miles, but everyone does. i actually don't have this soundtrack quite yet, but i'm looking forward to it.

JustinCat- You and I are Zimmer lovers and I know what you're talkin about ;)

Still, I'm confusing about this music. It's maybe a new remix from ryeland allison afterall?

Hello Hybrid Soldier,

Any updates on the release of these bonus tracks already?

Greetings!

For those who are wondering about the trailers for Inception, the music was NOT composed by Hans Zimmer, but rather by Zack Hemsey and Mike Zarin, specifically for the trailers.

Victor reply Replies: 0 || 2010-07-28 00:00:00
@justin cat & HZgui
guys, u dont need to fight about this, I can tell u the truth. I know about it all, i search a lor int he web so what im about to tell u is the truth, so listen:
There were 3 trailers released before the movie,
N.1 the '' broooooooommmmmmm'' sound that we hear is the work of zimmer along with an extract of the dark knight.
N.2 the ''brooooooooommmmmmmmm'' still exists and this theme from the track 528491 is added with a different kind of remix, (also done by zimmer), that is only playing in the IMAX theaters just before the movie.
N.3 The ''brrooooooooooommmmmmmm'' still and still exists, but this time the strings and the rest is done by this zack hemsey guy, that i really think he made the trailer worse than the 2 others before, he just couldnt give the spirit of the movie.
That's the whole truth.
So enjoy the brilliant work of Hans Zimmer guys.

Victor- Were not fighting together. We are just talking about good music :). And especially Zimmer's music for Inception. Look, the idea is to know who composed the music. That 's all about what we're doing.
And I know that JustinCat and I will be so happy when we will hear new stuff new materials from Inception.

Hybrid Soldier- Come on dude we want it. ^^ No I'm kidding take your time. We'll have to give thanks to you if we get new tracks.

JustinCat reply Replies: 0 || 2010-07-28 00:00:00
Yea, any new stuff from inception would be amazing, Mr.Zimmer really killed it with this movie. I believe "time" is slightly different in the movie, i heard johnny marr in it, and I wants it (said with a golem voice).

But I really want the 2nd trailer. I just cant help but obssess over it. If anyone finds it or obtains a promo copy I'll gladly do anything to get my hands on that track. :)

@David Martingale - I wont even start the argument back up lol, but part of trailer 2 was written by Zimmer, its more than likely a remix by someone else though. Either way it's sweeeet.

This Score is not a Masterpiece. Ca. 50 minutes Of Score in 2,5 Hour Movie?...I don´t Understand.
Mombasa is the Highlight of this Score.... And I Wait So Long Of It.... :-(

It's just Fantastic Composer! Just Amazing Songs!!Masterpiece-MOVIE!!!

HZgui reply Replies: 0 || 2010-07-27 00:00:00
TDK was 2h28 Zimmer composed 6hours of music now what?

Don't need an expanded score...just 2-4 tracks more (10-20 twenty minutes more). It is enough...

we don't need the music in the trailer... It is not zimmer's work. If you want it, find it on youtube and use download helper trough firefox that's the best you can do. But there will be no place for trailers/teasers music in the score. IT IS NOT ZIMMER'S WORK!!! (except one piece of music but it's too short and we already have 528491 to represent this short passage).

We want Zimmer's Work not Hempsey's work

Hold your horses. 2 cd is 160 minutes. Film is 148.

Cloud reply Replies: 0 || 2010-07-27 00:00:00
3 CDs? Gosh, do you guys think that's enough? Personally, I don't think anything below 5 will do ;)

Fox reply Replies: 0 || 2010-07-27 00:00:00
Personally i LOVE this soundtrack but i'd very much love an expanded one, 2-3CDs since the official has a few missing pieces i was really looking forward to hearing (the music played in the trailers/towards the end of the film for example)

I for one support and will most certainly buy an extended soundtrack if and when its released!! =D

simon reply Replies: 0 || 2010-07-27 00:00:00
really liked the soundtrack, some of it reminded me of boards of canada.

Victor reply Replies: 0 || 2010-07-27 00:00:00
The second 1st and d 2nd trailer is done by hans zimmer, and the 3rd trailer is just a mix of the first trailer music, this composer used the bass brass sound and just added some strings and some add-ons.

JustinCat reply Replies: 0 || 2010-07-27 00:00:00
@HZgui the second trailer is Hans Zimmer, and I definitely want it. Hempsey did the third trailer with his song "Mind Heist".

The second trailer made me so excited to see Inception, and is definitely a piece of music that should be released. I don't want to listen to a crap quality rip off YouTube with dialogue interspersed.

Why be opposed to getting more awesome music?

HZgui reply Replies: 0 || 2010-07-27 00:00:00
JustinCat- I heard the music from the trailer one again. The broum (like the end of 528491) at the end is the only thing that Zimmer may have composed. The rest of it is from someone else. This piece of music is not in the movie. It is just a teaser-like music. It has nothing to do with what we hear in the soundtrack and in the movie, and has nothing to do with Zimmer's work... I can make the difference between Zimmer sound and copycat.
Maybe it is Zimmer but the only thing that looks like with what Zimmer did on the movie is the broum at the end. The first minute isn't Zimmer's work I'm sure.
And by the way it is not that good... listen to all the tracks in the score and you'll find something better everywhere...which means in any single track of it ;)

I'm not opposed to get more awesome music but I don't give a damn about Hempsey's work or about any trailers track....I just want more Zimmer music from Inception (at least 10-20 minutes, more? why not but there's nothing to add, all the cues are almost there...), and ONLY Inception.
Zimmer does not compose music for trailers currently...(what you hear in TDK's trailers was Zimmer's reworked music...).

JustinCat reply Replies: 0 || 2010-07-27 00:00:00
@HZgui Are you listening to the same trailer I am? The total length of the second trailer is 1:21. The "borum" your referring to is the horns, but besides that, the strings (violin/cello/viola) with the slight reverse delay are straight out of 528491, I'll chalk it up to you maybe not viewing the same trailer, or perceiving a different trailer to be the second one, but it is most definitely a stand out track by zimmer. I hate to throw out credentials, but as a composer for videogames/independent film, I can tell you that is Zimmer, it is amazing, and it should be included.

N.B. It is possible someone was hired to remix parts of the orchestration zimmer had composed for the trailer, but the composition is zimmer through and through. Before I knew he was associated with the movie I saw that trailer and said "that's gotta be Hans Zimmer".

JustinCat reply Replies: 0 || 2010-07-27 00:00:00
It is important because the trailer music sets the pace for the movie. As a crappy pun, it is inception, it plants an idea and sets a tone for a film. This piece is crazy epic, I want it simply because it is such an exciting piece of music, written by zimmer (although I do agree it could be a remix, the initial piece used was written by zimmer).

This trailer completely sold me. The music was almost half the reason why. It conveyed chaos, dread, and emotion. Watching the trailer I completely stared without blinking, absorbing everything by being entranced by this intense music.

It showed me the movie without showing me the movie (I'm well aware that statement is confusing - I mean that it related key themes both visually and musically and really prepared me for what this film could be without ruining or spoiling key information from the film)

It is almost better than the track "time" but they are so different its hard to compare them, completely different in terms of what emotions they are trying to evoke.

I've been talking about this trailer track since december, reading every post about it, on any website. It's not Hempsey, he stood up and took credit for his track mind heist pretty quick. The first trailer was by a sencit music, but all they did was take the brooding horn zimmer uses and layered it with some ambient strings and sounds. The second trailer hit me in the face and said "here's the movie you've been waiting for - best movie ever - don't miss a single second. Love, Hans motha' f'in zimmer".

I've been determined to get it without any vocal or background audio included in the trailer. The last time I felt like this about a piece of music was with John Murphy's "in the house, in a heartbeat".

I've seriously considered "extracting" it from my local regal....but I'm going to need a good architect.

HZgui reply Replies: 0 || 2010-07-27 00:00:00
JustinCat-528491 is not the same or slightly different. In terms of progression I see what you mean ;)

The percussion are totally different (I listen to the moment just before the broum and this is almost the same percs in Mind heist).
The mix is totally different too. But this is just my point of view.

Okay I agree, it "sounds like" 528491 but it's a remix at best...nothing more (I'm a DJ and a Zimmer fan for so long...).

I'm curious as to why it is so important to put a remix version of 528491, that is not in the movie, that was using in a trailer? This track simply has nothing to do with the Score...the ORIGINAL soundtrack or the movie itself (it's not in the movie).

JustinCat reply Replies: 0 || 2010-07-27 00:00:00
It's the same progression that he has in the film, it's not an argument, it just is. In the track 528491 he also is using either a phase filter or some sort of frequency sweeper, which causes it to sound slightly different. The speed and sound of the effects are different between the two, but the progression is the same. If you can't hear it, I can't teach you to, but anyone with composition or writing experience, wether orchestral or any other style, will tell you that is the same piece of music.

I'm curious as to why you think it isn't him?

HZgui reply Replies: 0 || 2010-07-27 00:00:00
JustiCat- Well "I am impressed" haha lol. Maybe you're right maybe you're wrong. But I'm still not convinced. It can't be him.

Shahrouz reply Replies: 0 || 2010-07-27 00:00:00
