theeaglesfan0052011-10-09 04:43:23
how do you have a track list for something that isnt out?

Anonymous2011-10-09 17:29:59
Yeah this is BS. And in wrong order!

Mr. Fate2011-10-09 17:49:07
Well, then, what is the right order? This one looks far more believable than what we got out of Mark G. or even better than his original track list. Perhaps someone is just guessing with the track titles but the lengths definitely correspond to the order of music in the film. I've done it myself; I may have split some things a bit differently but the isolated cues' lengths totally match up.

Anonymous2011-10-09 18:59:17
The credits are a suite of score and a source cue so should not have a cue number and be one long track. And how does one explain the Version 2 cues? Where is It's A Trap?

RatsInJeans2011-10-09 19:57:16
One explains the version 2 cues because there are alternate versions to several of the cues.

I was tempted to leave off the slate number for the credits, but I just thought I'd number it along with the rest. Mr. Fate is right: since the original ASCAP cues were listed in alphabetical order, I had to guess what order they really go in. I see now that I've left out "It's a Trap".

I would have to guess that it would be either 3m18a or b, thereby throwing off the rest of the numbering as those two are two clearly separate cues--renaming one to 3m19...But, I am only making educated guesses--the track lengths *are* right though; I didn't make them up.

So, Mr. Anonymous, can you tell me what my track list *should* look like? You are implying you know more than me.

Mark G.2011-10-09 21:16:52
So where did this come from...

Mr. Fate2011-10-09 21:21:36
I can't believe you'd still show your face 'round these parts, after what you did to us, Mark G.

Papapalpatine772011-10-09 22:11:22
Mark, if you know what's good for you.....leave

Stygian XVII2011-10-10 04:44:59
lmao just messing guys, that was me, its not really mark g (or now "mark jones", might as well be)...and thats my troll for the year :P
but more seriousness now, i'm curious as to where ratsinjeans got this listing, cuz its got cue tags and even track lengths in it.
could this mean we're getting closer to the REAL deal? (and REAL DEAL meaning something other than some fake 16-track shit i wasted 3 minutes of my life dl'ing...)

Papapalpatine772011-10-10 04:49:49
I didn't think it was him. He doesn't have the balls to come here ever again.

cheesy2011-10-10 04:56:30
lmao good one. I don't know, this list intrigues me no doubt, but I still have a bitter taste in my mouth about all this, so I'm not climbing all over it.

RatsInJeans2011-10-12 03:32:08
Oh I see: things have calmed down now. They deleted some of the more rude comments.

RatsInJeans2011-10-12 23:55:18
Well, now that we've got all that taken care of, and gone forever, I might as well say what's up.

The track list I posted is not real, per se. It's not real in the sense that the recording sessions do not actually look like this--because I do not have the recording sessions, or a complete score. All I did was watch the movie, record when cues started and ended, and then tried to match up the ASCAP titles with the tracks that made sense. Next, I took the total run time of the film and divided it by 20 minutes, to get the 7 reels. The versions 1 and 2 of several tracks are explained by evidence found in the audio of the bonus features for the movie. Several cues have segments that sound different than the versions that got used in the movie--the one I called 5m25 probably being the most noticeable. 5m24 has an alternate segment as well.

I was hoping that someone like the Anonymous that posted three days ago could help me with making a better track list. I don't know why I did this, but hey, at least I'm being up front about it, right? I suspect this list can't be too far off in terms of size, but I may have the slate numbers way off. Either way, this made-up track list looks way more like what I think the recording sessions would look like versus Mark G.'s track list (either one).

Over on the TF2 page, SnakesInPantaloons could have just as easily made up his track list in the same manner. I am not he, as first and foremost evidenced by the fact that I don't capitalize the first letter of every word. Also, I'm not trying to cover up by saying that this is just a DVD rip. :D (I am working on a DVD rip, however, which is structured similarly to this track list.)

Well, this was fun. Goodbye to Mark G. and possibly everyone else as I will most likely not post here anymore. It's just a game to some folks.

Dawn2011-10-13 00:32:05
@RatsInJeans
I understand your point trying to sort the cues from Ascap and trying to fill the blanks.
But why did you make what is for sure a wrong reel/cue list ? Of course you split the tracks using reel duration but most recording sessions are always lacking a few numbers (going from 1m4 to 1m6 for exemple)... Imagining different versions of some cues, alternate takes... And especially with a movie like Inception where the music was written (and re-written) in a suite-like form and thus not having all his cues matching a chronological order.
There's also the problem of tracks used twice ("528491") that would also change your tracklist because, maybe, there was another rejected cue supposed to be used at the same place in the beginning...

It really looks like everybody here is starving for more music and is doing weird things... I've been waiting for some of my favorite scores to come as complete versions or even bootlegs for more than 15 years. Some of them still remain unreleased and I simply try to accept it and have a normal life. You guys must accept the fact that, maybe, you'll have to wait 15-20 years to finally listen to it (if it is ever released) and have the real tracklist.
As for now, enjoy the soundtrack CD, enjoy your other complete scores for other movies, and stop with those insane obsessions of creating fake tracklistings, fake bootlegs, fake bonus tracks, fake informations...

Areozz2011-10-13 01:10:47
What does this have anything to do with Inception? Harry Gregson-Williams didn't write for Inception, and that hyperlink is so complicated that it would have just been easier for you to say what the new music by Harry Gregson-Williams was.

Ah, nevertheless I suppose, thank you for getting us away from this mess.

Hey man, 59 year old guy here who listens to your Gladiator soundtrack whenever I get timid. I write for kids, (boomkids, com) so not exactly a "slice their head off" kind of guy. But you have infused that music with emotion that cannot quite be quantified. One Christmas 5 years back, without my kids, your soundtrack got me through. THANKS! PS

cheesy reply Replies: 3 || 2011-10-02 04:25:03
Hate to break it to everyone, but it's a fake edit that combines featurette rips, DVD rips, app rips, and official album tracks. Don't really know where Mark G got his original track list from, but it's certainly not what we were given.

Drunkenmunkey2011-10-07 00:00:24
a fan edit perhaps like snakes over on the ROTF page?

Dimensioner2011-10-07 00:27:09
Well, ya see: the truth is that whatever was posted didn't even match the original track list. All the slate numbers had been dropped, but they had been fake anyway. What got shared had 10 fewer tracks than what had first been listed.

I really hope Snakes doesn't do an edit based off of that track list. No offense to the guy, but his edits are not so great. I'm not even trying to imply that my edit of the score could be better--I just have more effective methods.

Sorry, I didn't mean to turn this into a post about me...I'm still trying to figure out if that track list Snakes posted was based on something legitimate or not. Follow the conversation below the track list...I just posted there a couple days ago in an attempt to learn more.

Drunkenmunkey2011-10-09 04:14:13

I'm not quite clear how things stay on here but I just want to say a few words.
I would like to congratulate Hans Zimmer for the movie Inception, the soundtrack is a true masterpiece, I love all the melodies, especially Time One Simple Idea and Dream is Collapsing, those tracks are my favorites.
Everyone that agrees me I please to congratulate Hans for those compositions, those tracks are truly work of art.
Congratulations again Hans, you're more than just an artist!

Hello everyone who is a fan of Hans Zimmer.
Not many time ago I didn't even heared about his name but after what I saw Inception movie and I heared that magnific, magical music I decided to find out who composed that splendor, and I found that was him.
My favourite tracks are Time, One simple Idea and Dream is Collapsing(in descending order).
Again, congratulations to Hans Zimmer.
He is a great artist indeed!

What are to talking about? Are you referring to the 5.1 surround version of the OST? It isn't even the whole score; two tracks are missing.

Pal90002011-09-18 19:08:55
I dont know if Dobbleganger is right or not, but honestly, if someone declares they have something, then keeps delaying it, that's fishy behavior.

If this guy Mark has it, good for him, if he doesn't, shame on him. But if someone has something, communicates this and genuinely wants to be cooperative, they would be cooperative.

In this case I would say go the middle ground, give the guy the benefit of the doubt since most on here seem to think he's legit...and if nothing happens by October 1 (other than the Rapture after that date), then you all know where you stand with this Mark guy...2 week grace period due to a seeming "legit variable".

of course you gotta admit, Youtube samples would help his case out, wouldn't it

Some people might, but I'm done with gobble, as I stated above. Don't feed the troll. My father left when I was 4 years old, just want to point that out. Anyway, people I know (higher-up people) have been in contact with him. He just got back from a business trip. He's tired. He has things to do. He can't live here 24/7. I will be happy when we get Inception AND Dark of the Moon.

Fallafel2011-09-19 06:27:16
You know what? You shouldnt' discredit Guy's idea.

It doesn't really matter if someone spoket o someone else who is allegedly in a Higher up position. The FACT is that 1: someone came in here claiming to have a complete score/whatever. 2: people try to negotiate with the person to release it, or sample it to get enough evidence to believe the person 3: the person either provides evidence that he/she has it, or they don't 4: people start arguing over validity issues when the person doesn't and if he/she does, they either argue further, hope it gets leaked or try to deal with this person. 5: eventually either the score gets leaked, or hello - the guy cheats people out of their money and trust, doesn't give them anything and then disappears forever, only to be magically replaced by some OTHER person who claims to have a score. 6: The cycle continues.

This guy said/agreed on releasing it leaking it before or by or on October 1. If he stalls, then you know what's what, like that other dude said. Why you gottta keep gumming about this crap?

cheesy2011-09-12 22:52:58
Interesting... but the film was definitely more than five reels. Plus I doubt "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien" would be tagged as "5M39" (as if it were specifically scored for a scene to the film...) besides most of these tracks here include more than one scene and yet are only tagged as one.

Mark G.2011-09-12 22:59:54
There are 2 versions. This one is the 'mastered' one where its like the batman begins. theres 2 versions, one where each cue splits and some are merged. like the ras al ghul cue its 6:39 but that splits into 2 tracks, 3:15 and a 3:30. this one is simply brought to you by the same people (sort of). there's no quality loss at all, its just a better version for those who hate 40 1 and 2 min cues as apposed to 15 or 20 longer tracks.
also I've just done this by memory, so the reel cues will most likely be off. sorry, if I find the list again ill post the right ones. its a close guesstimate.

Mark G.2011-09-12 23:05:36
also non je ne regrette rein comes after end credits, this one doesn't have them both merged. in fact, thats the only bit of music that didn't come with this, a good 15-20 seconds missing, at best. its no big deal, but I felt it necessary to add the full song instead. Inception would have come after End Credits, its not a fan rip its the real thing, and if you wish to know, yes "Inception" is the music from the website, the full thing.

Mark G.2011-09-13 21:30:07
If I am to post this anywhere, the place "mentioned" earlier would be the best and only place I'd do it, then leave everyone to share it anywhere else as they see fit. I simply want TF3 to come out so I can release inception within the same time frame. I'd explain everything, but not at the moment as its to public to tell you the whole story. as for youtube, I'd hate to tease you guys. I'd rather post the full score or none, like I also said earlier. Plus, even if I wanted to, it would mean you'd be less likely to get the score, since people will find me and the "elites" so you call them will prevent me from proceeding with any further actions. plus, I could loose my job.

At least if its out there, its harder to track. watermarking files is bullshit, fyi. the elites just want to scare you from sharing them. I know this because I started the rumors on a very small scale site to keep a member from posting certain things that still needed to be finalized and properly mastered. (sorry :/) I'm on a trip still so if TF3 was posted within the next few days, the earliest you'll get inception is friday.

Mr. Fate2011-09-13 23:40:20
Why did EVERYTHING but one of cheesy's posts, and all of Mark's posts get deleted? All the posts I made were to gain important information, and Mark answered all of it....What's going on here?

You've left a one-sided conversation here, which is actually more suspicious than if you'd just erased the whole thing.

cheesy2011-09-14 00:48:10
...I think these posts are left because they don't have anything to do with distribution and mainly just provide information. Except for Mark G.'s last one, of course, which is probably only still there because of how recent it is.

Mr. Fate2011-09-14 01:54:42
Yeah, but a lot of the other posts that got deleted were not about distribution either. I asked him questions about the layout of the score, and such, and he appropriately answered them. There may have been some useless posts in between us from skeptical people, but couldn't they have just filtered those out instead of deleting everything? I like to have information, and normally information is permanent (unless it's dealing with science).

If they keep deleting informative posts, I might just have to start keeping a WordPad document open to copy down useful information in the occurrence that someone should feel the need to delete it at a later point. I guess I better start that now, in case they do decide to delete his most recent post!

John2011-09-14 03:26:11
Is this a legit recording session list? Are we expecting this any time soon?

Mark G.2011-09-14 03:42:17

T-Mann, don't be such a Debbie Downer. Wait till late tonight, or maybe even tomorrow. He says he will share them, but *maybe* (and probably) not as soon as we all hoped. Have patience!

Please, do not have someone complete score from Inception, or at least where it would be possible to get the score?

Takehiro2011-08-02 21:46:14
Sadly there isnt one available to us mere fans. Only certain people have it, and they are industry professionals.

Cobb2011-08-02 21:56:33
it exists enough to have it be rubbed in the faces of ourselfs, not being able to hear it >:(

Takehiro2011-08-02 22:15:13
Really? I have yet to see proof it exists.

Cobb2011-08-02 23:37:00
well obviously I haven't seen it myself, but there are people out there that have it. like someone said earlier, if it's been recorded and is in a film, it exists

Areozz2011-08-03 00:19:21
BOOM!!! Everyone everywhere needs to see and understand the statement you just made Cobb!

Agnt007dman2011-08-03 00:35:20
Just because it's been recorded and is in a film does not mean there is a complete film score to something. Transformers, Transformers 2, Transformers 3, POTC, Hannibal, Madagascar, Madagascar 2, Angels & Demons & The Da Vinci Code are just some that I can think of. I would have listed Sherlock Holmes, but I'm not quite sure what the situation is with that tracklist or something. It may be made up

Takehiro2011-08-03 00:41:22
DMan, the Sherlock Holmes tracks are legit, they are the cues that Zimmer registered with ASCAP. So that is their real names. Whether they exist on CD amongst the general public, however, is another matter.

Agnt007dman2011-08-03 00:49:10
Ok, thanks for clearing that up. But am I correct about the others I mentioned?

Jimmer2011-08-03 01:08:20
Actually no, because I have some unreleased tracks from Angels & Demons as well as the amazing 72-track version of Transformers, complete with the 8-minute version of "Arrival To Earth." As far as the Pirates of the Caribbean movies go, I am 100% positive that complete scores exist for those films, however, like others have said on other threads, they are held under tight lock-and-key and may never see the light of day, er ears of the public rather. My fingers are still crossed for a Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen recording sessions though.

Shawn2011-08-03 01:17:02
Suddenly a Wild complete score for Inception appears...

Will they buy it?

Oh man...Cmon guys.

Takehiro2011-08-03 01:53:22
The A&D tracks are not legit, if theyre the ones I have had. DVD rips.

Jimmer2011-08-03 02:10:40
@Takehiro: Well, some of the unreleased cues are definitely ripped from the DVD, but I have a pretty solid extended version of "507", though I am unsure how legitimate it is.

@Shawn: There's an Inception Complete Score in the wild? Do you have anymore details on it?

Shawn2011-08-03 02:16:10
Maybe you should ask that guy who's going around saying he's got complete scores for everything I heard he's got IT ALL. Im not gonna lie to you and tell you I have it cuz i dont. but apparently this one poster on here does. Maybe this guy is Hanz Zimmer for all i know.

HeyYOU reply Replies: 4 || 2011-08-02 23:10:57
Don't go too crazy about a complete score for this. Cause really, we have most of the music in the film, the most notable missing pieces I can think of atm are the film versions of "Mombassa" and "Time".

Areozz2011-08-02 23:40:20
How can you say the "most notable missing pieces" are those two tracks? We have those two tracks in their entirety, but there are a couple missing inserts. What /IS/ missing is the film version of most of the rest of the tracks like "Old Souls," "Don't Think About Elephants,"Dream is Collapsing," and "Waiting for a Train"...not to mention countless minor themes that may have only made brief appearances in "Projections".

Oh...I see you wrote 'at the moment.' My opinions hold.

cheesy2011-08-02 23:46:43
I would have to strongly disagree. Almost every piece heard in the film, which is technically what would be represented on a complete score such as this, is either entirely unreleased and unrepresented on the soundtrack (i.e. Cobb calls his kids, the Saito helicopter sequence, "We Need a Forger" just before the Mombasa chase, the entire Mr. Charles sequence, the list goes on and on), or a distinct and exclusive film version or mix (like Mombasa and Time as you are saying).

On the other hand, most if not all of the pieces on the soundtrack (except for a few of course) are exclusive album versions and suites. Not to mention the fact that the soundtrack, while excellently edited, is quite frankly way too loud. That's one of the reasons I enjoy complete scores so much, is because not only do you get a truck load of unreleased music, but nothing is as horribly equalized and amplified as on the official release.

So like I said, I respectfully couldn't disagree more. This is actually a complete score that I am eagerly awaiting. However, I have great patience, because I know first hand how almost impossible these things are to find and how slowly but surely they leak down the pipe. But still, this is a complete score that would arguably provide the most unreleased material of anything we've gotten so far this past year.

cheesy2011-08-02 23:48:21

There's an interesting article here about Zack Hemsey: www.slashfilm.com/inception-trailer-composer-zack-hemsey-pro filed/
It mentions that his music for the trailer was actually what inspired Zimmer to incorporate that into the score... I'd always assumed that it was the other way around, with Zimmer's score being written prior to the trailer piece. Does anyone know if that is accurate?

Sam2011-04-29 18:18:10
This is not accurate, Hans Zimmer has always produced similar scores: Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and Inception. The choice of what to incorporate and where was probably not influenced by someone else in such a drastic way.
