He did...once... ;)So why exactly did Hans fight for Rupert with Wonder Woman and why is he scoring '84? Not criticizing, I just remember him thinking that it was better for more women to be involved as composers or performers on Wonder Woman projects.

I don't even necessarily agree with the concept that a woman needs to score a movie about women, I'm just curious why he wanted Rupert in and why he himself took over for the sequel if he felt that way?I would have gone with...
Music was good, didn't fit the DCEU, film was the worst thing ever.

Hans is fine, prefer his older stuff.Hybrid, do you have the Inception credits?Hybrid? Any chance you could upload some unreleased tracks from this to your channel? Or just that suite, that you did but was removed :/
Welp, necro thread i guess.Back then people still used CDs from time to time and a CD can only fit a little more than an hour worth of MP3s on it.Music was good, film was better. Nay, good. nothing, better than Hans

Hans, for you. <3

Sincerely,
RicardoSometimes, I wish the world was, one with iself. This, music and harmony set into one man's vision. Can someone ask Powell or Zimmer to put up some demos or suites from this score for study. It's such a great score and a real demonstration that a team effort can produce real quality.@Hybrid Soldier
Did HZ just do the first season of wormhole and then his stuff gets reused/rearranged by Jacob Shea or did he consistently write throughout several seasons?Thanks for the great insight as always Hybrid!Any idea when can we expect a track list of Tom's score ?It depens on person, you don't like it but this ost got millions of likes. You are only free to express your opinion.
Mmmh yeah let's say he acted like a music producer until Rupert was in, even as early as 2016 (right after BVS) he met with Patty Jenkins, he was never gonna do it because he was on tour anyway but he had the ideas as to who could/should score it. He had many ideas, submitted names etc.

Rupert got the gig in the end. Rupert I think could actually have come back to WW84, WW was a tough project but there was no problem (hell, he nailed it with Aquaman too, which was much easier cause there was no "legacy" to follow), but it really is Hans who showed interest to actually do it. Hans got really attached to Wonder Woman, playing the theme in his 2017 Live Tour. I think he wanted more than be the "WW Theme Writer", he wanted to have a full WW score.@Hybrid to what extent was HZ involved on the first Wonder Woman?
He said in an interview for WW84 that he was reluctant to accept because he had « fought hard to get Rupert the gig »
Is it a case of the producers/director wanted him and he said « I can’t do it but Ruper can »? And was the first one a mess, hence the fact that RGW isn’t scoring the sequel?It’s encouraging to know that Tom was proud of this score, as excited as I am to hear his reuse of themes I am just as excited to see what new ideas he came up with for the project.
Someone who supposedly heard a bit of the music on here (I think they worked as his assistant) said it sounded a bit like Fury Road and Deadpool mixed, but who knows.

If the score hasn’t been recorded yet my personal wish is for Conrad Pope to be involved somehow lolHey, so...a new expanded album for KFP2 seems to have leaked last January, and I haven't seen it listed on this site yet. I bring it up because it finally honest-to-God included a cue from the Zen Ball sequence I've been waiting to hear isolated for years, since BOTH the other albums just completely omitted it. And I dunno, I guess I feel like it deserves some acknowledgement.It would be cool if Junkie has the chance to use Rubert's Aquaman theme as well now that we have it. It would make the score feel even more complete!

Was the music made before the visual effects throughout the whole movie? It sure seems like it the way everything just forms together. My favorite part? Don't have one but the absolute beginning part of the movie with the loud, heavy brass was tremendously powerful and moving. I sure would love it if a sequel is made!

Anyone who thinks Inception is stupid is ridiculous. Social Network was good but at the end it was like Okay, while Inception with its dream concepts, sleek and special effects; it was on another level. When I saw Inception everyone in the theater went crazy for that ending.could anyone have directed Social Network and come up with something similar? hmmm YES. could anyone have directed Inception and come up with something so groundbreaking and amazing? NO! Nolan is doing things these days that no-one is doing. For god sakes he took Batman and made enough people outraged that it wasn’t up for BEST PICTURE!

They will nominate Inception and the Social Network for score, but they will not win this category. They have to nominate this soundtrack beacuse are part of the best picture nominees, just for that. Both movies has greats scores, but to be Fair, Honestly and a truly movies soundtrack lover, the score of HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON(John Powell), SHOULD GET THE OSCAR. Is an extraoirdinary score. For me, the best score since the Lion King or the Lord of the Rings(WHAT MAKES A CLASSIC). Is a must-hear-score...and of course the movie.

Dakota reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-18 00:00:00
@Mike,

I'm guessing you didn't read my post to Hybrid Soldier, Oneill & Levente. UNLESS The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences changes the ruling of nominating multiple composers for the same work, Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross will not get a nomination. I will bring this up this again, why do you think Gladiator & The Dark Knight weren't even nominated? Becuase they weren't solely Hans Zimmer. He had Lisa Gerrard on Gladiator, and James Newton Howard on The Dark Knight. It will not happen.

MIKE reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-18 00:00:00
what?? but then, how was The Hurt Locker nominated for his score(it has two composers)?Answer: Because it was nominated for Best Picture. It was just for that, It wasn't a remarkable score (It was a surprise at that time).And I remenber very well the nomination for Hans Zimmer's Gladiator score, the TDK was another issue.

Dakota reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-18 00:00:00
Hmm...maybe. That could be. Because along with The Hurt Locker, Avatar & Up were other films that were nominated for both Best Picture & Original Score. I never noticed this. Well, I found the ruling for nominating a score, have a look. So maybe I was right - it looks like they did change it, as I mentioned below. The A.M.P.A.S. must have changed the ruling. Here: http://www.oscars.org/awards/academyawards/rules/rule16.html

@Dakota

Well you see it doesn't matter how many times I listen this score it always lets me down. Almost a failure. :(
The last tim ein the past 5 years Zimmer impresed my was Angels & Demons only and only. You could wonder how many times I waited a great soundtrack from "the German".
Maybe that is also I have mixed feelings for this one, not to mention Megamind, which I thought a funny score, but still nothing special.
I'm still impresed by others who says Inception best of the year, Oscar for him!
Narnia, How to Train, Tron, The Last Airbender, Salt, The Expendables for me the years best.
But if Inception gets a nomination, I'll only cheer for Zimmer if Powell will not get a nomination. :)

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-18 00:00:00
The Megamind CD presention is pretty bad... Even Lorne agrees with me on that !

The score has heard in film is much much better (there's just half of the score on CD) ! :S

I completely agree with Dakota, HOW COULD INCEPTION WIN NO GOLDEN GLOBE?!!! NOT FOR MOTION PICTURE - DRAMA IS OUTRAGEOUS, BUT FOR MUSIC, JUST NO... ¬¬
Ah, whatever, it doesn't matters if it wins or not awards, what it matters is that it's one of the best (or THE BEST) movie(s) and soundtrack(s) EVER

Dakota reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-17 00:00:00
I can't believe Hans didn't win the Golden Globe....... =(

Dakota reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-17 00:00:00
Agreed. It's just such an awesome movie. I was hoping it would win ALL the Globes it was nominated for, but it was The Stupid Network that won instead. Well, there's always the Academy Awards. And Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross will not even get nominated due to academy regulations, so there's a plus =)

Oneill5491 reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-17 00:00:00
@Dakota,

I also heard the rumor that the score to "The Social Network" would be disqualified from the Oscar running (from slashfilm.com), but I was unable to find official information on the net about that getting DQed. I think it's still in the running which really ticks me off. I think the judges at the Academy Awards are as stupid and easily swayed by popularity as the ones at the Golden Globes are.

Levente reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-17 00:00:00
"The Social Network" could be disqualified from the Oscar since two people are credited to scoring it. And it is possible that the amount of music is misisng for each credit. For example Lisa Gerrard wasn't nominated for Gladiator since she didn't had the amount of music credited to her. If you have the DVD listen the commentary by Russel Crow and Ridley Scott they talk about it.

And I knew this score (Inception) wouldn't win. This isn't a fantastic score, it is only a well amde soundtrack that fits perfectly for the movie. Nothing special. If I had to chose I would say: Powell - How to train Your Dragon.

Dakota reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-17 00:00:00
@Hybrid,

It's just that we want to see our (atleast mine) favorite composers win for their outstanding achievement, ie Hans Zimmer for Inception. My favorite film and score of 2010.

@Oneill & Levente,

It will be disqualified as far as the contenders for Best Original Score, because it is Trent & Atticus. They don't credit multiple composers for one score. An that IS why Hans Zimmer & Lisa Gerrard couldn't get an Oscar nom for Gladiator, or Hans & James Newton Howard for The Dark Knight. And Levente, in your opinion it's not a fantastic score. To me, it is. I've heard How To Train Your Dragon is very very good, but I still haven't seen it. I'll have to watch it soon & download the soundtrack. Anyway, if Inception gets a nomination I hope with all my heart is wins.

Only the music matters... You can't listen to awards... Great music, you CAN ! :)

I bought the special edition version of the DVD of Inception and was extremely pleased to see that the 5.1 soundtrack is on the second disk. I hoped that the disk may have also included these tracks in MP3 format so I can play them while out and about (when not able to carry a dvd player!). I will probably pick up a copy of the soundtrack on CD though as it really is once of the most fantastic film scores I've ever heard, since listening to these tracks I have also downloaded the iphone/ipod app, if you haven't already it is well worth checking out if you are a fan of the music.

@iceboy couldnt agree more about the bootlegs thing

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-09 00:00:00
Actually, we never had bootleg issues here with RCP people...

I just remember an email from Jim Dooley requesting us to remove a Pushing Daisies promo page, as his score for season was about to come out... So we did...

Or Disney (lol) asking for us to remove extracts...

But you know, bootlegs are not an issue for composers... They are for the studios which own the music rights...

Hans, Lorne and some others I know have never complained about that, and actually some do think it's quite funny (lol)... It's more like they close their eyes, "not seen, not taken" ! :P

Iceboy reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-09 00:00:00
@Dakato, in response to "And, how is it? Worth a look? Any SFX?"

No SFX at all. The track "Inception" is the real treat, featuring the end credits in lossless quality (ie not ripped from DVD). The suite is nice, but nothing really new there, and the trailer music is great too, also in good quality. Its a step up from the commercial album but nothing amazing.

@Anone, in response to "can you guys all stop talking about bootlegs ALL THE TIME it's really annoying. The album is for listening to and the rest of the music is in the film."

I guess your love of the music isnt as great as ours, who want to be able to listen to a complete score without dialog or FX. Theres nothing wrong at all with that wish. Its so disappointing when you find a commercial CD is lacking music or is mixed differently. For example, Edelman's score to xXx is terrible on the commercial CD - its clipped, completely out of sequence, is missing around 70% of the music and some of the music on there isnt even in the film. Whilst the 2CD bootleg is in film order, contains all the right music, is not mastered overly loud and is complete. Its so much better. Granted not every score release is as badly arranged as that but sometimes a bootleg is all you need.

Hybrid, does Hans ever visit here and see all the comments that we leave? I'm just curious, I hope he knows how much of us love his work and could not live without it. I think he is the greatest composer ever.

Hybrid Soldier reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-08 00:00:00

But trust me he has NO interest in bootleg discussions like you just keep doing around Dakota !! :S

Discussing music is one thing, discussing bootlegs is another... :S

Anon reply Replies: 0 || 2011-01-08 00:00:00
Yet music is music! I mean, I get it because it's a legal issue and Hans wouldn't want to deal in anything like that. But, from a certain stand point, wouldn't composers want their work heard rather than bought? It can go in the same boat I guess.
