Thank you. And i suppose "Need You Busting My Balls - End Credits" title would correspond to ASCAP "Need You Busting My Balls" + "RUSH END CREDITS", while "Just Married" to "RUSH MAIN ON END"?Thatís literally the best part of the score though. @Iceboy

The score is not ordered into a suite, these are actually played as they go in the film. The order however is a little off. First half of the tracks are as is in the film (give or take from missing cues). Then around the middle beginning with '528491' should be placed before 'Waiting For A Train'.

'Projections' and 'Don't Think About Elephants' are featured somewhere inbetween 'Dream within A Dream' and 'Waiting For A Train'. Other than that, that as much order as it is represented in film.

And well Zimmer usually mixes his tracks in a order for listening purposes, much like a few other composers who do. Reason being is so that the music doesn't get to repetitive, and other times is for the fluid of the music from one track to another.

@Dakota, there IS no real complete. Its not taken from the master tapes, its a very very clever fan edit. Trust me.

Anyway, back OT - does anyone know a rough guide to splitting and ordering this score? I hate how Zimmer CDs are often mixed into suites like this, as I prefer to listen to the score in order.

I LOVE THIS SOUNDTRACK!! (as well as countless other Soundtracks from Hans Zimmer.

I was wondering (as well as thousands of others) if there was a plan to release more music from the movie? I know that there are some variations of the songs in the movie that didn't make it to the soundtrack. I have the two bonus songs, but there is a compilation of a couple of songs toward the end of the movie that wasn't on the soundtrack. Is it available somewhere?

Thanks for the help

I live in the Philippines. In our country, the soundtrack is not yet released (i think). If it really isnt, when's the exact date? If it is, does anyone here know which store would have it?

I felt this is one of the top 5 best scores I have ever heard, it doesn't quite beat out Batman Begins or the Dark Knight but still, the Inception score has very nice tunes. Just wanted to say that the movie Inception along with its score are great. "Keep up the the good work Hans and Nolan and thanks for making me want to dig deeper into my dreams."

A fantastic score! I had the misfortune of missing this one in the theater, but the score alone gives a rich picture of how the film's tale will unfold. I've listened to this one times over. Zimmer's crafting of tracks like "528491", "Dream Within A Dream", "Old Souls", and "Dream Is Collapsing" are tantalizing visions of what my home theater will show me in the immediate future. Thanks, Mr. Zimmer, for giving us yet another feast for the senses! And, of course, to Christopher Nolan, for handing the film's "soul" over to Mr. Zimmer. An "A" score, for sure.

seeing there is that wonderful Japanese character - v. sexy, even to an old, tired and weary duck like me - in Inception, does the music have any Japanes undertones or influences? I feel something, but can't quite bring it to the forefront of my mind......help anyone?

Dakota reply Replies: 0 || 2010-10-29 00:00:00
I wouldn't count on it. It seems as if almost never we get complete releases, in terms of a studio release. If there ever is a complete, it would probably only be available as a download. Of all the complete scores I have, I don't think any of them have been released by the label. When I say this, I mean watertower actually releasing an "Inception Complete Score". Ohh, how awesome that would be though......

Anonymous reply Replies: 0 || 2010-10-29 00:00:00
Yeah i see what you mean...they did officialy release a complete (more complete, at least) album for The Dark Knight, and i'm fairly cetain that was released by the label. That was what got my hopes up because inception and the dark knight are kind of "in the same vein". Oh well i guess we'll see...

Dakota reply Replies: 0 || 2010-10-29 00:00:00
Definately in the same vein. The Dark Knight was only a 2-Disc Collector's Edition. It was moderately a complete, but not really a complete. I have a REAL complete, I posted the tracklist on this site for the standard commercial release. I'll copy & paste it. Here you go, from TDK page:

There are many versions of the "Complete" Score out there. The one I have is one disc, comprised of 46 tracks, 423.1 Megabytes, and 2 hours, 55 minutes, and 41 seconds total. And it's completely SFX free. It's a Godsend. Here's the tracklist:

1.) Bank Robbery (Prologue) (6:26)
2.) Because He's Busy (1:41)
3.) Buyer Beware (2:54)
4.) No Limtis (2:55)
5.) White Knight (2:17)
6.) Kill The Batman (3:04)
7.) Why So Serious? (3:00)
8.) Welcome To Honk Kong (1:55)
9.) Break In (3:51)
10.) Agressive Expansion (4:59)
11.) Party Crashers (2:52)
12.) Watch The World Burn (2:00)
13.) Blackmail (2:51)
14.) Dishonor Guard (2:51)
15.) Blood On My Hands (4:51)
16.) The Right Choice (3:27)
17.) Hit Me! (3:10)
18.) Interrogation (2:34)
19.) Two-Way Race (6:56)
20.) Harvey Two-Face (1:41)
21.) Better Class oOf Criminal (2:37)
22.) Introduce A Little Anarchy (5:58)
23.) Resignation - Unlucky (5:23)
24.) The Ferries (4:27)
25.) Hostages & Clowns (2:23)
26.) Building Seige (3:43)
27.) Verge Of Fireworks (5:31)
28.) Morality Of Chance (4:16)
29.) Set The Dogs On Me (3:54)
30.) End Credits (7:23)
31.) Watchful Guardian (Alternate) (0:46)
32.) Always A Catch (Alternate) (0:54)
33.) Heroic Theme (Alternate) (3:20)
34.) Epic Theme (Alternate) (0:22)
35.) Joker Suite (Alternate) (9:14)
36.) Harvey Dent Suite (Alternate) (6:17)
37.) The Dark Knight Suite (Alternate) (7:48)
38.) Ferry Suite (Alternate) (4:25)
39.) Chaos Suite (Alternate) (3:22)
40.) Harvey's Theme (Alternate) (1:18)
41.) Why So Serious? (The Crystal Method Remix) (5:30)
42.) Poor Choice Of Words (Paul Van Dyk Remix) (6:15)
43.) Gunpowder & Gasoline (Mel Wesson Remix) (4:34)
44.) Rory's First Kiss (Ryeland Allison Remix) (6:04)
45.) The Dark Knight Trailer (Performed by Groove Addicts) (1:30)
46.) Interrogation (Alternate) [Extended] (3:06)

Tracks 41-46 are included on the 2-Disc Special Edition. I know that the entire score is labelad as "Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard", but I was wondering if anyone knows which tracks are individually composed by them. I saw a video that has Hans performing the more tense, action pieces while James does the dramatic piano. It's obvious to tell when you are listening to them individually, but I wanted to know for sure. It's a shame this beautiful score could not even get nominated for an Academy Award due to the stupid Academy regulations of it being performed by both of them, and not one (which is why Batman Begins could not get anything either). It truly is an amazing piece of work, unlike ANYTHING I have ever heard. There is a reason why Hans Zimmer is my favorite film composer of all time. I Love You Hans.

Out of every complete that I own, whether it's Avatar, Gladiator, Lord of the Rings (all three) or Transformers.......this one probably has to take the cake.

I believe the music from both of those scenes is the bonus track, "Don't Think About Elephants."

i myself am yearning for most if not all of the missing cues.

@ismynamealan
i honestly dont know...it's really anyones guess at this point. they announced the expanded "Dark Knight" album at the end of October shortly after the dvd announcement...so if there's any chance at all of a more complete Inception album we should hear about it fairly soon as the timeline is basically the same as TDK.

All we can do is wait, i guess.
