whaaat? the complete score?? where??where did you find it? what is it called on youtube?i found a complete album on YouTube, but the audio quality is not good as I thought. Is it from the recording session? Where can I find a high quality audio of this album to listen?just going to leave this here: el matador del mar, a great character, killed so easily because sparrow needed to be the great hero.

i disapprove, long life salazar!!What is the name of the song playing when Maggie leaves it’s beautiful and haunting. The music from this movie is sheer genius a mix of heavy metal, jazz, and rock and roll! Awesome...!
Yes! Finally someone else who has heard it to! I am a HUGE fan of both trilogy's, do you like POTC?R.I.P. to Ennio Morricone, dead at 91.

For those who aren’t as familiar with his material, check out Once Upon a Time in the West, easily one of the greatest scores of the past century. You can definitely hear where Zimmer took inspiration from, for Pirates/Lone Ranger/Sherlock/Rango/etc.

“Parlay” is such a love letter to the main tune from OUATITW...it‘s unreleased...@hybrid soldier
Where can i hear the songs you have listed out? I can't find it on YouTubeLooks like Zimmer's abandoned Z+. It only worked on one iOS system, then because it wasn't recompiled for the next system wouldn't decode the music you paid for. Locking your purchases into an app was a VERY BAD idea. Now there's nothing out there that's as good at providing a great surround sound experience for headphones.
So Lorne's mp3 uploads. Would anyone class that as an 'official' release of the music from the movie?Currently watching this movie the first time ^^ ... and then... suddenly a music motive spontaneously pops up. Sound exactly like a little part from Armageddon "Secondary Protocol" - really cool :) love the music in this movie. Very intense.I don't mean to pile on but do you really think that Hans touring is the only obstacle to a CD release of a completely forgotten 12-year-old film and score by a different composer?And why would Hans' tours be responsible for the fact that many albums these days don't get a physical release? While at the same time those tours even got an LP release... lolYou are aware that there's a pandemic going on right now, right?
I'm pretty sure that neither did he.I know Geoff does fantasy films and he is good at that, but I didn't want this.Lovely score by Atli, but also a bit typical for this kind of movie. This suite is all you need from this score. The songs are really great. Especially Double Trouble, Husavik and Running With The Wolves (i wish this song would be longer). Very nice movie and with a great soundtrack.Please tell me. When time come to Moscow.Wtf is up with that Time remix with Alan Walker?

@ Robin Hood

dont get me wrong i understand what you are saying and in fact im agree whit you :)

But i have seen som many people on the internett blaming good composers because the director did a bad job. Please dont get me wrong

@Lasse

I understand what you are saying, but that's not the point I am making.

Regardless of what the director wants, Zimmer doesn't have to choose to orchestrate it in the manner he does.

You could still get that exact same music with a far superior sound and performance from the orchestra to boot. What I was saying regarding "I Don't Think Now Is The Best Time" only proves this.

@Robert James

Gladly. (^_^)/

I hear that in track 13 there is a voice...is that track written by Marc?

Lasse reply Replies: 0 || 2010-04-26 00:00:00
@ Robin Hood

perhaps the director told Mr. Zimmer to make the "parlay" soundtrack in Ennio Morricone style.

when it comes to film score the director is the boss not the composer, so if the director says give me a crappy score the composers have to :P Many directors thin they know more about music then the composer but they dont. Who knows music better then a composer, not a director , but the director is still the boss.

Robert James reply Replies: 0 || 2010-04-26 00:00:00
Can I join your band of merry men Robin Hood? You are a smart man. :P

I agree with everything you've said.

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy his Pirates scores, but they would have been so much better if Zimmer would just stop resorting to watering down the orchestration.

His take on Ennio Morricone's Once Upon A Time In The West in "Parlay" is a perfect example.

Morricone himself was never about the complex approach with his westerns, yet his music always had a complex sound to them regardless because of his attention to detail.

Parlay doesn't sound half as good as the original music did. This isn't in reference to the original being clearly better (it however is), it's in reference to his take on the original material having much worse orchestration.

Robin Hood reply Replies: 0 || 2010-04-26 00:00:00
@Miles You're Welcome. :)

Have a listen to Powell's Dragon score.

It's also complex orchestration that really adds to the performance and quality of the score.

Zimmer is all about the simple approach. Simple and Minimalistic do not go hand in hand.

Even the last Pirates score, most people made a comment towards the sudden flux in orchestration at 7:21 into "I Don't Think Now Is The Best Time" and it sounding good, why? Because Zimmer rarely has his music orchestrated like that, and that's a real shame. It's a highlight in that score for all the wrong reasons. :(

Yeah, haha they did. A bunch of critics HATED the score to Gladiator when it originally came out.

Now look where we are! :D

Lasse reply Replies: 0 || 2010-04-25 00:00:00
how is it possible to not like the gladiator score :P

Its so awsome and perfect. many critics hated Robin Hood, my self i look forward to see it :)
i think its gonna be one of the greatest movie this year :)

Richard reply Replies: 0 || 2010-04-25 00:00:00
Are these critics the same ones who called Zimmer's work for Gladiator overbearing when it first came out?

I tend to not give a dick what Critics think. We shall find out for ourselves in the end. ;)

WOW could this actually be good?

I love the Celtic sound. This isn't the one size fits all approach it seems *coughs* Clash of the Titans.

This Streitenfeld fellow has had the common sense to reflect the time period and the people in it, and that makes me pleased! :D

Oliver reply Replies: 0 || 2010-04-24 00:00:00
Haha thanks dude! I even spotted a really cool sounding theme/motif at 0:24 to my ears it's instantly memorable.

Not to mention, trumpets! The god damn trumpets are BACK!!! About time. All these bloody past RC scores have seemed to hate on them and gotten a Cello fetish instead.

I liked the music in that clip too. Looking forward to this one now.

Tracklist up !

Ravi Krishna reply Replies: 0 || 2010-04-21 00:00:00
Looks like my guess about the CD length was right. ;-)

I liked the background clip at the official movie site, even if it sounds kinda generic. If the rest of the score's of an epic RC quality like that, we should have one enjoyable score here.

Adrian reply Replies: 0 || 2010-04-21 00:00:00
Cool, 22 tracks!

Sounds pretty good - samples of 7 tracks are available on the official film website. The track on the "Dover Beach" page sounds interesting - nice Celtic touch. Can't wait for May 11!! This along with inception prince of persia and the voyage of the dawn treader are my most anticipated scores for this year.

Mr Tweedy reply Replies: 0 || 2010-04-21 00:00:00
I simply regret there aren't much lengthier tracks...

Lasse reply Replies: 0 || 2010-04-21 00:00:00
i like the soundtrack on the main page :)

I just hope the choir soundtrack from the trailer is in the movie :)
