Sadly this one failed to impress in any way for me. I felt like falling asleep for much of this album. Overall too simplistic, ugly, and cliched with very difficult to pin down thematic material, as the melodies are so minimalist.To whom it may concern...

Is it possible to download or in any other way purchase the Hannibal (Expanded) score somewhere? I have the original motion picture soundtrack, but would LOVE to have them both..

Best regards

Nicholas10 and 16 are missing from the store pack.Most probablyI am not a hybrid, i will try to give my opinion. I think, music in 5 season will come out when and 6 season. But I really want to be wrong!!! :)
It's very sad...(((The 'Allentown Brothers' track is pretty damn awesome (find it on YouTube). It's like a mix between gothic Elfman, Desperate Housewives and Transformers. I love it.

It's one of those scores that people don't talk about much but it's actually pretty cool.

An awesome venue would be the Opera House in Odessa.Want this so bad!!!Does anyone have a breakdown of this with the official score album?
Hats off to Batu Sener for working on many of the score's best cues though!It all comes to personal preference I think. Personally I’ve moved on from collecting cd’s (or anything really) and would rather have everything digital simply to utilize space.

That being said, I completely understand the appeals of having physical media, it would be sad to see that go away for the people who really love it.It's not only to appreciate the work, its to have something "real" in your hands, for your music collection. I don't like only to have a digital music archive. Of course, i rip all the cds i own to WAV and MP3. But i want to have them in my physical music collection.These day, sure. But we usually get news of the next one by the time he's finished wrapping up the current one.Powell only does 1 score a year.
Still no news on his next score? Is he taking a break or something? Working on more concert stuff?Was pleasantly surprised by this one when I first heard it. Outside of the ‘modern scoring’ portions you get some fun noir music for the squad, solid action writing, and even some good emotional cues.

Also gotta love the rhythmic idea from Antz popping up here...Also, the use of the guitars by Jablonsky, are still the best since the 90sI give a spin (almost 4 years after my last listening), it grown on me (still don't consider of the best of Jab), but much better than Skyscraper (ok score) and Battleship (guilty pleasure, but not a good score by any means), i like the style of Jablonsky in this one, his rhythms (but i still don't care about the 'motif' for Cohen or certain sound design tracks like 'You Can't Shoot Me' or 'You Know the Drill')

But still has such cool action moments (Hot Potato With a Grenade) and emotional/romantic moments, and still enjoyed that from this.<3 Buck Takes the Lead

It`s great to now that Infinity Ward and Hanz Zimmer found a common path. Does someone now when the soundtrack will be released? The same time as the game?

Well, I don't think so. Game composing can sometimes be more challenging than film composing because it's a very interactive medium and a composer can't predict what will happen next on the screen - in opposite to a film. A game composer has to take that into account. Furthermore today's game music plays an important role and the budgets sometimes may even be higher than for film music. Game music for top games is recorded in top studios, with real orchestras. Both, games and game music play a serious part in the entertainment industry nowadays. It's at least as important as scoring for films. Finally HZ proves that he's open-minded and ... most likely well paid for this job. ;)

game scoring is shallow for a serious film composer!

Eli hasn't been confirmed yet, but I think HTTYD will probably be Powell only. Hans certainly has enough in his schedule without those 2 anyway!

Enrico reply Replies: 0 || 2009-09-01 00:00:00
I hope that Hans will work on The Book Of Eli and on How To Train Your Dragon, do you think that he will do these soundtrack too? I hope so...However I don't think that the soundtrack for this video game will be great...what do you think about? I hope that will be a great new year for Hans with Sherlock Holmes, Inception and all these new film...I look forward to this...

We know that John Powell is doing How To Train Your Dragon, but I'm not sure about the HZ/JP Book of Eli rumor...I think we would have had more proof by now if it was true.

dan reply Replies: 0 || 2009-08-31 00:00:00
i think john powell is doing "The Book of Eli" and How to train your dragon along with hans zimmer.

So when he said he'll be taking some years off, he meant he plans on taking even more good opportunities off other young, talented none-remote control composers? Or did he just mean he'll be taking some years off by having his troops write even greater proportions of the music and yet still release it under his name? Bah, why would I care? Black Hawk Down 2 is coming boys and girls. It's coming.

peter reply Replies: 0 || 2009-08-29 00:00:00
