Tina had a lot of work to do here! Each time I listen to "The Oil," I'm convinced it can't get any louder and larger, but it does. If you don't look at the track time, you're just constantly thinking it's about to end, and yet it somehow continues to up the ante until you almost can't handle anymore!I was on three concerts so far and just at the one at Frankfurt some band members came down from the stage after the concert. I didn'f got a autograph but I did photos with nile marr and nick glennie smith. But if you would ask some of the band members I am sure they will say "ok perhaps I can arrange it" would try it this way :)I really like it. It's a clever score that sounds like it had an awful lot of thought put into it.A fanmade.<br><br>Hybrid probably took the track from here because the guy behind the channel was stating that it was original without being. Leaving the link here would only give him more audience.
So I'm curious about something...that fake End Titles track that was posted here twice and removed...if it wasn't Dunkirk, what WAS it? It was actually a decent piece and sounded like Hans.I agree. This to me was Nolan's Revenant. Good looking cinematography, but almost no story and zero emotional connection to anything happening. I disagree with Adam. It doesn't drudge up negative feelings either because, unless you have an explicit connection to the Battle of Dunkirk, it doesn't try to give anything meaning. The film was everything I feared when I saw the trailer, boring and limited in depth. As I was leaving I heard someone describe as a documentary, but I wouldn't even call it that. It is like an art film, definitely not for everyone. I'd probably call it a historical recreation on film.<br><br>As for the "music". It definitely fit the "movie" in that it hardly was the fundamental thing it is described as. Mostly droning noise, air, or ticking. Not for everyone and not really listenable either.<br><br>Overall this felt like a pop-avant garde project. Maybe Dunkirk is something extremely culturally relevant in England? Like still present in the vernacular? I don't know but this movie fails to take add anything to the human experience. It does not transcend its basic scenario and title. Dunkirk. That is it.Nope, it has the inicial feeling of 528491 of Inception.Shivering Soldier is DEFINITELY similar to Bruce's theme in BVSThe Tracklist Of This movie has Been Released At film Music reporter And Film Music Site. Has anyone had any luck getting an autograph after one of his concerts? Going to one soon.*four. Yes, I can do math. :PI like that Lorne is directly credited on Regimental Brothers and End Titles. Ditto Wallfisch with Home, Variation 15, and End Titles. That's three credits from the start!I agree, but this one is much better. It probably felt less emotionally engaging because we've been fed with emotions like friendships, love, joy or sorrow in most of the films. Dunkirk was emotionally engaging with emotions like fear of death, longing to go home. Hope this gives you another perspective
Divisive opinion:<br>I honestly wasn't crazy about the film. It wasn't bad, and the score was very appropriate, but I felt they could have done something different to not just be visually engaging, but emotionally engaging. Maybe I'm crazy, I'm seeing it again today, but that's my initial reaction.@Hari "I am afraid?"<br><br>There is no need to fear. Lol.<br>They have been doing this since ... always<br>Filmtracks since 2003.<br>The problem is that HZ has no formal musical training and this will always put him on a step down when compared to those who have or who in one way or another try to follow in a more orchestral way."At least for people who claim to be more cultured"<br><br>--------------------------------------------------<br><br>@Hari No! He never assumed that. The other day, I think in BvS or Boss Baby review, he commented that people accuse him of always bashing HZ works in exchange for views. But he denies, saying he does this to make it clear that not all people are satisfied with the current situation of the scores produced these days. And that HZ has yes, his share of guilt about it.<br><br>--------------------------------------------------<br><br>I do not like hatred in what he writes. First because it influences other reviewers to do the same and second because it is not 100% fair.<br><br>For PoTC 5, for example, he gave 3 stars. While the other scores of the franchise were always migrating between 1 and 2 stars.<br>If everyone had 3 stars, with the exception of the 4 effort, I'd be okay with that. And his justification for this is that Geoff is ridding the music of the damage franchise brought by Hans. WTF?<br><br>But at the end of the day I'm okay with that too.<br>----------------------------------------------<br>I make it clear that I do not have so much trouble with the way he review the scores. No problem. The problem is the use of hate words whenever it comes with a score review by Hans.<br><br>He called Captain Philips of a piece of shit. Even if I agree with him that it is bad, is sad that you read this. But okay.<br>Wonder Woman wasn't too bad :Dits just Tick Took effect, Great for the Movie but so Disappointed As an Album.<br>You misunderstood me, everything I've heard about the score excited me and I still am very excited to see the movie and to hear the score. I was one of the people who defended Hans' approach early on when "Supermarine" was released. I like what i've heard from the score and I don't want a melody or a main theme. (even though it seems like Supermarine can count as a main theme from what I've heard about the score)<br><br>My issue is with the 11 track 59 minute album. Let's take "The Mole" for example, I've been told that at the 2:00 mark there was a section that's in the movie but was cut out of the track so "The Mole" would've been much longer than 5 minutes. That section is one of my favorite things about the score (it was featured in the prologue). The first clip with Mark Rylance featured music that is similar to the end of "The Mole" but it's not the same cue and it doesn't appear elsewhere on the album. <br>I'm a big, big fan of Hans and Nolan but the fact that they keep screwing up their soundtrack official releases is bothersome to me.

There won't be a CD, DVD or Blu-ray release before July 2017.

Source ?

philip2017-02-02 21:55:34
How do you know?

Lazarus2017-02-03 08:37:37
Logic. It would be the first time, an artist releases his concert on DVD while he is touring with the very same program.

Jim2017-02-06 09:03:04
If someone can get in touch with Eagle Rock and ask them, that would be great. I've sent them two emails and was completely ignored.

philip2017-02-06 18:34:34
@Lazarus: This is exactly what I thougt before. Unfortunately you are right as this would be kinda stupid to release it now.
Still I think it sucks as we are waiting for this for ages now. Why giving the first track for free when nothing else is coming...

@Jim: Same here. I sent them an e-mail last week and I do not expect them to answer anymore.

Still no news about the CD / Blu-Ray of the Live 2016.

The only thing I've found is the official web page of the Blu-Ray producer, they say it's comming soon:
www.eagle-rock-productions.com/hans-zimmer

Interesting, it's A company based in London: Here is their shop, looks A bit cheesy not Really up to date www.eagle-store.com I see A lot of Dutch names in the production for Hans's concert. Interesting We'll see........what will happen the next month.

I cannot come to the show since he doesn't planned, though I really like to buy the CD. when are you going to release it.

Mephariel reply Replies: 3 || 2017-01-16 16:44:52
Leona Lewis's "Now We Are Free" is probably the best one. It provides a softer version of the theme.

Besides that, Vengerov's "Light" is my second favorite.

2 Cellos' "Mombasa" and Stirling's The Dark Knight are interesting to listen to.

I think that is about it.

Leona2017-01-17 10:47:01
Seriously, Leona Lewis' interpretation was the worst i have heard. I always thought she can sing as hell, but when i've heard "Now we are free" from her, my ears have bleeded. It was really bad, many notes were wrong and unenjoyable. She tried it so hard, that it sounded like an amateur singer. For me that song is the worst song in this "collection". A complete fair :(

Leona2017-01-17 10:47:40
fail*

Patrick2017-01-17 10:56:56
I have to agree with Leona: Leona Lewis' "Now we are free" is like the rock band Queen after Freddie Mercury has died: It's so unique, not a single singer will be able to match it. The closest was the singer in the initial Hans Zimmer Revealed Concerts in London.

Hans Zimmer - The Calssics reply Replies: 13 || 2017-01-04 12:04:13
Hey, I don't know why it's not listed here, but on January 13 an album with songs of Hans Zimmer will be released, performed by his friends Tina Guo, Roger Sayer (Interstellar organist), Lang Lang, Lindsey Stirling, Leona Lewis and more. Here the track listing:

1. Main Theme (From "The Dark Knight Rises") - Lindsey Stirling
2. Themes (From "Pirates of the Caribbean") - The Piano Guys
3. Gladiator Rhapsody (From "Gladiator") - Lang Lang
4. Main Theme (From "Crimson Tide") - Till Brönner
5. Time (From "Inception") - Tina Guo
6. This Land (From "The Lion King") - Amy Dickson
7. Now We Are Free (From "Gladiator") - Leona Lewis
8. Flight (From "Man of Steel") - Lang Lang and Maxim Vengerov
9. Light (From "The Thin Red Line") - Maxim Vengerov
10. The Battle Scene (From "Gladiator") - Khatia Buniatishvili
11. Mombasa (From "Inception") - 2 Cellos
12. The Docking Scene (From "Interstellar") - Roger Sayer

Hybrid Soldier2017-01-04 22:54:52
Nope nope nope.

I'm interested in HZ's career, not what others make up of his music !

Mike2017-01-04 23:55:37
Whoa, if Roger Sayer is doing the Docking scene, might it be closer to the film version (full organ)?!

???2017-01-05 12:55:42
Come on! Even Tina Guo's solo album is listed here :P

kek2017-01-05 13:29:52
Yeah, but the problem with your logic is that this is the official HZ website, not the "what does Hybrid Soldier feel interested in" website.

Are french people really this dumb?

Hybrid Soldier2017-01-05 19:05:06
Nope, I made it become official over the years, and one of my missions has always been to clean things up among the shitload of CDs using the name "Hans Zimmer" on them.

Ultimately, yes, it is what I am interested in... If I ever add that "Classics" CD there, it sure will never end up in Hans' discography !

Ds2017-01-05 21:04:20
Hybrid, do you know if HZ had anything to do with this release at all? It seems like such a bad idea, and I'm not really fond of the few tracks that have been released so far, it just doesn't sound as good as the originals.

Paul2017-01-07 21:48:48
I just wonder why was this album promoted in the concert programme I bought during the show then, if Hans really has nothing to do with it...

e2017-01-08 06:02:15
The Dark Knight Rises thing was hideous honestly. :

Just sounds like a cello poorly dubbed over the original.

Patrick2017-01-13 00:20:28
This is really, really an unimportant release. Mombasa, played by 2Cellos, is the only one, which sounds kind of interesting, the rest is absolutely boring and doesn't add any value to Hans Zimmers work.

Sean2017-01-13 12:39:17
I like the new interpretations of Hans Zimmer's music. But they also could have been uploaded here like the fans arrangements.

boring2017-01-15 17:08:42
whose idea was this release.

Some of the tracks are actually abysmal. I thought hans hated his name being slapped on shit exploitative releases like this.

Kalman2017-01-16 15:10:30
Well, I for one like this release! I don't think it is exploitative; I rather enjoy the specific musical ideas and new orchestrations/instruments present in the tracks. It is far better than just another Prague re-recording of Hans' music.

Sean2017-01-16 18:37:46
The sticker on the album says:
"The best of Hans Zimmer
+ selected by him*
+ new arranged
+ new recorded with top stars"

*Hans Zimmer made a song selection of this album and was involved in this project.

It's pretty cool that he'll play in front of such a broad audience. At the same time it's horribly painful to see his name written in such small letters while Beyonce takes half the page :-p
Let's hope he won't have to play early in the afternoon, because this concert is at its most spectacular when it's completely dark. I can't imagine The Dark Knight played in daylight!

I love Spidey 2, but I agree that if one track should be removed, it's definitely that one. It's not an iconic score in HZ's career, it really seems out of place when you think about the set list and the amount of scores that didn't make it...

World Tour ?

Guys, while checking the Antwerp Sportpaleis site for the June 20th 2017 concert, the french speaking page mentions this :

"Les concerts live d’Hans Zimmer en 2017 commenceront sur la côte ouest des États-Unis et parcourront l’Australie et la Nouvelle-Zélande avant de venir en Europe, d’o&#249; Hans et ses musiciens repartiront aux États-Unis pour leur premi&#232;re grande tournée américaine."

Which can be translated by :

"Hans Zimmer 2017 live concerts will start on the West Coast of the US and will travel all around Australia and New-Zealand before heading back to Europe, from where Hans and his musicians will go back to the US for their first huge American tour.

Has anyone heard of this ?
