Well, considering there's a lot more advanced orchestral writing in a lot of Transformers: The Game (which was composed by Jablonsky and Flood), than in many of Steve's other projects, I can't help but feel the more advanced stuff here was Flood too. Plus Flood's contribution to "Flying Battle" in D-War kind of makes him seem like the more advanced orchestra composer.Any idea about Bobby's credits here Hybrid? ASCAP doesn't list anything for the specific album cues and I got no idea what to search for regarding session names. The greatest thing that could happen, if Katsuhiro Otomo, who returns after very long 15 years break, reunited with Steve for his new anime «Orbital Era». I don't know the story behind the creation of «Steamboy» and how Steve get that job, but this was one of the best works of Jablosnky and my favorite. <br><br>It could be the greatest joy to hear Steve in full-orchestral mod and in anime-project like this.<br><br>I know, that all of this is a long shot and almost imposible, but you never know how things could turn.I am still surprised that "X-SS" isn't inserted into "Gap." That is easily the best iteration of the main theme.This is seems like HBO wanting to get Djawadi and couldn't get him so they get the guy next door. <br><br>Honestly, they should have gone for Wallfisch or Harry Gregson-Williams (probably too busy with Mulan).Poor Micheal thinks Mikeal's response is simple disagreement when it contains sentences like;<br><br>"Also film music doesn’t have to sound like it’s from the 1960’s all the time." Implying that's the only music Edmund likes.<br><br>Also, poor Micheal thinks pages can't have any other discussion other than the movies on them! (Plus, considering the fact that Balfe does do projects in a short time span all the time, it's not exactly negative to point out that producers hire him for that task too much.)Poor Edmund thinks disagreeing is having a go !thought this page was about crawl and the music by Aruj and Steffen????they did a great job and the film was fun.

Zaralyth? that you? lolWhile I'm sure the Lorne haters will be unhappy, I was very excited today to learn that Mr. Balfe is composing the score for the BBC's new "His Dark Materials" series (adaption of the same book that guided the 2007 film "The Golden Compass", composed by Desplat). I think there might actually be enough emotional material in this project to have Lorne finally write some melodies again! :)Has anyone noticed a high-pitched whining in the background of some tracks? It's particularly bad in the mid-section of "Witt in Brig/Tall and Quintard", from about 4 minutes onwards. It's such a high frequency that I bet a lot of people wouldn't hear it (including the QA team at LLL, I guess), but I can and it's really debilitating.Yeah it's an underwhelming choice for me. Balfe feels like the guy you get when you want "good enough", or when you need a score turned over in a really short time. Doesn't speak to much ambition on the showrunners' part when it comes to the music in this series. I'm sure it won't be bad, but I doubt it will be amazing.Heh, if it's anything like the 1994 score, then you'll be waiting a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time.

HANS ZIMMER TO SCORE WONDER WOMAN 1984



Hans Zimmer has signed on to score Wonder Woman 1984. Patty Jenkins returns to direct Gal Gadot as the titular hero. Hans first scored the character in Zack Snyder's Batman V Superman - Dawn Of Justice back in 2016, giving Wonder Woman her now iconic theme. Rupert Gregson-Williams, Hans's longtime collaborator, scored the first Wonder Woman film in 2017. Wonder Woman 1984 will be released by Warner Bros. Pictures on November 1, 2019.

Why are there so many people angry at Hans for scoring superhero movies again.
Averybody says something sometimes that they change later for whatever reason. We don't know what the reason is he's scoring X-Men & WW.

I personally think it's great that Hans is scoring superhero movies and beside that The Lion King and Widows. I think these four scores are going to be great.

I fully agree. But I do want to see Zimmer actually write a fun and energetic superhero score, much like he did with TASM2 and portions of MoS (and even Megamind if you want to count that). We’ve seen Zimmer tackle the “darker” tone plenty of times with BvS and the Nolan trilogy.

Personally I did not like Batman v Superman, and frankly I’m glad to see the trend of overly serious, self-important superhero films go away. There will never be another franchise like Nolan’s.

Well, just speaking for myself, I don't think Hans has it in him anymore. The Dark Knight Trilogy was well done, the little work he did in TASM 2 was pretty fun, BvS was a mixed bag, and his career has gone downhill along with his track record for superhero films.

I fully believe he had the most stress with BvS. You can hear it in the music. He just can't get a really great track in there. He's trying to make a new Batman theme but it's just a slightly re-arranged version of the "Batman Rising" theme from Batman Begins, boy choir and all. His Superman theme didn't feel any different in tone to his Batman theme, and the other themes (including Wonder Woman's) were kind of mixed bags themselves.

Of course I'd like to be proven wrong, but it's probably just going to be really cheesy and unpleasant to listen to synths with no orchestra in sight (IMO Wonder Woman's theme should be primarily orchestral because of her age and history), and the electric guitar/cello version of the main theme will be repeated ad nauseam. Very rarely in the past 2 years as he been able to reproduce anything close to how his career used to be.

But that is your personal tastes. I get not liking synths/electronics, so this probably wouldn’t work for you. But for someone who does enjoy that style of music, I am pretty excited. It all comes down to personal preference.
And in the past few years you still have Interstellar, TASM2, Hidden Figures, KFP3, Chappie, Boss Baby, etc. I think Hans has still “got it” ;-)

But as for BvS, I do agree. Everything feels so uninspired. After MoS built up Superman’s theme, it gets completely downplayed. Even the action cues feel so lifeless overly processed. I feel like this was more on Snyder than Hans though. I wouldn’t be surprised if his “retirement” was an excuse not to do Justice League.

Since this is 1984, you can expect more like a synth sound which is not necessarily a bad thing... maybe a throwback to his old days..

clearly doing it for the ladies, in my humble opinion. and it's okay and fine. all that happened in hollywood cost dunkirk the best score award. dunkirk didn't get the award because people were not happy with hollywood. that's what i think happened.

Maybe the first Wonder Woman was the "amazing script" that Hans was talking about and that would bring him back to the genre. He made that statement in the beginning of 2017 I think, so I guess they asked him to score the movie and he gave it to RGW, because of the tour.

Widows is completed.

TLK is under way and a long process due to the nature of the film (animation, songs etc.).

X Men, he's been working on that for a long time. But since the film seems to be under heavy reshoots all the time, he doesn't even know when the whole thing is gonna be finished (it will have to, at some point ! lol).

Have no clue about JXL's Justice League... As I said, I doubt he wasn't far in the writing process, but I also doubt anything got recorded.

As for X-Men, no, he's definitely NOT quitting it, no matter what's going on with the production.

I hope so. But what is working against him coming back is that Zimmer already put his stamp on the series with At World's End. The POTC scores are already some of the most popular in modern times. There is not much motivation for him to come back. If he does, it will only be for the fans.
