Yes! Finally someone else who has heard it to! I am a HUGE fan of both trilogy's, do you like POTC?R.I.P. to Ennio Morricone, dead at 91.

For those who aren’t as familiar with his material, check out Once Upon a Time in the West, easily one of the greatest scores of the past century. You can definitely hear where Zimmer took inspiration from, for Pirates/Lone Ranger/Sherlock/Rango/etc.

“Parlay” is such a love letter to the main tune from OUATITW...it‘s unreleased...@hybrid soldier
Where can i hear the songs you have listed out? I can't find it on YouTubeLooks like Zimmer's abandoned Z+. It only worked on one iOS system, then because it wasn't recompiled for the next system wouldn't decode the music you paid for. Locking your purchases into an app was a VERY BAD idea. Now there's nothing out there that's as good at providing a great surround sound experience for headphones.
So Lorne's mp3 uploads. Would anyone class that as an 'official' release of the music from the movie?Currently watching this movie the first time ^^ ... and then... suddenly a music motive spontaneously pops up. Sound exactly like a little part from Armageddon "Secondary Protocol" - really cool :) love the music in this movie. Very intense.I don't mean to pile on but do you really think that Hans touring is the only obstacle to a CD release of a completely forgotten 12-year-old film and score by a different composer?And why would Hans' tours be responsible for the fact that many albums these days don't get a physical release? While at the same time those tours even got an LP release... lolYou are aware that there's a pandemic going on right now, right?
I'm pretty sure that neither did he.I know Geoff does fantasy films and he is good at that, but I didn't want this.Lovely score by Atli, but also a bit typical for this kind of movie. This suite is all you need from this score. The songs are really great. Especially Double Trouble, Husavik and Running With The Wolves (i wish this song would be longer). Very nice movie and with a great soundtrack.Please tell me. When time come to Moscow.Wtf is up with that Time remix with Alan Walker?
@ Michael Hayko
cause yeah, there really is a market for a physical CD of a mediocre score of a film that everybody has forgotten even exists........said no one everOkay Zimmer it's time to get back to producing physical CDs and put your live performances on hold. You can start by producing 'Deception' it's such an amazing score! Okay you've had your fun pretending to be a rockstar now let's get back to the business of film music please!Top news :

https://variety.com/2020/music/news/hans-zimmer-interview-bo nd-dune-lion-king-ascap-awards-1234646855/i did not realize i put shit instead of shine lmaoooo fml I'm out of here lol

Wow!!! I just bought the soundtrack for POTC 3 today, and it so amazingly beautiful!! I have always enjoyed listening to movie soundtracks so much more than other types of music, and this far out does what I have heard in a long time. The songs bring back many of the feelings that I had while watching the movie (four times already), and some are very emotional because the climatic build-up is so beautiful. The soundtrack is playing as I write this, and will undoubtedly be played so much more in days to come. Wonderful, absolutely wonderful!!

@Matteo: anche "At Wit’s End" è una scopiazzatura! il carillon che senti è uguale a "per qualche dollaro in più" nella scena finale del duello.
Avrei preferito che citassero il grande Ennio nei titoli o almeno sul cd audio! Bah...

Hello !! i'm a boy from Italy, scuse for my little English !! Yerstday i see the film , and listen the Music...great, fantastic...Zimmer is number one, after Morricone !! The track Parlay for me is the best track, and is inspired from the music of morricone western score, like Per un Pugno di Dollari, Per qualche dollaro in più and Il Buono, il Brutto, Il Cattivo...the Sergio Leone's western movie. No ?

Bloody fantastic. Absofreakingly bloody fantastic.

Unlike a few other folks, I actually enjoy the holy hell out of both the Pirates 2 film and the score (esp. The Kraken & D. Jones themes). But this has REALLY got me reeling in circles to hear the full monty. A whirlpool of sound, fitting of Calypso herself.

Bring it.

man you guys are too funny.

Of course its supposed to be a homage to Morricone. Its for the duel. And Pirates doesnt take itself too seriously anyways...

The clips here are 'named' as 7358903 (#3), 7358911 (#11), 7358915 (#15), 7358916 (#16).

Does this mean they are from a CD with 16 tracks ?

Cause the soundtrack have (only) 13 tracks, it seems ! (??)

;)

Absolutely amazing! Hans Zimmer is a true genius at creating awe-inspiring love themes. (HE’S DONE IT AGAIN!) The love theme found in (At Wit’s End & Drink Up Me Hearties) speaks so highly to the complexity of the human soul: it is a emotional and metaphysical climb to clarity. That theme alone has already coiled itself tightly around my mind and soul reminding me why Hans Zimmer is one of the greatest composers of our time. From this theme alone I can truly say that this score is a great triumph for not only Hans Zimmer—but also the entire Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. This CD when released will definitely not leave my CD player for months!

HANS ZIMMER—the King of Clarity!

The 'first listen' is up over at Soundtrack.net :)

Lots of new original stuff. I've had soundtrack 2 before I'd seen film 2, so I was wondering how the horror-esque theme of The Kraken fitted with the circus-fun of Dinner Is Served. On soundtrack 3, Zimmer does it again. All kinds of cookiness that make me wonder how it al goes with a Pirates of the Caribbean film.

But you know what? This time around, I have no doubt it'll all work out perfectly. The last track on the cd sounds like it's the best end possible. Bring on the full cd!

"Parlay" is really reminiscent of Broken Arrow ;) I'm happy Hans's having fun getting back to his older style ! ;)

One day is pretty good, it sounds so epic ! Although "king arthur" inspired, it sounds much better than king arthur because of the great pirates main theme. Love how Hans harmonizes the horns

johncarter reply Replies: 0 || 2007-05-03 00:00:00
Hoist the colours sound funny ( what accent is it ? certainly not english )

a pirates chant :) what can be better than that for a pirates movie ;)

Bootstrap Phil reply Replies: 0 || 2007-05-02 00:00:00
Oooh the 'entree of captain Jack Sparrow theme' only just preceeds the end credits music! Man, I wanna see Jack ending the third film the way it should end. Agreed with matteo - CAN'T BLOODY WAIT!

I hope Hans composed a few new themes...and I'm very unhappy to hear that primitive melody (He's a Pirate) in "Drink Up Me Hearties Yo Ho"....

Man...Im more exited with only 20 seconds clips from At the World's End than with the Whole Dead Man's chest score..

I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At last we have He's a pirate by Zimmer, and At last a triumphant rendition of the pirates theme with full orchestra and chorus!

Pretty damn good!

Kaya reply Replies: 0 || 2007-05-02 00:00:00
OOOOOH MY GOD! I'm so excited! One Day definitely reminded me of King Arthur and Parlay has gotta be a homage to Morricone's Once Upon A Time In The West. SOUNDS AMAZING!

Anthony reply Replies: 0 || 2007-05-02 00:00:00
Well it certainly sounds better than POTC2...but electric guitars still...

...or is it just the orchestra through an amp again?

batman5 reply Replies: 0 || 2007-05-02 00:00:00
zimmer you never fail to amaze me. although many people did not enjoy the 2nd pirates movie, i understand that you didnt have the freedom needed to start from scratch to create the score. i thought it was still good. but this new one. wow! the orchestrations between the choir and the orchestra is fantastic!!! you are the man

Levente reply Replies: 0 || 2007-05-02 00:00:00
As somebody said below One Day is too King Arthurish. :(
Parlay is too Morricone but I think that's why it was writen like that. In inside Joke maybe?
Hoist the Colours is good. Now thats a true Zimmer track.

Trust me, you will like the new score. There many new themes and musical ideas, just wait for the First Listen at Soundtrack.net tomorrow.
