Unsurprisingly, Hans Zimmer has been hired to score Angels and Demons for director Ron Howard, following up their smash hit film version of The DaVinci Code from 2006. Zimmer’s involvement in the sequel has just been confirmed by the Gorfaine-Schwartz Agency.

The music makes the film.
Ron Howard/Hans Zimmer have worked on three films together: da vinci code, frost/nixon, and this film in the last two years. They already have the bonding connection for each other. After angels and demons is finished, Hans will probably go on to his tour around the world and having a year off of film composer.
til the day he gets too old to do it.
tyr,
in response to your comment, i almost don’t want to respond at all. but i don’t fault zimmer for how he choses to score his films considering the number of scores he does in a year (3-6, and all blockbuster films). if he were like the rest (elfman, williams, shore, etc.) and chose to score only 1 film a year, then it would be entirely him. but i don’t fault him for choosing to write the majority of the main thematic material, and have his co-writers do some of the fill-in using his thematic material. so in essence, they are writing to what he has already written (with direction), not composing totally new material where he can’t get credit. besides, ridley scott, ron howard, etc., have never directed by themselves…that’s why they have producers and art directors, etc., to assist the visionary…enough said.
he’s only 51 old,don’t be afraid,
he’s gonna composed another hundred of score! :-)
and i fully expect a return by him and newton-howard for the third batman film, which i expect either late 09 to mid 10. and a concert tour somewhere in the middle.
YAY indeed!
I wonder who are hte real composers for Angels and Demons. Richard Harvey, NGS and others? Zimmer is just a producer and a marketing name/face.
brian i agree with you on every word you’ve said this
man is a legend
Can’t wait! Hope he never stops making music, EVER!!!!! What would film, or the world, do without his music? Yay!!
