The new Superman theme gave many goosebumps, but it seems that Zimmer is in no hurry to sign on for the sequel, Batman vs. Superman. In a recent interview, the composer explains why he’s unsure, and why a return to Batman “might not feel right.”
This news is anything but a bombshell, since Hans Zimmer isn’t exactly in need of work, and made it clear from the very first announcement that the dark knight would appear in a Man of Steel sequel that he “thought he was done with Batman.” For his part, Zimmer has supported the decision to cast Ben Affleck as a new caped crusader, but has maintained that a second crack at Batman’s music isn’t something he’s aching to take part in.

Am I the only one who thinks that hearing a new, perhaps more modern Danny Elfman Batman theme would be awesome?
Hybrid, if Zimmer truly does not want to do it, ask him if he was willing to hand over the batman side to someone else…

I think this works best as a co-composed project, where someone else writes some fresh new tunes for the Batman side, while HZ concentrates on Superman. What I like to hear in the final work are two distinct thematic identities that sound so very different from one another on their own, but have the potential to "collide" with each other and form a third theme.
Agree with Hybrid here, Zimmer has more than a year left just to decide whether he'll do it or not. That being said, i would like him to team up with another composer for the Batman stuff!

Zimmer should do the Superman stuff and expand those themes. For Batman, I'd be fine with a new composer.
Oh, and although this is a Hans Zimmer site, John Williams is in fact doing Episodes VII, VII, and IX of Star Wars, or so Kathleen Kennedy says. :D
Actually I meant a new composer to do the whole movie, but now I think yours is the better idea.
