I agree with something Edmund Meinerts said a while back: "Nobody should get that many bites at the apple". Zimmer has scored films for 2 superhero characters already. Seems a little unfair that he be hired for a 3rd character as well. Plus, he may very well do a second incarnation of Batman (which I would legitimately look forward to). That'd land him, technically, at 4 different characters (Nolan Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Snyder Batman).
According to Film Music Reporter, a soundtrack album is in the works for 12 Years A Slave by Columbia Records for a November 11th release. It features music from and inspired by the film. Hoping that the former doesn't mean another On Stranger Tides styled album.

I think Hans' score is getting a separate release in some form. Hybrid?
What I hope for is like a release like the Game of shadows release if you are going to do something like this.

I won't deny that I'm curious to see the final product, but I still find it disappointing that they chose Zimmer for this.
