Apparently, Batkid himself was given a copy of it…Maybe it'll be released publicly sometime soon. But then, it's for the kid, not for us. ;)
i'd love to know what that sounds like
Will we ever be able to hear it?
“Yes, Hans did write a score for Batkid,” Zimmer’s publicist Rae Murillo confirmed to Radio.com today (Nov. 15). “We’re not yet sure when or how the music will be incorporated, but I do know that there are different elements and surprises being rolled out as the day progresses, so we’re just waiting to see how the music is going to be used.”
Did hans really compose a theme for batkid?
Finale is the best thing about The Lone Ranger, but I like the rest of the score as well…It's Zimmer's best since Angels and Demons. Man of Steel I'm not a big fan of, as you say, but it has some highlights ("What Are You…" etc., but also "If You Love These People" is a nice piece of 90s throwback Zimmer), and Rush has a strong theme and some fun rock-y stuff. It's not an amazing year or anything, but with one good score, one solid one and one misstep that nevertheless contains some decent moments, I've at least partially restored some of the faith I'd lost in him over the last few years.
Yeah, lol!
I thought you found Man of Steel rather….meh, and that you only liked The Lone Ranger because of Finale. Granted, he's done other scores this year, but your reaction to those two hasn't exactly been glowing. But then, I don't know you or what your views on this type of thing really are, so I could be completely misjudging the situation. ;)
I didn't offer an opinion. I said his brass sounds synthy (which it does) and that Driving Miss Daisy sounds more organic (which it does) despite being over two decades older. I'm criticizing Zimmer's use of samples, not the scores themselves. Personally I think this is Zimmer's best year in a long time.
