I'm hoping Henry Jackman will incorporate Silvestri's Captain America march. I love the Dark Knight trilogy of scores and the Man of Steel score, but sometimes it's nice to have old-school fanfares like Captain America got. :)
So is this the second time an RCP member will have scored a Marvel film? I wonder who will do the second Avengers movie…
I would never put an information on H-Z.com simply "based on imdb"… I got other confirmation ! ;)
You know, I wonder if Henry Jackman scoring Captain America: The Winter Soldier is official. Anyone could have edited IMDb.
However, I trust IMDb, so I could say I'm excited about Captain America: The Winter Soldier on his resume, especially after hearing what he did in G.I. Joe: Retaliation and X-Men: First Class.
Captain America and The Avengers were "ok" scores. I was hoping to hear something like Judge Dredd, Van Helsing or The Mummy Returns in both Silvestri's Scores.
Silvestri's music for Captain America is actually ok, but the Captain America March is just EPIC. Its been a long time to hear a fanfare in a superhero film. Why dont they just use this march as the classic james bond theme for 007?
Craig Armstrong should have scored The Avengers. TIH was best marvel score and i was really disappointed when they hired Silvestri.
Now Jackman… I don't see it.
I'd be really disappointed if Zimmer did a Marvel score. Let him stay the DC guy, at least until the current series with all their tie-ins and crossovers are done.
You're right Edmund, Marvel really don't care about musical continuity. Btw, by "unheroic" i meant "non epic". Okay, there were loads of brass in The Avengers, but it felt old fashioned, absolutely not powerful (for me, at least).
In my opinion a movie assembling 4 of the greatest superheroes MUST have a very memorable score, not a generic one. DC comics are pretty much aware of that, since they keep hiring Zimmer. Hope Marvel will one day do the same!
