That Madagascar theme is more well-known than you think. Surprisingly so, actually. And just because not everyone would recognize the Kung Fu Panda themes doesn't mean they shouldn't be used. That's the franchise identity. Why pander everything to the lowest common denominator?
Why? 96,7 % of people who watched the trailer don't recognize the madagascar theme. It fits the pace better than the soundtracks associated with the films IMO. The same amount of people wouldn't recognize the KFP soundtracks if the heard it in the trailer.
It's well-known enough of a piece for it to be distracting, though, and not just for film score people. Could they not have used something from the first two scores?
FINALLY! :D
it seems that Intrada will release AGENT CODY BANKS on 7/7 :) source are the hints in the Intrada or FSM forum.

We all know there are a looooot of stupid people out there, but that does not excuse stupid decisions :-p

Zimson, the scores for KFP and KFP2 are also probably a part of their library, and would certainly fit this teaser a whole lot better :-p

They took it right out of their library. Didn't even have to license it for the trailer. Seems reasonable to me.
Madagascar music in Kung Fu Panda trailer, those trailer-makers are really weird sometimes :-p
