OK, my main "issue" here were this part where Linkin Park is "working on" the score, but from how I understand it now, they’re (hopefully) not actually gonna work on the score (as in write any score music), but rather Jablonsky (++) are gonna (try)incorporate some of their "sound" (whatever that means) into the score … I’m not familiar with Linkin Park, but I did not like the song in the end of the 1st film/in the end credits (if that was their song), and I for sure hope the score for the 2nd won’t have a "rock-band" sound to it, which I think would be way to inappropriate…
This site offers clarification:

Steve Jablonsky stated:
"In a nutshell, Michael Bay sent the new Linkin Park song over to my studio. Hans and I had a listen, and we both thought it was really cool, and it might be interesting to try incorporating some of those elements into the score. So we got the guys from the band down to the studio and talked about how to do that. They’re all really cool guys and really excited about adding some of their sounds to the score."
"But I am still the composer on this film. It has all gotten rather complicated. The film is BIG, and now that we’ve got Linkin Park involved, Hans has kind of been helping me keep the production on track, because I’m so focused on writing the score at the moment."
At the bottom of the page is a link to a page which says that Michael Bay himself also worked on the script for the film. The film will be massive!
hehe, maybe it sounds great, you dont know, wait and stfu :p
Whoa, whoa, whoa, everbody. Let’s just put the torches and pitchforks back in the shed for just one minute and think about the positives of this:
A) Steve Jablonsky is the composer for the film, not Linkin Park. There will only be "sounds" on the film, so it will still be a Jablonsky score, hopefully like the first one.
B) Linkin Park was responsible for "What I’ve Done" (the end credits song in the first film), which I thought was pretty good. This means that their efforts for this one may hopefully match that.
Besides, it was Jablonsky and Zimmer’s idea to involve Linkin Park in the score, so I think we owe them the benefit of the doubt.
Yeah, I threw them down by posting the second message hehe…
On the other hand: Linkin Park is indeed a good band, in the past they had pretty good releases like In the End, Crawling etc… And the song What I’ve done is very good, yes. It totally fit the movie, andas seen that ànd Hans ànd Steve are working on it, it can’t go wrong.
Babylon AD worked out pretty good too. But that was only one bassist…
(sob)
I hope this is a joke…
This is going to suck so hard…
I would boycot it, but it’s Steve’s score so I can’t do it… But if it was any other composer, even Hans… BOYCOT. I hate Linkin Park now, you certainly screwed it up, big time, boys!
I’ll put my hopes to Desperate Housewives Season 5 DVD for some good music…
