FilmMusicRadio interviews LISA GERRARD
Film music journalist Daniel Schweiger interviews LISA GERRARD in a composer whose haunting vocals have put a transcendent spin on soundtracks Filmmusicradio.com.
You can listen to the very interesting interview by visiting the afore-mentioned link.

The Ridley Scott phrase is very common (perhaps Lisa’s phrase is too like Teo thinks it might be) but still. This is what I hear when people use these phrases:
"What you got to understand is…" = I freaking know everything there is to know and you obviously don’t
"Do you understand?" = I comprehend this brilliance that is coming out of my mouth, but I’m not sure you do
"ya know" = can you relate to what I am saying?
so I’ll take Ridley Scott’s bad habit over Lisa’s any day
I think the ‘do you understand’ probably comes more from a casualness that’s okay with most Australians. Perhaps that’s rubbish…i don’t know. But either way she’s eccentric. Personally I gave her room for that during the listening.
Somehow I understood her saying ‘do you understand’. Ridley Scott always says in interviews ‘you know’.
I found that interview incredibly unbearable to listen to. Although Lisa made some really nice points, and she was quite insightful, she really sounded condescending. The phrase "you understand?" is just above "what you got to understand is…" in my book of most annoying things a human being can say in a conversation.
