TRANSFORMERS’ SCORE COMING SOON
The website THE NIGHT SHIFT announced that Warner Bros. Records will “shortly” be releasing the album of Steve Jablonsky‘s orchestral score from the movie Transformers, according to a Senior Vice President in the Music Department at Paramount Pictures.

I think a well selected 50-55 minutes album would be quite enough of Transformers. There are very few albums that one could listen through except the biggest ones like Star Wars, Cutthroat Island, Godzilla etc.
However I’ll be buying this one.

The Score from Transformers by composer Steve Jablonsky, WILL be released on October 9, 2007. It is a 1-Disc Set, filled to capacity. If it sells well, Warner Records will consider releasing a 2-Disc Set of the Complete Score and will include unused tracks.

Christopher Knight has dropped by the board again to let us know on the status of the upcoming CD release of Steve Jablonsky’s Transformers score. It will be a single disc release that will be "as complete as possible", though Warners may plan a 2 disc release for release in the neaer future depending on the sales of the signle disc release.

Well, Godzilla’s double disc score release seems to give good ideas to producers !
I can listen too to a 2CD Complete Score without much problems, bit I’d say Transformers doesn’t necessarily need it. I mean, 70-75 minutes of music would be just fine… since the complete score is only 90 minutes long.
A lot of cues from the movie weren’t much interesting… The donuts’ scene music was secondary, the Frenzy’s Shootout scene was the same as Scorponok’s desert fight… A lot of comedy music was always based on the same cue…
I mean a good track selection, without the zimmerish "suite-like tracks mixed together" of 70 minutes would be enough… but, that’s just my opinion :P
Well, "as complete as possible" sounds very promising to me. As far as solid listening experiences go, i’m the kind of person who can sit through a 2CD complete score without much problems, so I say bring it on. If they’d make that single disc score as long as for example Badelt’s THE PROMISE (73 minutes), I’d be in heaven ;)
