Honestly not the best of scores, but I don’t blame it on Tom. It’s not like he had the best material to work with.
The movie didn’t even give his score room to breathe, and the two tracks I loved, Hallway Battle Pt. 1-2, were mixed so low that the power of it was kinda lost.
The movie is fun. Didn’t really notice the score in the film to be honest. Only the emotional bits between Batista and his daughter.
It was… okay (the movie is fun), the score is going to the most ambiental/sound design since Paranoia (altough, this one is better), there is some nice emotional ideas (specially the two main zombies, with those vocals, provied by Sara Barone, orchestrator in GvK), an agressive action, not thematic, but what you expect from a zombie movie?. It’s the weak of the three scores released by Holkenborg, but much interesting than some of his earlier stuff.
21th May, first track from the album
