Legit.

Yeah i just saw cause it leaked a couple days early and i wasnt sure, it’s really good and sounds different from anything Lorne has done. Really excited now
It’s legit.
I asked Balfe on twitter.
Already 3rd amazing score out this year …. So far !
This has to be Balfe’s laziest effort. What, 5 minutes work? Mancina’s theme off to the assistants, Balfe taking that stupid, simple chord progression he has used for everything as a ‘theme’ and asking AI to do the rest – job done! Balfe made a million. What about everyone else?
Far from Lazy! Great old school action.
Cool Bruickheimer music at its best.
So.. what do you all think about Lornes new score to the new BB-movie?
To me, it’s a slight step above the last one, but it’s still miles away from Mark Mancina original one. There’s a lot of co-composers in this one, and I felt that translated in some lack of cohesion throughout the album. The mix also feels wierd sometime. Lorne posted a month ago “Day 1 of Bad Boys recording”, so that didn’t left a lot of time to compose something super inspired and cohesive. Plus, he was working on the Beverly Hills Cop 4 movie at the same time I presume, since it release in a few weeks, so I guess he didn’t had that much time to work on the score. If they do BB5, I hope Mark would return, and that the directors will allow more time for the composer to work on the movie. If I recall on BB3, Lorne arrived late in the game.
Mark is exiled from Hollywood except from animation.
@grizzlymv once they are at the recording stage the writing is done. He had more than a month.
Just saw the movie and I can say the score release is missing a bunch of content from the movie which would do it more justice. It sounded a bit more cohesive within the movie and had more nods to the source. Like the steel drums, acoustic guitar, etc that are mostly absent on the score. Fits great in the movie and feel less rushed somehow.
@Grizzlymv
I totally agree. Loved the score in the movie, but on album the music misses something.
