If Nolan is not working with Zimmer, Ludwig Göransson would be a dream choice for me. I really think he is an up and coming composer capable of great things.

But of course, I rather Nolan stick with Zimmer.

As much as I liked Julyan's work – especially his score for Insomnia, don't think it would work. I mention Lorne because he has worked with Nolan as part of Zimmer's team and his sound is very familiar to Zimmer's.

Of course, everything is kept under wraps. I personally think Zimmer doesn't want to confirm his involvement so that he doesn't get asked about it. I mean the film starts filming in three months and we only have a date. Hans usually starts very early on Nolan's films that's what surprises me the most, if he really is in the dark with this one.

To me, Nolan and Zimmer have become inseparable so I'd be really surprised if he doesn't score the film. But if not Zimmer than who? Balfe? :D – Hope I didn't open the floodgates of hell…

Anyway, super excited and happy that Zimmer is scoring Dune. It was an obvious choice just glad it was confirmed – Would've also liked a collab with Wallfisch since BR2049 is one of my favorite scores.

    YES!!!!!

So happy that Villeneuve is directing and Zimmer is attached to score. While I know it’s unlikely I hope this score is more than just sound design, there is so much opportunity here to write some kickass music.

Well technically Tears In the Rain is Vangelis

nvictor, I actually think Dunkirk is better than BR2049 for a couple reasons:

    1) Even though BR2049 had some interesting themes, most of the soundtrack was too quiet for me and lost my interest during parts of the album. Dunkirk on the otherhand really maintained by interest almost throughout the entire album due to the intensity of the music.

    2) BR2049 soundtrack feels like an attempt to mimic Vangelis' Blade Runner score, whereas Dunkirk is original and unique (except the fact that Zimmer's work isn't completely original, which doesn't bother me at all).

what about dunkirk : ) what do you think of it?

Hi, I'm new to this site and a big fan of Zimmer. Blade Runner is definitely one of his best works (and don't forget Wallfisch). Anyways, I'm definitely anticipating Denis Villeneuve's upcoming Dune film and I wonder if he'll go to Zimmer to do the project. That would be awesome if that happened.

Just continuing this little dialogue with Max Potcats.

    1. Wallfisch is a very, very fine composer but his HZ work is not his greatest by any means. Check out IT and Paperboat.

    2. Hans does not give a shit anymore – agree.

    3. Villeneuve and Johansson worked extremely closely on their previous projects. The decision to go with HZ was WB mandated. How do you think that impacted on a working relationship? Of course, HZ and BW are very professional but….

    4. Yeah, the challenges proposed by JJ are too distinct, not to be harvested into a factory for sure.
