Any composer details for this or any of Balfe’s other recent scores? I feel like we rarely get them with him for some reason, which is frustrating because he is so prolific that it seems impossible there isn’t a huge amount of co-writing going on beneath the hood…
It honestly seems like a scam seeing his name on the cover these days. People were giving Hans shit for not doing all of the composing on his scores, but with Balfe the situation is getting ridiculous. Not a month goes by there’s not a new Balfe OST and there’s no way in hell he does the bulk of the work.
Why “scam” ?
You have no clue how he works. And everyone is credited. Some of his scores are even credited “Music by 14th Street Music” to be more accurate.
Can you shed some light on how he works?
@Edmund, we “rarely get them” if you only use this website as a source.
Stéphane has said he won’t do project details for Balfe scores, so it’s up to you to find them if you want them.
Almost all of Balfe’s tracklists you could find on internet…
As for credits… Even Stephane doesn’t know full picture.
But I would be grateful if Stephane could wink wink at Hans Zimmer cue in 13 Hours
What an amazing score.
Balfe has become the new John Powell for sure
Marcus – because holiday largely just hires the same guys over and over. Ticket to Paradise and Black Adam are both mediocre scores and the combination doesn’t really demonstrate versatility given neither is particularly strong. Hans being able to write something like the The Holiday and then turn around and produce the Joker theme shows versatility.
*”Hollywood”, not “holiday”, lmao
Tbh, Black Adam was a fucking nightmare in his post and the score was the most decent thing of all that.
