It's not one of his very best, and the second half is definitely stronger than the first, but I'm quite fond of it overall. It has an outstanding main theme, "Mall Chase" and "The Fire Truck" are great fun cues, and I always find myself surprised by "The Amoeba Emerges", which is a much more intense, dissonant and complex action cue than you would expect to find in such a silly throwaway movie.
In a way this is the first Powell score where he really showed his voice to the world, as up until that point he had either been co-composing with HGW or Hans, or else writing scores like Face/Off or Chill Factor that weren't really in his style yet.

Fantastic score, very much in the vein of Chicken Run and his other animated scores at that time

One of the few Powell scores I still haven't heard. I remember the music working well in the movie, but I really need to listen to the whole thing separately. Any opinions on it from Powell fans?
