When does the season 8 soundtrack release?

In my experience they always released the soundtrack before the final epsidoe. Even in season7

When it comes to the actual piano portion of that piece, there's honestly nothing going on that someone with practically no training couldn't compose after a few minutes of trying random combinations of notes. It's neither intellectually impressive, nor particularly effective in context.

Admittedly, Zimmer himself has written some extremely simple piano themes (Time likely being the best example), but at least he overlays those themes with expansive and genuinely interesting orchestration. Ramin just… doesn't.

Spoilers if you haven't seen episode 7!!!!!!!!!

I have figured out the chronological order of the soundtrack.

    Episode 1:
    Main Title (Title Sequence)
    Dragonstone (Deanerys' arrival)
    Shall We Begin? (End Credits)

    Episode 2:
I Am The Storm (Sea Battle / Death Of Sand Snakes / Yara & Euron Duel)
Ironborn (End Credits [0:58 – end])

    Episode 3:
The Gift (Euron arrives with Ellaria, Tyene & Yara in Kingslanding)
The Long Farewell (Cersei poisons Tyene in the dungeon)
Casterly Rock (The Unsullied take Casterly Rock)
A Lion's Legacy (Jaime & the Lannister army take Highgarden)
Message For Cersei (Ollena reveals to Jaime that she is Joffrey's killer)
    The Queen's Justice (End Credits)

    Episode 4:
Home (Arya returns to Winterfell [This piece is also used in other parts of the season])
Dragonglass (Jon shows Daenerys the cave)
Spoils Of War, Pt. 1 (Daenerys goes to battle with Drogon)
Spoils Of War, Pt. 2 (Tyrion arrives / Bronn Vs. Drogon / Jaime marches towards Daenerys)

    Episode 5:
Gorgeous Beasts (Daenerys returns / Jon touches Drogon)

    Episode 6:
Against All Odds (Frozen lake battle / Daenerys to the rescue / Viserion dies)
See You For What You Are (Jon plegdes alegiance to Daenerys)

    Episode 7:
A Game I Like To Play (Littlefinger manipulates Sansa into thinking Arya is the enemy)
    The Dagger (Littlefinger's trial / Littlefinger's death)
No One Walks Away From Me (Cersei tells Jaime she is going to betray Daenerys & Jon. Despite of Cersei threat to kill him, Jaime leaves after disagreeing with her)
Winter Is Here (Jaime rides away from Kinglanding as it begins to snow. Winter has come to Kingslanding)
Truth (Bran & Sam discover Jon is really Aegon Targeryen and the rightful heir to the Iron Throne. Jon & Daenerys make love on the boat)
The Army Of The Dead (The Dead arrive at Eastwatch. After standing completely still, the Night King arrives on a ressurected Viserion and destroys the Wall. The Army Of The Dead marches south of the Wall / End Credits [4:07 – end])

    I listened to the samples:

The Queen's Justice is the end credits music from epsiode 3. A Game I like to Play could be the dungeon scene, The gift is that scene in episode 3 with Euron Greyjoy. The Dagger is probaly from scenes with Little Finger. A Long Farewell is the poisson kiss scene. Don't know for sure but the Against All Odds track is from Beyond the Wall. See You For What You Are can't place it. Maybe Jon leaving to the wall or that love scene with Grey Worm… A Lion's Legacy another variation of Rains of Castamere. Ironborn is when Euron's fleet sails to King's Landing I think.

No maester theme variations from what i've heard :'( also I don't think the music from that scene with Arya and Nymeria is included. But oh there is a little bit of piano in Winter is Here.

Gonna be honest with you I'm gonna miss that slow pacing but im really glad that now they have a proper budget to focus in what is important instead of putting nude scenes in every chapter like s1 and 2

The whole show has evolved, not just the music… it used to be dialogue heavy and slow paced, now it's much more straightforward, it looks more and more like Hollywood movies. The music reflects that. And I find it much nicer, really happy with this direction.

Would have been cool if the composer could revisit the first two seasons and redo/enhance his score based on what he's learned and applied to the series lately.

Official or not, way better than Season 5's cover
