How bout we enjoy both and not bash the work from either composers?
This is one of the most thematic videogame scores out there. Nearly every action cue has its unique and distinctive sound. I seriously don't know what you've all listened to, because it clearly wasn't this.
I won't be arguing much more, since it's unlikely I'll change anyone's opinion, but I'll be editing a suite for Hybrid to post here (as I did with Warcraft). It'll showcase what I mean.
I agree. The action music is the same as all his scores. Some basic strings doing a few repetive dum-da-dum notes and not going anywhere.
I like some of his GOT themes but that was also due to his releases have a decent of amount of time between them. But this year there have been way more Ramin scores and it just shows how generic it all sounds.
They shouldn't hire him for franchises that already exist. I didn't like his warcraft score either. Compared to the game "login screen" music it was incredibably shallow.
He composed the past games, it's easy to assume he'd be back, cut the guy a break, no need to be a jerk.

Ramin absoutely owned this year thus far, and with not only Gears 4, but also Westworld and The Great Wall coming out as well, I have no doubt that he will continue to do so.
