I can’t believe the expanded score for GvK hasn’t been leaked yet. Some of Holkenborg’s best tracks didn’t make it to the official album.

      Still can’t believe about Spectral…

      Is has leaked

It leaked. It’s on Antonio di Iorio’s website.

      Only two tracks weren’t released:
      1m08A v1 Philadelphia Transition (0:34)
      2m14B v1 We’re Breaking Into Apex (0:24)

probably because Antonio didn’t worked on them, but who knows?..

I really hope they do release the complete score for GvK, a lot of great tracks were not in the original soundtrack and it’s extremely disappointing

Mostly some of Hollow Earth stuff and the extended Godzilla’s suite (which is my favorite)

And of course, the main titles

The expanded score for Godzilla vs. Kong is at the top of my wishlist. So many great tracks (including the phenomenal main title song) aren’t available anywhere!

It’s on Antonio di Iorio’s website.

God I hope not. Bring back Bear McCreary.

Well, Desplat’s writing is more a la Ifukube than McCreary: brass, percussion, motifs. The mannerisims in the strings and use of his themes.
Holkenborg’s approach is basically more to 80s synths (Carpenter, Vangelis, Fiedel…) with certain influences from Otani (GMK is utterly synth and some of that is un his score), as far i’m concern, no monster movie has an enterily original score, specially when you have a legend like Ifukube, i never felt the theme a knock off, more a homage to that style of music (like Kong, his theme is more akin to JNH or Barry, peaceful, emotional…) than other thing.
