Going by what Hybrid said I’m guessing everybody had a hand in everything, definitely a lot of cross-pollination of styles (aside from the obvious Pharrell material). I definitely hear Hans’s voice in the cello writing and Rocket Cues, and “Katherine Calculates” sounds very much like The Da Vinci Code.
And Mike, if you haven’t heard it yet check out “A Cure For Wellness”. IMO Wallfisch’s best score, which showcases his horror/fantasy/orchestral styles all in one.
One of my favorite scores of the past decade with Zimmer's name attached to it.
Does anyone know who the female soloist is?
Hybrid, do you know how Hans was involved with Adele's Grammy performance? Benjamin Wallfisch thanked him in a post for bringing him onto the project.
It would make the most sense if it came out January 6th, since that is the official date for the movie release everywhere. They have no reason to not release it until June.
I think that's because of the rule that disqualifies a score where too many people are credited (ie. The dark knight)…maybe hz chose to drop his name so the score could be eligible
I like the excerpt a lot. It's certainly unique – it has that strange spin that they love to put on scores (particularly recently) – but it also is undeniably an RCP score. It seems like a good blend of these two methods, much better than some recent efforts. Hope the full score reflects this!
so he did most of it????
Sounds a lot like Horner about 10 minutes in. Not that it's a bad thing.
