I find it a bit wierd that a lot of Elfman scores have RCP/nonRCP workers and additionals and Danny never mentions them…
And people think it’s only Hans who has a big team of additionals…
I spelling you if you don’t understand.
Elfman write those scores, aside with the help of his orchestrators and conducters, because, he was at the time, self-taught to READ, not WRITE.
I personally find Elfman scores repetetive (especially Burton stuff)
(Maybe only first few were ‘original’ – Batman, for example)
Then He became the Zimmer-type guy.
But while Hans Zimmer got some hate, Elfman almost always is praised
I’m disagree.
Mission Impossible, Black Beauty, Batman, Dolores Clairborne (for those who said Elfman isn’t capable to write emotional scores), demostrates how great Elfman is.
Also he gets hate when he make scores like Spider-Man (yes, it was hated because wasn’t sound like Batman), Planet of the Apes, The Kingdom (that score is the most hated), Wanted, Terminator Salvation, even Hulk was hated for some, to much electronic in this.
I forgot He did T4
What a weird choice of composer…
Spider-Man got hated…?
Ha-ha, I imagining some guy watching opening of Spider-Mab and He is just “Naah, it sucks, ’cause no Batman theme in this”
Spider-Man*
Yeah, the Spider-Man score was wonderful
Elfman got some harsh criticism in the late 90s, where his music was far from what he was doing with Burton (Extreme Measures, for example), and Spider-Man got criticism for using electronics and some experimental ideas (mainly percussion with paint buckets), and Planet of the Apes, because is mostly percussion, some folks forgetting some of this have Elfman-ish in his writing, as with Hulk.
