I agree. Better than Balfe’s effort, but not the original. The main theme is a big downgrade.

Definitely better than Uprising, but still far worse than the 1st soundtrack. And I don’t like how Brandon use
Djawadi’s themes. This time they have the rights for, so why not to create a proper new version of the Main Theme? The same applied to the Kaiju theme. The sound of the score is seems to me kinda dull and less entertaining. Perhaps it’s because of lack of good guitar sound (some tracks which include it are incomparable with similar from the 1st soundtrack) or something else, but this soundtrack is sounds like less colorful version of the Djawadi’s work. But, maybe the 2nd season give some good music, I will wait to hear it.
Because this series are not fun like the first movie?
And obiously isn’t going as good as the original Pacific Rim, but yet, an interesting score.
But the first movie was serious enough for the anime inspired work. It was dramatic and fun in good proportions, both the movie and the soundtrack. This anime is nothing close to del Toro’s work, mostly boring, bad development of characters and story. I expected a lot more from creators of “X-Men Evolution” series. Same bad things goes to music. I’d finished the 1st season not so long ago, but already don’t remember a thing except some kind of variations on Djawadi’s theme and brooding sound in danger moments, but that’s all.

A much better score than Uprising, that’s for sure.
I think it’s nice that they got someone who works with Ramin to do this. (Kind of a “Geoff on PotC” move :p )
